Nuts!

I did my research and i always came back to the Orion, very happy i chose to purchase it. I have kids come up to me everyday at school asking how many 15's i had and i say a single 10 and they never believe me. Im only running about 600rms to it also (yes i know that is not nearly enough). Very worth the money, i suggest saving up your money and getting this over anything else in this price range, except for the mtx 9500 thats the only sub ive been told can beat mine, granted i only have 600rms to it. Im gonna sell this one and get the 15 soon, im in love.

*Admin Note: Under powering a woofer is dangerous, the voice coil could warp and cause serious damage.*

Breaking in subs

Bryan the reason your Orion HCCA sub blew was the fact that you were only running 350watts to it! Subs will normally blow up because of one or two reasons. Not ENOUGH POWER, even at break in, or a very distorted signal. Your sub is a dual 4 ohm sub so you had to be running it at either 8 or 2 ohms. The third way to pop a sub can be the box set up. I'm running 8 12" HCCA's with four fosgate 2500bdcp's. Keep it in mind. Hope I helped. Currently hitting 167.7db

What a beast

This sub is a monster. Its still in a sealed box but the sound is amazing, deep smooth bass. Plan on a getting another, wiring to 2ohm and building a ported box soon. Consider a high quality 2000w+ mono amp to actually push this thing to its potential. Everyone's jealous my little 10 sounds 100x better then their 12's and 15's, with the right amp and box it can be louder than most, but either way the sound quality is superb, actual DEEP bass you feel and can appreciate. Id love to get a 12 or a 15 once Im done with the 10.

they need power!

When i bought this sub i also bought an Orion HCCA D1200 amp and built a 1 cube sealed box, this sounded good but not loud. I then ported my box with 3 inch pvc to 28hz, this made it much louder but not good enough. I then bought a sundown d1500, this made the most improvement out of all the upgrades but introduced port whistle at high volume. My box is now ported with 4 inch pvc at 27hz and will flex the crap out of the back of my truck.

Amazing sub! POWER HOUSE!

I bought two of these bad boys in September of '09 and they still set off car alarms! I had to tune my amp 1/4 up for the first three weeks to break them in. After i brought it to the shop, and had the amp re-tuned and OMGG i thought i was gonna go deaf. NO ONE at my school, can even step up to my level, these things knock so hard!!!

The only thing is, you should take your time in buying your amp, because you need a mighty powerful one to power these. I'd say an amp with at least 2500 rms @ 2 ohms because these subs can be wired at any ohm level out there. And you'll probably need a custom box. And don't try to install these yourself, unless you really know what your doing. They'll blow in a second if not installed properly.

If you want your truck knockin' buy one, if you're a bass fanatic buy two! I promise you, you've heard nothing like it. It'll kick the a** of almost every 10' and 12' subs out there. HANDS DOWN! Plus the subs look pretty cool. :D

OMFG!

Dam this Orion HCCA is by fair the best subwoofer i have ever own. This has some amazing, deep smooth bass. Also this sub broke my windshield with in the first week. If you own one i must say get a custom box for this it won't disappoint you at all. Im also running it at 4ohms with one big amp and a cap cell so i won't get dimming.

P.S. It worth every penny.

Awesome

I have 2 Orion 10" hcca. Great sounding subwoofer but you need a big amp to run them. The min is 2400 watts for 2 subs. My truck sounds bad a**

Weapons Grade Engineering

This is a serious piece of machinery and very power hungry. If you don't have an amp capable of pushing 1500W RMS you can't run this sub properly. It will get big SPL but I felt the sound quality was sacrificed. If you are looking for a serious high power sub with SQ try the Alpine Type X.

this sub is the best I have ever had!

This sub hits harder than a Memphis 15" and my buddy's 15" kicker comp. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't have a weak stomach because you will feel the beat.

Great Price for Great Sound

I've had this sub in a cheap $30 box until my custom box is done being built. Running about 350rms to it and going on 20hrs in the past 2 days. Hooking up 1500w rms RF on monday after i put another 20hrs on sub. Sounds good and is dramatically getting louder every other hour. The volume started at 20 and is now down to 15 because it starts rattling my single-cab yota so bad. Hits the low notes smooth and crisp even though not loud but still satisfies with those higher end bass notes. Can't wait till monday to push this thing!

GREAT SUBS

I steped down from a pair of 12's to these lil bad boys and I'm glad I did, I got 2 of these runnin off a Rockford BD2500.1cp and they're not even broken in yet and they pound hard. They need power and a good box to sound good my RF is rated at 3,200 at 1ohm and these subs love it, also I have them in a custom box, not a generic box with two 10 inch holes in it.

I am 50 been using Orion since its birth! Old school.

I have been a Orion abuser since its birth. Every piece of HCCA equipment I own still jams. Best Subwoofer for a 10 inch. Have recorded 138db with a single 10 inch HCCA.

ridiculously awesome subs

I got two of these only running 1100 rms to each and ive never felt bass like this. You can feel it deep in your chest i can only turn it up high for a few minutes. You can litterally feel the pressure the bass puts on your ears. If your looking to compete and have the best system around buy them dont hold back, their so worth the money, definitely reccommend these over any others. Just make sure you get great highs i got the infinity kappa 62.9is in all my doors with a 1000 watt amp pushin them. They are crystal clear LOUD. My tahoe sounds ridiculous.

Hcca = awesome

This thing is pretty amazing..I'm running it off of a RE VLX3DE (@1200 rms) its a little underpowered but that doesn't stop this sub from rattling the mirrors on the cars next to me. I love this subwoofer a definite recommendation on buying this machine!

Orion hcca 10

This sub is very high quality, would recommend to anyone provided they have the power to run it. I have a power acoustic 6000 mono powering one, I could use another one but this sub is power hungry!! Make sure you have a good power system for this baby! Very nice crisp middle and high bass, won't have deep bass until it's broken in. I highly recomend it for the person who has little space but wants high quality bass.

monster sub

Highly recomend this subwoofer. I own 1 of them in a ported box and the things hits hard i have it running off a hifonics brz2400.1d at 2 ohms and honestly its comparable to like 2 12's. I hear people say that a downside to it is that you need alot of power to run it etc... but what can you expect its underrated at 1500 rms if your gonna complain about having to buy a powerful amp buy a different speaker. They say it has to be mounted facing up i have mine facing towards the trunk and i havent seen any problems. Im about to get a second one for tremendous slap!

MONSTER SUBS!!!

SUBS: 2 Orions HCCA 10.4s

Car: 91' Z-24
Radio: Kenwood KDC-HD942u
Amp: Memphis Mojo MC-4000d
Line driver: Phoenix Gold 8v
Electrical: 1 Excessive Amperage 200a alt.; 1 g34 battery up front and 2 C&D 139ah batts in the trunk.
Wiring: 2 runs of Shok Industries 0 ga. power wire; Monster RCA's
Deadener: Raammat (out of Utah)

What does all this mean? AMAZING SUBS!!!! It shakes my dash as if there was a gorrila in it trying to get out.

If you're NOT looking to "compete" and just want to show your buddies what a MONSTER sub can do, these Orions are MONSTERS!!

They're NO a joke you guys. You MUST MUST MUST upgrade your electrical system so that you can have an amp that will actually push these subs.

One downside. One of my subs has started to crack a bit on the foam surround after about a year of MODERATE use. I only beat on them for MAYBE 5-10 minute intervals. Luckily these subs are easily fixed for a reasonable cost.

Hcca

So Ive had this sub in a pro box for about two weeks now, and it pounds and is already broken. but Ive only been giving it about 350rms. just for a break in time and just ordered a new amp so I'll be giving it about 1400rms in about a week or so. But even giving 350 rms It still sets off car alarms and shakes the elders in there cars.

Great value...... STRAIGHT BEAST

Bought 2 of the hcca 10s with the spl coil. Been hitting them with about 3600 to 4000 watts daily in a custom double 6in wide by 12in long. Curved the port ends. Cones are still as board. I'm buying 4 more so it will really slap. But make sure to upgrade your cars electrical because the subs and amp to love power.
