Great item

This line driver woke my sleeping subs up! My head unit has a weak sub output but you couldn't tell it does now I highly recommend this unit.

Decent

This thing really does wonders if you have low RCA voltage on your stereo..... I have a Sony headunit that puts out 2 volts and I installed this and was amazed how much more my bass was hitting I had to turn down the gain settings all the way down on my amp because it made my RCA voltage much more stronger and cleaner ..... Great product highly recommend

A Great Buy

I was looking to increase the sound of my car audio system. I looked into this unit as well as a bass processor. I went with this and I have never looked back. The amount of output from this unit is great. It increased my system by leaps and bounds. I would recommend this product to anyone. And excellent shipping to me as usual form Sonic. A+ Will do business again. A great buy for the money.

Great product!

I bought this for a customer to boost up his headunit with 2v preouts. We instantly noticed a night an day difference with it installed behind the head unit. I really like the fact that it has dual gain pots under the cover, I was able to play with left/right amplitude and it improved the staging and center presence.
When properly installed and adjusted this will improve nearly any system.
Overall a great product from one of the pioneers of high quality car audio equipment.

Nice item, good value

Nice little line driver, solidly built and made in the USA. I don't particularly care for the style terminals but they're functional. Top pops off easily to adjust gains. The only real problem with this is there's no mounting holes or brackets so you'll have to get creative. Also keep the gains down unless you really need them up high. I had some overheating issues after swapping out head units to something with more output.

If your amp needs high voltage inputs this is a great piece to get it done with.

Found Gold TLD22

I think most people use this in car system but use it for my home outside stereo.It takes my creative ZEN to three receiver inputs on a pass through wiring. It does it well at half the gain possible. Very clean Too. The best of Three products I have tried in this system.

I BOUGHT THIS 2 DAYS AGO AND INSTALLED IT YESTERDAY IT HAS LOTS OF POWER IF U OPEN THE BOX UP U CAN SEE IT HAS THE ADJUSTMENTS IN THE INSIDE I ONLY TURN IT 4 NOTCHES AND IT IS VERY LOUD I WAS SHAKING THE GARAGE DOOR ..AND ALL WINDOWS AT HOME ..... I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS IF U WANT LOUDER CLEANER BASS.....

Amazing

I had no idea this would work so well. I don't even have the adjustments at 50 percent and now my amp gain is at 10 percent compared to 60 percent. It helps with the power draw from my amp so my lights don't dim near as bad. This definitely clears up the bass and makes it louder. Be careful with the gain after this product!

bought the phoenix gold tld22 because i was not able to get enough volume out of my sansa mp3,it was very easy to hook up between the mp3 and the amp,now it rocks.would highly recommend this product

This is a nice little unit. Well thought out and very usefull. It really helped clean up the signal to my bass amp. I was also able to lower the
input gain in turn made the amp run cooler and sound cleaner . Great unit for $20.00 delivered.

The Best

Works awesome, converts 2 through 5 volt pre out and boosts them to 9 to 12 volts, awesome clean reception over long rcas like 7 or more feet wire i would recommend this product, cleans lots of distortion with clean power. Better on the whole system, the if you want to hook up ten amps it still keeps strong and clean signal. Very nice.

Nice unit

Was able to drive more signal into my stock subs when using an aftermarket radio. Worked great, didn't introduce any noise.

Pre-amp for my iPod

I purchased the TLD22 to boost the output of my iPod on the way to a small car amplifier. They are together in a box, which is powered by the car battery. I use it as a portable, better than stock, car stereo that can be moved from car to car, friends' cars, etc. I did not want to have to include a head unit (in the box) to go between the iPod and the amp. It has worked perfectly, just as conceived. Since the gain controls on the TLD22 and on the amp are obscured by the box enclosure, I only have the iPod to control the volume. That would be the only design weakness of this project. But the TLD22 is a great little signal booster with an amazing price. I did this entire project for under $100, not including speakers. I use an old pair of Polk all weather patio speakers. Perfect for tailgating and car camping.

Great Product

I have a sony deck and it only has 0.1v pre out at listening volume. I have the tld22 tuned to 4.0 volts and i barely have to use my gain on the amp!

Excellent Unit

I have used this unit to amplify the output from my Harman-Kardon Drive+Play Ipod dock, before it interfaces with my BMW factory headunit.
Without this unit, the volume was too low, but this unit installed easily and was able to be adjusted, so the volume matches other sources on the Headunit - Great! Recommended to all, seems to be a well constructed unit.

excellent product and does exactly what it's supposed to do

If you have a low output voltage from your deck (2.0 volts on my Alpine) then this is the way to go. A really cheap way to really boost your input into your amp. Increased my outputs several dB. I've been very pleased with the product.

The only slight negative on the product is you can't mount the thing because there aren't screw holes anywhere, so you have to tuck it away instead of displaying it.

I have a Sony deck that only outputs ~ 0.4v for the preouts and that made it so I had to turn the gain all the way up on the amp to reach the output desired. The Phoenix Gold TLD22 allowed me to have the gain set at only 1/4th of the way!

I tuned it to exactly 4v on each channel and I couldn't be happier!

Amazing Item, Value

I have used these personally in my audio shop for the last 2 years.
Customers who were looking to Ditch/Replace amps have been blown away EVERY TIME that a line driver of this quality has increased the output of there amp(s) due to the low preamp input from ANY DECK/LINE LEVEL CONVERTER.

This does NOT make the amp put out more power than it can.Simple explanation, aftermarket headunits still fail to provide enough true output voltage (due to weak preamps internally with a high resistance.)
These have a true High output PREAMP unlike anything available in a deck.

For example, Maxxsonics branded amps especially benefit as the input section needs a higher voltage input than any deck currently provides.

Simply, most amps can not be driven with enough deck input voltage without a line driver. And especially still have a CLEAN input signal.

I would totally recommend this to anyone who is looking for more bass, without upgrading their components or someone like myself who has a system running off the stock headunit, which doesn't put out much signal voltage.

this things works just like it says, definitely made my system hit harder, its just a little black box you can mount almost anywhere, nice solid housing, and very simple connections

HOLY CRAP

I never thought that such a small box could do so much. For once, I had to turn the bass volume on my amp down from +15. It's currently sitting at +4 and I currently leave my sub volume on the head unit at 0. So, don't waste your money on a $300 line driver, get one of these and you will not be disappointed. Install was fairly straight forward too. Instead of putting it behind your head unit, fold down two of the four tabs that hold the driver together and then screw it onto your sub box. All in all though, not a waste of money.

I have had the tld22 installed for about 3 months without any problems, I have owned a few phoenix gold products and they make some of the best equipment in car audio.

great for the price

For the price, this is a great product, I was only getting 1.4V from my deck and adding this made it run a little better, the only downside is no way to control the how much power it puts out, and it's not easily mountable, mine's just hidden below the seat

Fantastic Product

After fitting three amplifiers and a active eq to my car and not wanting to use a headunit , I needed something to increase the output from my Ipod to drive into the eq. This Phoenix Gold TLD22 did the trick.
I was able to get the exact level required.

i read the reviews and still had no idea!

I read the reviews and was apprehensive at first because i already ran an eclipse 3100 that boasts the ability to push a 5v signal. I had good SQ sound with decent low end bass, but like most people addicted to car audio i wanted more......
i thought i would give this line driver a test, with its 8v output maybe i could get even more bass. I had no idea! this product rocks! MY bass is cleaner, tighter, and louder even at a lower volume. so weather your head unit pushes a 5 or .5V signal, rest assured this line driver will make a difference and improve your system's quality. straight forward design and connection makes this product an ease to install. WOW!

works great...takes the wimpy 2 volt preouts of my Alpine deck and cranks them up to 8 volts! Made my 1000 watt sub amp sound like its kicking out 3000!!!!

Dramatic difference!

This driver makes a huge difference in the quality of sound! Makes any head unit sound great! Really makes a difference in the quality of the sound, and eliminates the whining caused by most noise sources. I would recommend this to anyone!

I have used this unit to amplify subwoofer output from carputer to amplifier and this unit does the job, but don`t increase signal too much or you can loose SQ. Great product for really low price. Fantastic customer service and fast shipping to Europe.
