Great Head unit with lots of features.

First impression; Great looking GUI, button layout is pretty good, FIts nice and flush with the bezel kit with the lower interface sticking out.

Touch screen is pretty accurate for a in-car system. I've had a few that you had to press once or twice to get what you wanted.

So many Color choices, matched my orange nissan lighting perfectly, you'd think its a OEM instal!

Volume control / EQ software is great and accurate.
( I love the physical button volume controls).

The audio just from this deck brought my paper speakers to life, huge improvement. Held me off a few months before getting new speakers.

The Appradio app can be clumsy and could use some work.

Mirror Link from my HTC One M8 works pretty well, Though the screen fresh time (From when you swipe/drag) is noticeably slow, but you can't expect much more from a USB cable without going USB 3.0 and updating the software a lot.

I LOVE, (and i cant express it enough) the fact that you only need ONE, yes i said ONE cable to connect your phone for mirrorlink / Appradio. No buy our pioneer special cable bull&*# nonsense. USB Male-Female extension is included. You can use your USB cable to operate the device. (NO 40$ cables from pioneer required!) at least in my experience.


I recommend this head unit, lots of bells and whistles for the price. And i am all about price/performance.

Great Radio

This DVD player is great. I love the features and the amount of tuning available is why I always choose Pioneer. Having the old Pioneer Premier 980BT, I was kind of bummed that Pioneer did away with the feature of putting your own personal pictures on as background pics or screensavers. Also, I wish they would update the software so I can use the MirrorLink feature with my Note 4. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great unit that just got better!!!

I ordered the Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS because of the vast variety of features it has. Installing was easy with the Schoshe mount and harness, and the e-brake bypass cable is a must.
Love being able to play video and use apps while the car is in drive.
Perhaps the coolest feature about the Pioneer is the new "Appradio One", which allows you to use only one cable, the USB-lightning for iPhone or USB-USB for android to use appradio mode instead of having to get the insane number of adapters. Available through a free firmware update.
Overall this unit rocks, amazing sound output and a plethora of features.
Sonic Electronix made it extremely easy to get everything together I needed, and I LOVE this pioneer. *highly recommended*

Best deck I have ever installed

I installed this deck for a friend and wow... this deck is incredible. There are so many different ways to make your sound perfect for whatever type of music you listen to. The 4V preouts put out very strong and clean signals. And there is so much customization you can mess around with to make it do what ever you want. It has already exceeded my expectations and i feel like I have only scratched the surface.

Great screen for the price. Cool visual and audio customization. Looks amazing in my dodge charger and works well with my galaxy s4. The only downside is it only shows album art via bluetooth using a iPhone or Pandora. If u connect it using usb it shows the album art.

Nice Radio

This is my second pioneer in recent years before this i had the 4400bhs and decided to get this one. I love the new software and when you do the upgrade it adds more functionality to the radio. You cant go wrong with this radio.

Love it, could be more user friendly though

Love it, but they seemed to have forgotten something, like an off button. If it's there, I can't find it, and it isn't in the manual either! The only way I see how is to select AV source and touch off. Why can't they put that on the screen as soon as you touch the source button? Would have liked it more if the song titles and artist names could be displayed on a line longer than 10 characters or whatever. You're forced to sit and wait for the rest of the info to scroll in. Perhaps all RDS systems are like this? LOVE the radio otherwise. Definitely delivers more powerful sound than stock radio in Toyota camry non-jbl radio. My inside door panels rattle, have to lower bass and adjust sound to keep it clean. I also wish the display would tilt towards you (top part towards you), you can only tilt the bottom part out towards you. It could use a dedicated seek + and - Instead of the awful press and hold for a second, also can't get the scan tuning (where it plays each station for 5 seconds and goes to the next one) to work as instructed in the manual. No need for a bypass with this radio, just ground the brake wire, you know, so you can watch this movie without needing to pull the e brake. I expect this to last a while. Even in sub-zero weather, lcd opens and closes strongly. Lcd touch panel needs to be just a bit more sensitive, just a bit...

Great unit. Pioneer has come a long way.

The only negative that I can say about this unit is that it seems to have a hard time staying connected to HD (digital) radio. As a result, the listening experience when using the radio suffers. Every time the unit acquires or loses a digital signal, the sound stutters slightly. It is very noticeable. However, if radio isn't your main concern then this may be the unit for you. Bluetooth sounds great and displays artwork when using Pandora. There are plenty of EQ options and so many settings it may be a little overwhelming for some. In my opinion it's better to have more than not enough.

Put this in your Porsche

I highly reccomend this product I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on this and I am glad I did. It made my stock sound system ( non Bose with standard Plus package with 7 speakers. It has a great eq I love the app radio and wish there were more apps. I did have to buy a bunch of adapters to make it work with my iPhone 5S over $100. But now I charge my phone and I can use google maps, Spotify sounds awesome. I use hands free siri for listening to message play back ,phone calls and text messages. I am very pleased with the mounting kit as well so if you have a Porsche Boxster Non Bose system it is an inexpensive huge upgrade as well as having all the cool features and I also put the Porsche emblem on the wallpaper of the 7" screen..Looks and sounds great

I have been using this headunit for about a month now. I'm very satisfied with it. Installation was easy, sound is clear, screen is perfect. Only complaint I could say is the menus can be a little confusing, but not too bad. I definitely recommend.

Worth Every Penny

This radio is by far the best head unit i have ever owned it exceeded my expectations by far it is a radio unlike any other it has so many features that i would have totally payed $800 for it the quality and style of the radio is gorgeous fits flawlessly in my 2004 trailblazer and if your a true audio fanatic your amps will love the 4v pre outs as much as i do the resolution of the screen is amazing everything loads quick i got a flash drive with 9gigs of music and it has the music playing with in seconds the way it slides down to insert disc into it is very cool Bluetooth is down right perfect for calls and audio streaming i could go on for hours on this radio but overall this radio WILL exceed your expectations too some it may be a bit pricey but believe me it is more than worth every single penny.

Okay this unit is by far better than its close rivals, easy to use also easy to understand, probly the best thing i have changed in my honda. If i didnt know the price and had to guess i would say 700 easy i would pay, it looks like a million bucks, very durable and easy to clean .... all the features is very nice.

Good product doing what it's suppose to do . Come with instalation kit for my corolla 2006 worked like a charm and nice look . Bluetooth Mic could be upgraded for a better one ... DVD playback should have a full screen settings otherwise the unit works well . Nice unit !

Amazing deck it does whatever you need, yeah there are some out there with more eq options but this is worth the buy if your having a full loaded system, it's easy to work with and has lots of convenient auxiliary ports. Definitely would recommend.

AWESOME

I have had several of pioneer's radio options in my vehicle's and this one is the best by far. I also install car stereo equipment and must say I recommend this radio whenever I can. It links up perfectly with android phones and allows complete control with Pandora thru Bluetooth, even shows album artwork and title tracks. Great job for finally putting everything you need in one radio. Thanks pioneer. Also thanks Sonic Electronic for always having the cheapest prices in town.

Bought this unit for my wife's car and she is very happy with the purchase. Strengths for her include the quality of bluetooth phone calls and Pandora. She does complain about Pandora repeatedly asking for registration on unit. She probably just needs to spend some time on this issue. Easy installation. Sonic price was great for this unit and I am impressed with their customer service.

I had the app radio 3 from September 2013 until the end of Feb 2014. I hated that thing. I had to swipe this and unlock the phone and allow that... just to play music. It was an annoying pos and I almost gave up on Pioneer it was so bad.

This deck however is great. I plug in my iPhone and it goes directly to the iPod player. I can stick my phone in a compartment and not look at it again. There are more outputs, an aux input, HD Radio, more eq bands, direct connect for iPhone 5 (no special adapters other than the usb to lightning or additional software required), 4 volt outputs, and these are just a few of the options that the 5600 has that the Appradio 3 did not. The overall interface has a much better layout and responds much faster as well. There is also a clock visible when listening to the iPod where as on the Appradio, it did not have a visible clock. Since the deck is my only clock in my truck, this is nice when driving to work. I also like that I do not have to hit ok every time I turn on the deck to see the user interface like I had to with the Appradio 3, I know that watching videos while driving is dangerous, I do not need to hit ok several times a day.

I do not like the auto eq. and I thought I would. It sets the highs way to bright and almost no lows and once they are set, you cannot adjust. Other than that, the sound quality is great especially on lossless files. I can really hear the difference between 192 k and below mp3's vs. lossless with this deck and the Polk mm's I am running. I also like how I can adjust the colors to match my factory lighting colors.

I am getting ready to install a rear view camera so I have not used that functionality yet. The only thing that I can think of that I wish it could do is provide me the ability to rate songs on my iPhone, just a quick touch of the screen like the thumbs up or down on the Pandora player.

Awesome New 2013 Head Unit

This unit has EXCELLENT stereo/sound separation. Listening to your regular music library will sound like a brand new experience. Guitars from the left and right sides are more emphasized and the lead singer is clearly in the middle along with the drums.
Only reason I took 2 points away is because the graphic equalizer in my opinion has a pretty large flaw/gap in it. I was hoping that Pioneer would fix this from last year. There are no eq adjustments above 10 khz. Really? Come on Pioneer! This is software now, you could easily make this a 30 band graphic eq if you wanted to! For sound adjustment you really need adjustments above 10khz because by just adjusting the 10 khz band for treble you increase the dreaded sibilance (when you get ear piercing high notes that are harsh and bad sounding). This unit needs a minimum of 2 more bands...16 khz and 20 khz and preferably an extra 3rd band at 12 khz. Like I said above though...it's all software now....very VERY easy to really make the graphic eq be a 30 band if they wanted to. They have one on their higher end single din PRS80 model. Let's see something be added to the firmware of the double din units.
The unit comes packed with a lot of features. Could it have more? Yes. But for the price point it is at, it comes well optioned. Bluetooth, HD Radio (that works very well I will add) and Sirius ready. I would love to see a little more from the time correction they have added to this model. The built in crossover/features is nice for the subwoofer but this should be across the board. The front and rear channels should have their own dedicated crossover/adjustments as well.
Pioneer really has stepped up the game with this unit as well as the others in the 2013 lineup. With some minors tweaks (as noted above), this could be a home run of a head unit.

Not happy at all with the unit. Mixtrax doesnt work right at all. You will never use this feature once you test it. I thought it would be nice to have it but its lame. Can barely see the screen during the day. Better have limo tint. App mode will not work out of the box. Fought with it all night long to find out i was wasting my time. You have to have a special cable that wasn't mentioned on the ad. Album art wont show on half my tracks. The screen quality is horrable. The album art that does show up looks very poor. Loading videos from a flash drive takes forever. I wanted to use pandora and waze. No you cant unless you order that special wire from ebay.

Love it, when it works.

I'm on my second unit now. The first one worked very well until it just wouldn't eject the disk form the cd/dvd slot. The App radio is nice, while still a little limited. The sound is good, but I am using a JL Audio amp to push my speakers, so the built in amplifier is not doing a thing. I live in a rural area, so the HD radio is limited, but what stations are available in HD sound decidedly better than the analog stations. And I am quite pleased with the satellite radio integration. It is seamless. Overall, this unit works very well and has an impressive feature set. I just hope this second one lasts longer than the 7 months the first one did. I've owned a number of different brands of Head Unit from Eclipse to Panasonic, and everything else always lasted. Hopefully Pioneer will do the same.

All you could ask for...

This is the most versatile, easy to use head unit I've ever used. It was easy to install and after getting used to it, it is easy to use. I love the rear view camera monitor function. I use the Bluetooth audio feed most often to listen to Pandora Radio. I also use the USB feed that I extended to the dash of my Nissan Titan truck. Another supplier told me this unit would not fit, they were wrong...I'm glad I didn't use that "crutch" and relied on better advice.
I would strongly recommend this head unit.

installed in a 2008 tundra

i've owned this unit since early feb 2014. i'm going to break down each rating and why i rated it so.
OVERALL, this is a great unit. the display is huge, video is beautiful and it's easy to navigate which is a plus. i like that the buttons are located on along the bottom, it keeps the unit looking clean. ipod functionality is great, although, i haven't had much time to play around with app radio, but it seems ok for now. android interface (i'll touch more on this later) through bluetooth works almost perfect. i'm loving the 4v preamp outs and the 8 band para equalizer.

VALUE, although this is a great unit pioneer gives you NOTHING, you're lucky they give you a remote with this. audio through ipod works fine with a standard ipod usb cable, but if you want to play video, you must buy the pioneer ipod video cable for $75 (hint, buy a generic one on ebay for like $15). Extra nav unit is expensive, not sure on the exact price, i didnt buy it, but i think you can use a nav app with app radio from your iphone, not positive. if you want mirrorlink, throw in another $100. when all is said and done you can be looking at spending a few hundred extra bucks on extras, so value ranked pretty low in my eyes, but i knew that going into this unit anyway, so it wasnt too big a deal for me.

DURABILITY, seems pretty solid to me so far.

FEATURES, ok, so this is where i'll express a little frustration with this unit. i bought this because of it's android interface capabilities, which, without mirrorlink, seems to only be compatible through bluetooth. i've tried to connect through usb but it will not recognize my phone. i have a galaxy s4, running android 4.1, so it's not like im using some out dated phone. so it looks as if in the fututr, i will indeed be needing mirrorlink, which i did not count on previous to buying the unit, hence my low rating on value. also like i said, i can't really comment to much on app radio as i don't have an iphone so i haven't been able to really try it out yet. pandora is a cool idea in a sense, but i dont use it too much because i dont want to go over my data, i wish they would have integrated more online music choices such as spotify or google play, both let you download music for offline use.

EASE OF USE, as i stated earlier, this unit is easy to navigate and you won't get lost in a mess of menus and sub menus. pretty straight forward.

Superb multimedia deck with a great price.

This unit is one of the best additions I've made to my complete rebuild. Full Bluetooth for phone and streaming. A beautiful GUI which has been updated and simplified from previous models amd gorgeous display capable of full DVD quality playback. The tuning and expandibility features make for audiophile reproduction it's closet competition alpine can match its features but surely costs more. Trust me, don't be fooled by off brand multimedia receivers that cost less. Your deck is the heart of your system and will last you for countlless years if you make the right purchase. Get a 2013 model with 2009 pricing and 2015 features.

Great value.

This was installed in a 2006 F-150 and fitment was perfect. Used it with the stock speakers and it helped a lot with sound quality. Good price for a good In-dash dvd player.

Seems great so far

Everything works as expected so far. There are WAY more features on this deck than I was aware of. Not the worst problem to have.

Installation was pretty simple. The Metra harness that Sonic included with the deck matched up perfectly with my Altima's factory harness. Running backup camera wires from the trunk was the most time-consuming part.

The touch screen interface responds pretty quickly. But it lags significantly when scrolling through long lists of settings or Artists/Albums on the connected USB drive.

HD Radio sounds great and picks up strong signals in the Phoenix area for most major stations. It will also include album art for many songs, which I found surprising and cool.

Pandora and Bluetooth audio playback work pretty flawlessly. Connecting my iPod is also a breeze.

Sound quality is great. I was surprised with how much it improved even though it is still pushing the factory speakers with no amp. The video resolution is pretty low. But considering that it's a screen in my frikking dash, I'm very pleased. Especially at this price.

Awesome Stereo

This stereo is absolutely awesome! It has everything I was looking for in an after market head unit. The HD Radio,IPOD ready, Sirius XM ready (I purchased separately), Pandora, DVD, CD player, hands free phone (I purchased steering wheel controls) and everything else is fantastic. I am very impressed with this unit. It can also have a separate navigation and rear camera installed. I just didn't want to spend the extra money for those items at this time. I would highly recommend this product.

Great Head unit

I purchased this unit primarily for the iPod feature. Pioneer's have the best interface for the iPod. What's also great about this unit that it didn't require an expensive cable to connect the iPod like previous models. Also look at all the add on equipment you can put on this unit.

The Unit!!!!!

A friend told me to buy this unit and I told him I had a Sony that did everything I needed. He let me drive his car for a day and I ordered one that night! It has so much eq, head room (running @ 10 out of 40), features galore, rear usb so you can put nano in glove compartment, it is unbelievable all the things you can do with this unit. My system will now rival anybody doing competition!

I own both the avh4300dvd nd the avh4400dvd nd I still perfer the older 4300 then the 4400 love it would buy it again and again!!! Highly recomend this deck good price

Excellent product

Installed this deck about a month ago, and it works absolutely perfect. I love the 7inch screen and all the bells and whistles this thing comes with. It made a big improvement power wise over the stock deck in my 07 explorer. After installing my pioneer 6x8's there was another significant increase in sound quality and performance. The crisp high's and nice bass. The only downside is no anti-glare on the screen. Hard to watch movies when sun shines directly on the screen.

I love it, but i cant play music videos that ive burnt off my computer with it. im sure its just me but thats the only problem ive had with it, it even wont play some that i got off line, but all in all its a great stereo.

This is a great double din stereo deck. It is completely state of the art from my old touch screen and I really like the iPod control and movie capability.

Best stereo ever owned

i had the previous model and this new version is awesome. i love the fact that u can add on navigation in the future. there is no CD changer controls but i guess CD's are a thing of the past. the rear audio video output is great for the screens in the rear seats for the kids. great screen size and control.

great sound

I like it very much, now I know there's no comparison between quality sound of a car factory head unit and an after market head unit, the only thing i can think that don't please me that much it's the quality image of the screen, in this times we're use to watch all in HD (laptops,cellphones, tablets), after all... great choice!

Great Service, Great Head Unit!

This went into a 2006 Ford F250 Super Duty Pick up.First of all, Thank You SONIC! I placed an order for this Stereo Unit on line, Bought 2nd day delivery and got it when they said I would! The unit arrived in fine shape, Could use a few more packing peanuts though. Slightly dinged corners on the outer box. The unit is a heck of a lot better than the Kenwood DDX770 that I installed a week ago. Much better sound and a better selection of mix options. The Siriusxm stations are displayed along with the tune name and artist. I can plug into my ipod 5 with the AUX Usb and the unit will pick it up. The KW would not do this.Blue tooth works great, quick to mate up with the iphone. Display has just enough bling to be nice and not stupid looking. The install was easy with the soldering of the harness taking more time than the install its self. Steering wheel interface matched up with the unit after a reset of the steering wheel interface. Everything worked and worked fast! This Pioneer unit has more bang for your money than the Kenwood DDX770. I am a real fussy dude about this stuff and I am more than happy with the Pioneer. Also everyone should know that BEST BUY "WILL NOT PRICE MATCH" SONIC'S price. So be patient and order from "SONIC" and save yourself a butt load of money! Use the money you save and donate to my Maui condo fund! All I need to do now is pack up the KW pos and return it to Best Buy.

Well Worth it

I have had plenty of other units like this but Pioneer did a good job of keeping what works and simplifying everything else. The touch screen is really fast. The EQ is great for fine tuning. Bluetooth and HD radio are worth the money. Picture is very clean. Remote comes in handy. Just tons of features. I love to watch DVD's on here. And its really easy to wire a relay to bypass the parking brake. Not to smart to have a movie playing while driving lol.

I have had it in my 2005 Camry for 6 months and this one is gonna stay. I run 2 Alpine Type R SWR-12DA powered by a Crescendo BC2000D (amp out plays my Rockford 2500bdCP)at a 1 ohm load. Alpine SPX-17pro (front doors) Alpine SPR-69 (rear deck) powered by a Alpine PDX-F4. All powered by a 270 amp alternator with a Kinetik 1800hc power cell under the hood and in the trunk. And by far this was the best product in my car. Just go get it. My only complaint is that I should've waited for the AVH-P8400BH to get in stock.

worth it

Love this headunit. Fits great with the jdm bezel, the picture is great and having the sd slot saved me from a few musicless drives when I forgot my iPod. I wish that the ipod interface was a little more similar to how it is on the ipod itself but that's tolerable.

Bought this unit a couple weeks ago & it's great, I installed it in my 07 Yukon Denali. Works great w/my 4gen iTouch touch screen is fast response it's a must have if you own a truck or suv.

Technology

What to say, I have owned my pioneer deck for 6 months now. Mirror link finally started working this last month, useless. Crappy app that uses poor music player, poor navigation app, etc. I do like the pandora radio, however it won't work with mirror link? Also integrated phone won't work with mirrorlink? Who thought of this? Very dangerous ui. Don't I repeat don't buy it for mirror link. The DVD player is nice, the sound quality is good, support is slow and unfocused, for example three year old or older phones work great with this radio, only late model phones, ie. A year or two old aren't supported. Really, don't support new technology only old? Like I said, don't buy it for the gimmicks. Actually buy something else.

very solid unit in its price range

About the best unit out there right now in the price range compared to kenwood, alpine, sony. I usually prefer kenwood but for the price this Pioneer is hard to beat!

Does everything I wanted it to do. A little slow when scrolling the iPod menu, but not enough to get annoying. Good quality video and sound, easy to use equaliser and iPod interface. Perfect for any cars stereo system.

Ive had this unit for about 6 months now it works amazing the preamp outputs work amazing. I paired this unit with the a series pioneer speakers and buddy let me be the first to tell you that im thinking hooking an amp to the door speakers may not be good for my health as its already super loud. I also used a preamp output to feed my subs its a 4 volt output so the subs (2 rockford d412) sound amazingly clear and powerful. The layout of the unit is top quality and easy to work with as is tge 7 band eq which made all the difference and making the door speakers keep up with the 1200 watts pushing my subwoofers. I could go on but ill just leave you with this buy this deck u wont be disappointed. Make sure u catch a good ground when installing for better signal and clarity.

Love it so far

I purchased this to replace my older Pioneer and the added features are well worth the cost. Built in bluetooth is very nice. This unit plays all the types of files I have thrown at it. Windows Media, Mp3 and so on. The HD radio is also a huge plus.
I have XM radio and this unit shows the full title of songs. It has features I did not know existed while playing XM songs.

Nice DVD Receiver

I received this DVD receiver six months ago and it has worked well until last month when the Bluetooth module became defective. While awaiting repair, I installed a Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS which has a nicer display in that it can be adjustably dimmed separately for both day and night use. Both receivers have equally good audio without an amplifier, if quality speakers are used. I'm waiting for the AVH-P4400BH to be repaired, but I sure do like the AVH-X5500BHS.

Really love this Stereo!

Good quality, a bit on the expensive side but you won't be dissapointed. I really like the iPod control from the touchscreen and Bluetooth calling from the car speakers. Sounds so much better than my stock stereo for sure. The only thing I didn't like was that the unit doesn't dim at night and it's really bright so I always have to turn off the display. And I wish I could remove the face plate for anti-theft reasons. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Bought this head unit to replace a kenwood excelen in-dash dvd player. i liked it so much i purchased another one for my truck. Very easy to use and has a great display. Works with xm tuner great and allows for dvd type recording for your 6 preset stations

Great product except for one thing. I got this unit instead of the Bluetooth version because i wanted my i pod cables to be hidden and the bt 200 add on box dose not have the same functions as the bt in dash unit. It wont allow my phone book to be added and other stuff. Other than that best deck I've had and I've had plenty.

be careful

The radio nicely does almost everything I need it to. The mirror link add on is only 1.0 Please take note of your phones ability to mirror link. My droid is 1.1 and will not mirror with this radio. Otherwise I love everything else about the radio, 3 sets of RCA (front,rear,sub). They are 4v output so sound quality is fairly good. HD radio is neat, but slips in and out of HD and analog so I usually keep it shut off

Best head unit I've ever owned!

This head unit is simply awesome! I've had it for a good month now and no problems so far, absolutely love the ease of use and the quick response to touch. I love the style of this stereo with the basic glossy black and the nicely set buttons. I wish the buttons responded to everything push, but if I turn the volume up or down in a fairly quick fashion it may skip a press, as in I pushed the volume button 10 times and it only went up 8 or 9. I like the colors you can use for button illumination and background/theme, but it needs more. And maybe where the colors are constantly changing. You should be able to make a custom colored background and not just the button lights. Overall its a great product and it was better than anything else in the same price range!

Nice sound

You can't go wrong with Pioneer.
The Bluetooth could have a few more features like auto connect on incoming calls. USB sometimes doesn't recognize video files.
More Android support would be nice too.
Not everyone owns an I phone...
Has lots of audio settings to suit anyone's taste.
The GPS add on is way overpriced :(

I got this from this site on black friday. I will have to say that this is one of the best unit I gotten. It is nice user inteface and the bluetooth is a BIG plus. Phone comes in really clear unlike some other units i seen on the market.

I have never been so frustrated with any piece of electronics in my life. Not only does Pioneer not make it that easy to use (some of the touch-screen buttons are not labelled correctly), but I'm not surprised since it was made by Pioneer, the manual is an absolute mess and entirely useless.

I just got an iPhone and am trying to connect the Bluetooth (I have the AVH-PP3300BT Bluetooth unit as required)and the Bluetooth operations are not covered in one location in the manual. The manual keeps bouncing me back-and-forth between two locations without telling me how to configure the stupid thing. Also, the screen-shots in the manual are completely different than those on the unit! (boy, that's helpful isn't it).

It is also important to note that all of the components were installed by a professional stereo shop so I know it is installed correctly.

So yourself a favor, unless you want to pull all your hair out, DO NOT BUY THIS/THESE UNIT(S).

Best bang for buck

I bought this unit for my2005 f250 install and It was a very easy install someone with no experience would be able to install this unit, also I love all of the features especially the app mode so I can stream videos off of my iPhone , overall I'd buy this again and Ive recommended it to several of my friends to purchase

So far so good with this deck. I was a little iffy about it because of the price. I still have try to watch movies on it... we will see how that goes. One thing that bothers me is if your song, artist, or album name is long it cuts it off and doesn't scroll. iPod works good. I've tried an android phone and it's a no go with that one but all in all it's a good product.

I love everything about this unit.....7 inch screen is clear, powerful clean sound. I have only had it about a month....but i am well impressed by it. Was easy to install in my F250 Super Duty....looks great too. I added the bluetooth, HD Radio, Rear view camera, and Ipod, 2-12 inch Pioneer subs powered by a JL Audio 500 amp. .....everything works great. amazing sound, easy to use.

4th Gen RAM 1500....

Got it wired up and turned it on and it is a great monitor. Sounds good, linked right up to blue tooth, looks great. I am totally happy with the purchase. I don't want to discourage anyone from buying this product, as I think it is great, but wither be prepared to give an audio shop permission to cut on your truck, or be prepared to break out some tin snips and a firm grip. Can't really speak on the durability, but I can bet it will be a 5, so that's what it gets.

Great Head Unit

This head unit is great with good overall sound and a very good interface. My only complaint is with the Blue Tooth Phone interface the CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter. The functionality is very basic for my iPhone and I was quite disappointed with that. The rest of the unit is great however.

I've owned this head unit for 6+ months now and couldn't be happier with it. It is an overall great unti for the price. Ipod connection is straight forward and the integration of pandora and navigation using my iphone is an awesome feature as well. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants great features at an affordable price!

Great Quality

It has great features, when the radio is playing it shows you the name of the song and artist. It has a built in equalizer and it looks really sharp. It also plays out of your iPod and the sound is really clean. Overall an awesome stereo. Highly recommend it. The only bad thing is that it does not have a built in navigation.

Great indash pioneer

This is a great product!! If you want a indash DVD player, and have an iPod or iPhone it's great. Its a good starter indash, you get the basics as far as an indash. When more money comes you can add lots, navigation, rear back up camera, etc. If a newer version comes I'm getting it, hope soon. :)
the flaw on this indash is. If you have an iPod/ iPhone and want to play a video or movie of that, you can't. Can only watch strictly DVD's.
It does seem like some options are a little outdated. But not bad for the price.

Man I love this unit so far I cant really say anything bad about it. The options are amazing, there are so many ways to turn up the bass and the power handling is awesome, I use to love JVC but I may be a Pioneer man for now on! Don't be a skeptic buy one hurry up dont wait.

Good unit

Used to have an Alpine...for the money this din unit is worth its weight. Haven't used the bluetooth part altho I heard it sucks. I wish I could use the sd card picture slide while playing my ipod. Touch screen is dope for ipod using. Don't bother with the rip off artists selling "bypass" modules for the dvd parking brake. All you need is a 12 volt relay.

Never owned a in-dash tv before... This one is great. Easy to install and very easy to work. Will be adding on extras in the near future.. Only thing I was disappointed in was this unit doesn't come with a remote.

Great Head Unit

This is a great head unit. It cleans up your MP3's nicely. Great headroom. Better sound quality than the 4yr old Alpine it replaced. Very good screen that is easy to view in direct sunlight. I didn't think my Alpine door speakers and subs could sound any better until I installed this unit. I have this unit running to my Audio Control Matrix, then to my HiFonics Mid/High & Sub amps. Could not be happier.

Good product

Only downside to this radio is that it will not scroll to view the entire song title. All it will view is what will fit inside the display.

Reason this title is due to the fact that lately I've noticed that I need to pump up the volume to around 13 before I can hear my rear speakers where when it was new I could heard them around setting 7, could be the speakers but doubt it.
Been basically listening my music thru my sd card and haven't had any problems except that I wish it could be easier to view all the files, it can get frustrating to find a song thru the files while you're driving. The other issue is the LCD has a glare when the sun is shining thru the windshield so it's sort of hard to view videos but is still pretty good the rest of the time.

I bought this produce due to the instore price in Australia being nearly three times the price listed on Sonic Electronix. The only issue that I have with it is it wont play anything but region 1 DVD but I didn't buy it for that. If I was going to buy another double din unit I would buy this one again.

BUY THIS UNIT

I have had this unit for about 6 months now, and I have yet to find anything to complain about. The screen quality is great, The iPod controls are awesome and easy to use (I don't have a video iPod, so I just have the standard USB cable connected, and it shows album art and seems to have full search/control of the iPod). The controls are easy to figure out, and the sound is great. I'm still running my stock speakers, and it greatly improved the sound quality, just by adding the deck.

DVD playback is sharp. I did hook up the brake switch properly because I'm a good boy and knew I'd be distracted otherwise.
Radio reception and audio are improved from stock radio
Touchscreen is responsive
Menus are logical and smooth

Cons:
iphone 5 doesn't seem to have full compatibility with app mode
Tuning the radio manually can be tricky while driving (set those presets)

Great value, good picture, easy controls

My only gripe is that the unit itself doesnt have a built in mic. You MUST plug the corded mic into the back of the unit and route it somewhere appropriate in the car or else your callers won't be able to hear you.

All other bluetooth units I've looked at have had both a peripheral mic built into the frame of the unit as well as a built in mic.

my sound improved 100% its worth every dime i paid for it and its very user friendly by having the cord i use a flash drive for my music so i never even have to open it for the disk and when i want to watch music vids i use my ipod thanks pioneer you mak

Very click deck

This deck is very intuative, it's easy to use and the finish is very nice. Like all of the electronics I purchase I did tons of research. For the money you can't top this deck. I can hook my iphone4 with nextflix app and play movies on this deck and output to a second monitor for the kids. The only con is the bluetooth is an expensive add-on.

Pioneer at its best like always

I replaced the mygig media center from chrysler in my dodge nitro with this unit and just like all of pioneers electronics I give it a double thumbs up. It takes several interfaces to make it work correctly in the nitro but once I got it all installed its an amazing unit. On a side note: buying everything from sonic made it even that much better even though we had trouble getting all the compatible interfaces to make it all work but in the end they got me all I needed and delivered to me quick. Two thumbs up for Pioneer and for the SONIC crew~!!

Excellent Double Din

The double din unit (is replacing my old Jensen VM9512) provides excellent screen quality and music quality. The subwoofer lows (currently hooked up to 2 12' kicker CVR and Pioneer V power AMP) and mids/tweets are precise and clear.

The unit also has great expandability options like the rear USB allowing users to play videos/music through a USB flash drive which is a great alternative to massive amount of CDs polluting the interior of your car. Further the SD card slot is hidden behind the screen and is also very responsive to the unit.

The unit also shows little lag when uploading music from a flash drive/cd/iphone/etc. and the scroll feature allows for quick finds through large libraries of music. Also, the customizable options allow for a nice seamless integration with interior lighting in a car.

Sonicelectronix delivered on the promised date and have great responsive customer service. Would definitely recommend if you plan on upgrading your musical experience in your vehicle.

Wow.... That is all i have to say... Great head unit overall with a beautiful display. Love the way you can change the color of the buttons and the touch screen is super accurate. You can also add your own backgrounds which is another dope feature as well. Some of the functions can use some work, like the artists name cutoff as well as song searching but this Head unit is in DIRE need of a playlist function, So if you're reading this Pioneer, PLEASE ADD IT. Overall, AWESOME head unit and if you're debating whether you should get it or not, stop debating, and DO IT.

Love this deck so far

Have been using this deck for a few days after installing and, and it has been great.

1) Bluetooth audio streaming works great (using Spotify from my Nexus 5 phone)
2) Bluetooth hands free calling works great (receiving and making calls). The voice activated prompts work to make a call, but there are too many. Clarity is good according to the people I have talked to. I mounted the Mic on top of the steering Column.
3) USB and CD player work, and quick enough to load.
4) Radio works, but quality is not great. Not sure if this is a problem with the unit or a problem with the input adapter.
5) Touchscreen is pretty good. Menu's are mostly easy to navigate, but organization can be a bit better. (Save Settings in the middle of the menus, bass boost at the bottom!)
6) Excellent customization for the audio setup. I haven't had time to tune my audio system, but looking forward to that.
7) Steering wheel input controls work perfectly.
8) Reverse camera operation works well. Switch the car into reverse and the screen switches after a second or two.
9) I didn't install the external Navigation Module or Sirius XM, but I assume they would be good as well.
10) I don't know how the internal amp works as I installed an external amp for my speakers.

For reference I installed this into a 2006 Honda Civic Si Coupe.

Bad ground

Product was overall a great deal but about a month after having it the ground fuse blew and left my head unit with a super annoying alternator whine through the rcas.

This head unit is amazing. The touch screen is as responsive as the iTouch. There is NO delay when you touch the screen. The unit is extremely user friendly. Easy to install but then a again what head unit aint. The only thing I don't like about the unit, is you can't display wallpaper by itself when listening to music. Beside that, this unit does what a head unit is suppose to do and does an amazing job at it, the only way to make it better is to build into it the JBL MS-8.

i originally purchased a sony A/V reciver from a different store and was not pleased one bit. When i found that this one was available here on Sonic and got it withing a couple days. PLUS, the gentleman over the phone informed me that the wiring harness i got from the blue and yellow store was not 100% compatible with car. Sonicelectronix ROCKS!

Just what i needed

Bought this because it had rear usb & for the 8 band eq. Have owned many HU & this one matches my set up wonderfully. Don't do DVD, BT or Nav. Play cd, mp3 with apple 16gb nano & radio. For these applications it is top notch. Love the subwoofer control on HU. It does everything you ask. I gave a 4 in ease of use because there is a learning curve with this unit but once you do things a couple of times it is easy to use. If you can spring for the $ go for this unit.

Sleek looking unit

Got this unit about 6 months now and love it. The sound reproduction is just amazing. The video graphics are crips very sharp. I found the unit to be very easy to navagate, and the touch screen is sensitve to your touch, response like a touch screen should be. Not poking or pushing on it to get a reponse but actually touching it. Great unit and now that the price is cheaper it's a great buy.

Good value!

Even though the unit I bought is superseded by this model, it represented good value for me due to the price and features. Overall the quality (both the sound and physical) is superb. It has nice features that allowed me to tune the speakers and subwoofer settings to my taste. This unit does not have bluetooth and GPS which is fine with me as I don't need them.

Bought this a few months ago and love it! I replaced a stock system in an '06 Rav-4 including the stock speakers with Polks and installed a sub and have never been happier. I leave my iPod connected and really like the ease of navigation this unit provides.

Customizing the equalizer settings is a must as the stock ones do not sound good. Was considering paying more for a unit with GPS, but glad I didn't now as I would have rarely used it with my phone being just as easy or easier.

Awesome Head Unit

Just got the unit in a few days ago. So far so good. The sound quality is very good. The video screen is a lot clearer than I was expecting. The user interface is VERY easy to figure out, you don't even need to look at the instructions for most of what you would want to do. There really aren't that many cons to this unit. The only thing that bugged me was that you can't interface with Pandora from an Android phone, just an iPhone. You can still plug it in the 3.5mm input and listen that way, it's just lame that they only set it up to work with the iPhone. Other than that, by comparison of similar units for both price and similar features, this one is hands down way more bang for the buck.

p.s. doing the video playback bypass was way easy, all you need is a 12 volt relay from autozone. youtube it and you'll find a video on how to do it.

This is by far the best double din out on the market. Let me just say that Sonic was super fast with their shipping. I placed my order Thursday and received it Friday. There are so many features on this thing. If your looking to get into the stereo game this is definitely the way to start.

An O.K. buy...

This deck does everything I want it to do, but it's very slow doing it. After you select something on the screen, there's a 2-4 second delay before it actually does something. I looked for updates but mine says it is the most recent version :/ Im overall happy with it, but will make sure I test head units in real life before I purchase.

Best HU I've ever bought

Got a great deal on this HU from Sonic. Installation took me less than 30 minutes in my explorer. This unit has so many features, I am still learning all of them! Crisp and clear screen, and the fold out angle function is great. Sound to the speakers is amazing. Unless you want to view video in the unit from your ipod or iphone, then the extra pioneer cable is useless. You can use the USB extension and plug in a normal sync cable. It transfers album art to the unit, and it also streams album art from Pandora to the screen. The Pandora feature is the best feature by far. I have over 100k songs in my musical library, but there are still things I don't have. Being able to quickly find them and play them on Pandora is a great feature. Extremely happy with this purchase.

Awesome Headunit

I ordered the AVH-P3300BT before I got this one. I have to say that I LOVE the AVH-4300DVD. The tilt mechanism is great The sound is great. I love the responsiveness of the touchscreen.

I installed mine in my 1999 Cadillac Deville with no problems. I integrated the steering wheel controls and it works GREAT.

My ONLY complaint is that it doesn't have a power antenna lead. But I was able to wire in a switch to turn the antenna off and on using the same relay to ground the parking brake.

First of all, I don't write reviews. I read them but I rarely write them. I have to be very disappointed or very impressed with a product or a vendor to feel the need to share it with others. Suffice to say I'm very impressed with this purchase and with Sonic.

This head unit is an unbelievable value. I had planned to purchase an App radio from Sonic. I logged on to the site and ran a search on "Pioneer App Radio" and stumbled across the 4300 in the search results. I believe it was listed for only $30 more than the App Radio. I couldn't see the pic too well so I opened the page thinking it was one of those with the Disc slot on the front and no movable face. Once I saw that it had a 7" screen and a motorized face, I dug deeper.
This HU looks like it belongs in the same class as the Kenwood DNX9980 ($1,349) or at least the DNX7180 ($879) and the Alpine W900 and 910 ($899 and $999). The difference is the Pioneer doesn't come with bluetooth or nav. Now, I've never been a big fan of car bluetooth but I do love nav and I almost ordered the optional nav module for this HU. I'm glad I didn't because once I had it installed and plugged up my iphone 4, I pulled up Motion X GPS on the iphone and then switched the HU to read the iphone, and lo and behold, I was looking at navigation right on the big 7" screen. And not only that, I can watch the videos I have on my iphone.

This head unit continues to surprise me. I installed it in an '09 Silverado that I'm putting a monster system in. I had thrown some "temporary subs" in the back and after installing the HU, my bass response was so much stronger I decided to meter it. Nothing else was changed but the head unit and the little temporary two 12" subs on a puny amp metered 8db higher than with my stock head unit. Another HUGE plus for me was three sets of pre-outs. The App Radio only has front and rear. The 4300 has front, rear and sub out and it is very robust, allowing you to control the level as well as the crossover.
When I put a DVD in to check out picture quality, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a great screen. And it's big!! One night, my nephew was following me, unbeknownst to me, and he txt and asked what I was doing watching "Collateral" driving down the road. Not only could he see the screen, he could see what movie was playing on it. This HU continues to amaze me. I know it doesn't come with bluetooth or navi and it can be costly to add those, but I'm still in disbelief about the price of this thing, not to mention the quality. I'm very picky when it comes to a purchase like this, and more times than not, I end up a little disappointed with SOMETHING about the product. Not with this one. I haven't found a single thing I don't like about it. It has an easy to use remote control, the touch screen works beautifully, it has an SD card slot, and the menus make sense and it's user friendly.

I read around 500 reviews all over the internet on this head unit. I did not see a single credible review that was bad. Also, this was my first purchase from Sonic. I called my order in on a Monday night at 10:PM. The head unit was at my door on Wednesday. That is incredible. A few months ago I ordered a drop kit for my truck from a very well known internet dealer and it took them 10 days just to get it out of their door and another 5 days to get to me. I was livid. When I order it, I want it. As soon as possible. And that's why I've placed 4 more orders with Sonic since then and I haven't been disappointed yet. I know this seems cheesy, but Sonic does rock. No one is cheaper and no one is faster. I've found my new single supplier for car audio.

Love the radio, not so happy with the service.

I bought my radio around a month ago. I absolutely love it. Awesome looks, sounds great, great control. The touchscreen is perfect, the installation only went with 1(long) hitch, more on that later. The functionality of the head unit is great, still need to learn all the bells and whistles though. The ipod control works really good, radio sounds good and the DVD player works really well. I have to give the head unit a great review, I am very, very happy.

Android compatible

I love the layout of this unit,its easy to access the settings and inputs,but the biggest reason i bought this was because Pioneer rates this head unit as being one of the top units that are compatible with the android smart phones,i made sure my phone was on the list and it was supposed to do allot of what an iphone can do,but it won't. I had a samsung s3 some things worked but not even 20% it was time for a phone upgrade so i got a LG G3,it was more compatible then the s3 but i found out it wasn't a match for mirrorlink which is supposed to wireless connect my phone to the radio and be able do any commands that by smart phone including adding the phone keyboard,both of these phones had android 4.4 and i updated the lg to the new 5.0,no mater what i would try do, it seems the only thing i could do is basic bluetooth stuff i even bought a MHL adaptor because i read some were that a direct connection would allow the head unit to see and do everything the smart phone could do.WRONG.I gave my wife my lg and got her upgrade phone just a couple of weeks ago,which is a Samsung Galaxy note 5 edge,which is supposed to be the latest and greatest,it works better the other phones but there is still allot of stuff it won't do that this radio should do.I think that Pioneer and several other car electronics manufactures are WAYYYYY behind when it comes to android compatibility,thy have focused on iphones and haven't given a dam about android until now ,since android is now way out selling iphone or the windows operation phones,but with me i am going to be looking at something that actually does what it supposed to do,some of the Chinese unit offer so much more and are top notch in quility beside most of the stuff we buy here in the USA are made there anyway.

The Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD is a great head unit with all of the bells and whistles. Sonic Electronix made it even more worth while for a reasonable price. Great product from a Great store.

Excellent head unit!

The unit is nicely designed and was very easy to install. The users and installation manual are easy to follow. This is the second Pioneer unit I have purchased and both have performed amazingly.
Pros- excellent graphical interface (touch screen), can turn on/off the subwoofer amplifier from unit.

As far as sound perfect, I like to hear instruments and all and with this device with the correct setup is worth it, the gps is a lil off not as good as the Pioneer z3 I had but as far as features and u on a lil budget, this product is for u!!!!

Excellent head unit!

This is a great item for a replacement of the stock stereo in my 06 GTO. The sound is soooo much better than the stock stereo. I like that I can change the backround/button colors to match closely to my factory instrument panel colors. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking to upgrade from their stock stereo in their 04-06 GTO.

Works and looks Great

The stereo is a great system I had trouble getting it into my car because of a metal bar they put behind the radios in a cobalt but got it in there and it looks and works great. About my only complaint is that there is not much in the setting for controlling the sub. The is a setting called subwoofer loudness but it seems to control the amount of bass sent to all the speakers not just the sub which I dont wont that's why I have the sub to save the speakers but overall it is a great stereo and if you can take the price then it is worth getting. The glossy finish does not attract finger prints as bad as I thought either and makes the whole car look much better.

This is the first time buying a head unit like this, and I couldn't be happier with it. Pandora app is awesome, sound is superb, display is equally on point. Installation only to me about an hour and is pretty straight foreword. The only bad thing I came across was my satellite radio did have a connection. But then again I'm sure there a cable for it. I would highly recommend this product

I been on the search for a kick a** double din radio for quite sometime.After researching and researching i came across this unit.I wanted dvd and cd and ability to play my ipod but had no need for navigation at the time and radios with nav costs double.I took the plunge and found about 90 percent of the operations were easy to use without even pulling the user manual out.The picture is very nice,ipod functions are pretty good.Another i like about this radio is that i dont think you even need a separate eq for your system because the audio controls are endless.I highly recommend this unit and if you want navigation you can add it later.

I had recieved this item a couple weeks ago, and finally installed it, what a beautiful headunit. It handles such great power to give even my premiuim stock lincoln ls clarity, but definitely need some woofers soon. What amazing features. I just hate you cannot drive down the road and watch viseos. I ordered this just before the recent one came out thank god!

nice deck

I put this in as a replacement for the factory bose deck in my g35, sound sq sucks. The factory factory amp that's inside was ment to work with the matching deck, the bass in the car has disappeared. I have to use rca outs to my factory amp; the radio has crazy static now after replacing it. I guess the sound would be better had i replace the amp but as a direct replacement its good for the price.

I jus brought this for my Nissan Altima. I read up on this all over the net and found it at a better price from Sonic Electronix (usually over $500.00 at other places). Shipping was fast got it in 2 days easy to install I did it my self I never installed a radio before so if I can do it you can to jus follow the instructions and you will do fine. So I had it in for 2 days and it works great no problems I didnt hook the dvd up yet cause I'm trying to do it where it plays without the parking brake(i need to buy a bypass so be careful cause its illeag but haha i dont care) this thing has lots to play around with I havent even begun to get into it yet and i cant wait to get me a iPod so i can really use it to full. I would tell any1 looking for a nice dvd palyer in dash to get this no doubt. So read no more buy it u will like it.

nice but WEAK bluetooth

this head unit does have a lot of features. the EQ is a wider range than others in this price unit making it more user tunable per their own ears. i dont expect HDMI from a unit in this price range but the mirrorlink is completely USELESS. it doesnt work for 95% of phones. they dont update the software. thats one thing pioneer is lousy at, software. my biggest gripe is the bluetooth. modern bluetooth chips reach up to 30 feet. this thing cuts out if you step outside of your door with your phone in your pocket. it also skips when playing via bluetooth. sometimes it doesnt do it for an hour roadtrip, and other times it will do it 4-5 times per minute. it is extremely annoying. i dont know if they are using cheap chinese bluetooth chips or what but it needs to improve. this will be my last pioneer product. i will be switching to kenwood where you can pay $100 more and get HDMI and functional bluetooth.... i would not recommend this to anyone who uses bluetooth streaming. if youre a aux person, this is an excellent option

This deck has been being used in my jeep for a while. I have no real complaints, although it could have a more handy auxillary jack, usb ports, and some more updated functionality - there's nothing wrong with the quality of this unit. The bluetooth works great, the usb works great (though I would like access on the front of the deck somehow instead of through a cable)
