Good in car DVD

I have this installed in my car and like it. Some minor inconveniences could be easily fixed if Pioneer would update the software.

In random play mode include a next random button.

Add in track seek or fast forward/rewind buttons.

When in list mode it doesn't grab all the file names, only the nearby ones so you get 'net ready' as a file name for other directories.

Add xvid playback support in addition to divx playback.

i put this in my 02 Monte Carlo and it just looks amazing. it puts out great sound quality compared to stock. only thing that bothers me is the plain background

Spot On

I got this unit in 2009 and it's served me well for almost more than 3-1/2 years. It did everything I needed it to, except play videos via USB. It also lacked the ability to change the screen saver. Of course, there are better units out there 5 years later but this was solid. so if you run across a used one for a great price, don't hesitate to pick it up.

I changed the unit out in favor of a in-dash tablet set up but before that one of the rca pre-outs (the LF to be exact) stopped working. I read several things online about it being a Pioneer unit issue related to a pico fuse.

Great Product Even Better Price

I was looking for a system for my new Trailblazer and during my search I say an as for Sonic Electronix. The radio is easy to use and works great. I loaded all my music on a 16 gig thumb and now I will not use my cd's as much. I also added the xm unit and it works great. Supper good sound and easy easy to use.

Good Head Unit

For the price its great. Wanted a double-din that was easy to use with my ipod and was inexpensive, and thats what I got. Looks great in the car, would recommend.

I have used this in store to test out a few things that are not obvious in the manual.

No way to put your own background.

USB is fast, it is usb 2.0.

File browsing is awesome as it will display subfolders. Most receivers only show a flat list of folders that contain files making it really hard to browse if you have many folders and songs. This guy is awesome for this as you can have folders for genre, artist, album and then the songs contained in the albums folder. I love subfolders and hate flat lists.

It doesn't offer many other features and the browsing and graphics is pretty basic.

It is hard to beat.

One of the best parts is that it has a volume knob.

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD

I like this DVD player! Works great.... Also have a screen hooked up to it too! Gets a little hot but it works all the time. Fit in my 08 tC no prob.

Good unit

Everything works the way i wanted it to. EQ was kinda hard setting it the way I wanted but a lil time playing around with the unit solved the problem.

awsome Double Din unit

wow this unit is awesome. i like this way better than the jensen i used to have. it looks so much nicer on my charger. first of all, because it doesn't block the air vents like my flip out used to and the mp3 playback is nice. i like that, since that's how i listen to my music.

AVH-P4000DVD ROCKS!

This thing is awesome! Sound quality is alot better than the avh-6500 I replaced. Endless features and it DOES HAVE SUBWOOFER functions with bass booster settings for hard hitting bass. DVD picture and sound is great! I would recommend this product without a doubt.

Its an alright product but the only thing i dont like is that you cant set your own background but other than that it is a great product and would recomend it to anyone

This head unit is terrific, very straight forward user friendly and flushes right into dash. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone looking for a name brand, inexpensive head unit.

Slick, Very classy look

Works great, Easy to use. I love the sound that pioneer puts out. Built in mosfet amp. I do recommend this DVD player. Mine looks great and has back up camera.

Great bang for your buck

This is a great CD/DVD player for your car. It has plenty of power, great sound, and is VERY easy to use. The screen is very crisp and has great brightness and contrast. It was easy to install, and even easier to operate. The unit itself has a very simple look, which I found very appealing. It also has some nice touches in the different options it has for customizing how it looks. There are different background styles, colors, brightnesses, and you can even change the colors of the 4 lit buttons on the outside. You can even have those 4 buttons continue to cycle through different colors randomly. You can also turn the display OFF if you want to. It can be a bit bright at night, so I really appreciated that option. I've had no trouble with it whatsoever, and have absolutely no regrets in buying it. :)

Everything I was Looking For!!!

I bought theAVH 4000 to replace my avh-6500 that went bad. This thing has basically the same features minus the screen saver no big deal though, I mainly turn the display off when i'm not watching movies! It has amazing sound and endless features for expansion. DVD looks and sound Great. Another review stated no sub-out, he must not have hooked it it right. plug rca to rear out go to your audio menu and set rear to full and you can control your subs like most other pioneer units. It has my 3 JL 10'sss beating harder than the avh6500 did and it has a bass booster also.You will not be disappointed it is the best thing out there for the money and Sonic Electronics is a great company to deal with.

Very Happy

The more I use this head unit the more I like it. Purchased for the touchscreen and USB input and glad I did, both work better than I expected. Played a DVD for testing and was impressed at the picture quality. Definitely a sound improvement over the factory Shaker 500 head unit.

I love this only thing I dont like is having to use a relay to bypass the e brake feature oh well easy enough to do.

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD

Great piece of equipment. It does all that I wanted it for and I am very pleased. Definitely would recommend buying this. Works great.

No sub woofer output

Be aware this is a nice unit but it does not have a sub output. If you want to use a sub woofer you must use your rear speakers coming off the unit unless you "Y" off to the sub you wont have rear speakers. As stated by others you cant change to a nice background (well you can but its either tiny little blocks, medium blocks, or big blocks). The clock is just a tiny display in the corner and cant be changed. If the display is off the clock does not show.

Overall though, good unit, especially for the price.

this product is truly authentic and amazing.The touch screen is very responsive and there are many cool features. For the price, it's well worth every penny. I am contemplating on getting a satellite tuner for it to expand it's feature. GREAT PURCHASE!!!

best dvd player i have ever used

After using a number of dvd players from a wide range of brands, it is my opinion that the avh-4000dvd is the best player you can buy. Not only is the screen vividly clear and it shows evry kind of dvd,cdr, etc. but the sound quality is unmatched. This player sounds incredible. I am so impressed with this player that if this player does not make your audio system sound crystal clear, I challenge you to counteract my review and let me know why. Only problem is that it should come with a remote control.

one word for this deck AMASING the picture is crystal clear the fuctions work seemlessly and it gives you plenty of tuning control for the average listener. plenty of features and the usb input make this a no brainer. a nav. add-on option would be nice try to follow kenwood's example pioneer

I kept it, and love it

The non-button buttons can get a little small and on a bumpy road it can be a little hard to push at times but it is good quality, and you can add whatever you want to it using the ibus, like DSp (digital sound processing) or HD radio, CD changer, etc. The USB port is really great; I can go through all my music through files and subfolders. I can name a file rock and go to all my rock music in that file and the buttons you do push are good quality, and they don't feel like you will break them. but it's pioneer, they make good stuff and I would definitely recommend this unit
