Do your research, spend the extra money.

We just installed the headrests into our car for the kids. We thought we were getting a good deal on a set of 9" monitors with DVD player for the price. After taking them out of the box, we needed a bigger headrest adapter to fit our car. Most offer a variety of headrest post sleeves, but this one only came with one set, a 12 mm. I have to order a set from somewhere else, since I am finding that the manufacturer does not exists other than through a listed website with invalid phone numbers and email addresses.

Anyways, after getting by this, we come to find out that the main unit with the DVD player is the only unit with speakers, and the “B” unit is monitor only without speakers. Yes, both wire harnesses have the A/V connectors, but on the “B” unit the audio is female output only, and not input. The plug configuration doesn’t make much sense to me. The monitors seem to use the same housing to match but that is it, no speakers in the “B” unit. So this means that you must either use the small under-powered “A” unit speakers and hope that can be heard over the car noise, play them through the car radio via the FM transmitter, or buy IR headphones. Unfortunately both viewers must use the IR headphones for the signal to be heard.

The other quirk is the lack of instructions and somewhat unmanageable remote. There isn't much of an onscreen menu to navigate through the DVD easily, but I am still learning. The player is also somewhat slow in fast forwarding, but I have not yet tried many movies as it has only had a few kids movies through them... I’m sure that after some trial and error, the remote might get easier.
