PAC SWI-PS

This product satisfactorily allows me to control basic functions of a Pioneer AVIC Z3 in a '09 corolla. Installation and programming was easier than I anticipated, however the number of program functions are less than the factory functions. The operation is a little sluggish to at times.

Great

I have used this product for 6 months in Norway, and it's working perfectly. The installation was quite simple, and it only took me five minutes to get it right and working.

PAC SWI-PS - Steering wheel control interface.

I have a Pioneer AVIC-F900BT installed in an 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe.
To get the system to work together with the original Bose sound system I had to get an interface. After some evaluation I ended up with SoundGate DIGISTAR-XV4, it was easy to install and gas proved to be the right choice. To get the original steering wheel controls to work I had to provide the car with an interface for this to and it ended up with PAC SWI-PS - Steering wheel control interface. It came with all necessaries and was easy to install. The Pioneer AVIC-F900BT works very well now together with the original Bose sound system.

Simple

This is fairly simple to install, if you can read instructions and install the head unit you can do this. The only down side would have to be the delay, other than that it's great. It allowed me to keep the steering wheel controls on my 2000 Lincoln LS with the Pioneer 400UB head unit.

Great product. Can be difficult to Install.

I installed a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD head unit in my 2008 Nissan Altima using the PAC SWI-PS. This product works as stated. It keeps your stock steering wheel controls usable when an aftermarket radio is installed. The bad part is that it can be confusing to install. Use the PAC website for install instructions instead of the supplied instructions. This will make the install a bit easier.
There is nothing worse than looking at unusable buttons in your car. This product will take care of that.

Easy to setup, great to have

I was a little worried about how difficult this would be to setup and then program, but PAC really has the process down to a science and make it as easy as possible. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. They basically give you a flow chart and tell you which steps to do and which to skip depending on your setup.

Once I had everything wired up (no guessing, just read the instructions) it took me less than 5 minutes to get it programmed and working. I can't imagine not having my steering wheel controls, and thanks to this device, I won't have to experience that!

One other note: I've read some people talking about there being some delay (~0.5 seconds)from the time you hit a button until the unit responds. I can tell you that's completely untrue with this model. The response time is so near instant that you don't even notice there's any delay at all. The only time I've seen it slow down even a bit is if I hit multiple buttons in a quick sequence. It seems to take a small amount of time to catch up, but it's reasonable. You don't normally mash several buttons at once, so even this shouldn't be a problem.

Two thumbs up.

Works Great

Works great with my aftermarket Pioneer DVD head unit. I only had one problem when wiring it in with PACs MS-FRD1 unit in my 2011 Super Duty, the steering wheel controls would not function properly. PAC told me this is due to a older version of the MS-FRD1, so that needs to be exchanged for a newer one. Other than interference from the other unit this product works great even with Ford SYNC controls. Directions are a little complex at a first glance, but setup is fast and a simple press and release operation.

Great item`

This is a great item, works well. My unit was wrong, PAC tech support was helpful and i replaced it in sonic and got another one. Since im in canada, when its cold, the unit sometimes did not work until u restart it. The installation is pretty tricky but after a little reading its ok for anyone.

Lincoln TC & Jensen In-Dash Navi

Total disaster! Spent all this time for nothing. Instructions are vague & unclear. FORD 16 connector with pinout & wire colors is wrong. There are no such pins in those locations.
