Piece of mind-- Most of the time...
I purchased this as an addition to an excalibur system that I installed on my construction trailer. works well until voltage drops below 12 volts. The unit shuts off and will not operate until it is disconected and re connected. Not designed to come back on. Contacted tech support and after some discussion, I have decided to install a relay for the white ignition source wire to trip via the siren wire so that the gps will not create a power draw unless accessed (tech says it will still work) by my phone.
We will see, sounds good in theory. I like knowing that I will have all bases covered and notified imediately if the trailer is accessed or moved, unlike lo-jack which I can only activate after my stuff is stolen which is usually to late, tools are rarely recovered.
