great quality @ cheap Prices
I searched high and low for reviews for these new Orion XTR amps and I was able to find almost zero. PASMAG did a nice review of this amp's big brother (google "Pasmag orion xtr3700.1d") that went a long way in easing any fears I had about unknown build quality and etc.
Look:
BadA$$. CNC machined, nice lines, and simplistic beauty. I am a strong believer that amps with chrome and flashy designs are an attempt to mask the shortcomings in performance. Look at some of the crapy amps out there (audiobahn comes to mind with all that stupid azz chrome). Let the performance do the talking I say.
Build Quality: Feels nice and heavy for it's size. Very similar to the audioque 2200 I had a couple years ago, as far as sturdiness is concerned.
Performance: A+. I have had it only a week, but sound quality and power output meet or exceed my expectations for sure. I clamped it the first day and mine did 2672 watts @13.92 volts. (I have 2 xs power d3400 and a mechman 240A alt) Most excellent.....
Overall:
I would put these in the same category as the Soundqubed 2200 and the Crescendo 2000 personally. Except it is over a $120 cheaper! I have had the Audioque 2000 (same as SQ 2200) and I am just as happy with the performance and more pleased with the price... All in all, an excellent purchase I think. I am going to be acquiring a second one actually very soon to pair with the first.
