Good extension cable

Sound quality is much better than the extension cable supplied by Audio-Technica with the headphones. The cable is 5mm thick so it is not nearly as flexible as the thin cables that come stock. Since I use it mainly with clip on headphones (ATH-EW9) and Shure in ear monitors it pulls on them if you move your head due to the short cord on the headphones. If you're using it with headband type headphones it's OK.
It does sometimes cut out on one channel when the connection is bumped but if you turn the connector a little or disconnect/reconnect it is fine.
Well worth the $ until I can find a better extension cable that's not an insanely expensive audiophile cable.

Looks are deceiving

I was using this cable as an extension from my stereo audio cable to my computer. Looks are VERY deceiving on this
cable. bad quality. I was getting an extreme signal loss using this with
a buzzing far louder than the music coming through it. The exposed female
port may account for some of the loss. Sooo.. I dissected it. The only
reason the cable is so thick is because the insulating jacket is very very
thick. the actual wires are extremely thin. "100% shielded helix twisted
design" doesn't actually exist. the thin wires are just covered with foil
tape. I know this is an inexpensive item, but it should be able to function
properly.
