WORKS FINE WITH Z1, Z2 , Z3

I read some other reviews that say this doesn't work with iPhones! Well, they're wrong!! Works on the iPhone 3, 4, 4s; warning sign comes up on phone but just hit cancel!! And it still charges!!!!!! Sometimes you have to unplug and re plug to sync the phone!!!! If you turn the system on and off, big deal!!! Now, it wont play videos; it was never designed for that! Just get and run an A/V plug to Z's A/V input and you can watch movies and videos from your phone!!!!!! It perfect!!!!!!

Great add on for your car

Great product. I rarely ever use CD's anymore. Pretty good interface with the deck, easy to use menus and easy to install. Only draw back would be that there is a lag when trying to scroll quickly. I wish you could have the option to scroll by first letter of the artist/song/album title. When you have a ton of songs on your ipod, scrolling can be very long

Great product

I've been a pioneer fan for many years,I've owned almost every pioneer head unit for every car/van i've ever owned and it's been nothing but the best, the CD-IB100II is a nice add on if you own a pioneer head unit that has a AUX input but don't wish to upgrade, works very nice.

Excellent Investment

This device has performed excellently! It's extremely easy to use, but I would recommend installation of this product by a knowledgeable specialist. The interface is easy to use, but there is one small problem. It will not charge the second generation of ipod touches!! It worked fine on my first one, and I bought a second generation one. It still plays and is controlled through the head unit, but it will not charge it!

PIONEER CD-IB100II

VERY GOOD DEAL!!

Unimpressive

Bottom line is: it works. Not well, but it works.

The sound quality is good, even though it uses some kind of proprietary analog serial signal to pass the audio through. It is slow as HELL though, so if you have a huge library and expect to cycle through it quickly, don't get your hopes up. You will be waiting for minutes-literally.

Want to fast-forward in a big trance track? It will either not work, or take a long, long time to get where you want. And even then, the minutes won't correlate.

So don't expect any miracles out of this holy grail.

This item is basically plug and play. Easy to install and works great with my AVIC-Z2!

Good Deal

Pros: I've had the CD-IB100II for about seven months now and I love it. I have the pioneer AVH-P4900DVD in dash DVD player and everything displays on the screen exactly as I'd like it to. Cons: Sometimes it displays the list of songs on the screen a little slow, and if your ipod is not organized it could get messy looking for songs.

Great Value!!! iPod must!!!

It worked great with my older head unit. Allowed me to operate my iPod on screen. It is worth it if you have an obselete unit like I had for the low. I would just buy a newer deck if I had to do it all over again.

Pioneer Avic Z3

To any one that is thinking of buying this product...DO IT!! it is sick. I could not think of an easier more user friendly unit to use and it has so many great features as well. The only thing that you are going to want to do is have a local audio shop cross a few wires to eliminate some of the safety features. For example you cannot watch DVD's while the car is in motion or use the Nav. System as well. They turn off when the car gets above 10 mph. This can be fixed and well worth it. I would give this product a 9 out of 10 only because the iPod function is a little slow but still good. Well I hope this review help any one that is thinking about buying this unit. You really can't go wrong with this product. GO FOR IT!!

Mediocre Unit

This unit is not the worst, yet by far not the best way to control your iPod in the car. It is rather slow and the overall function of it is not nearly as smooth as the menu on the actual iPod. Also, it does not display the entire song title only a portion of it and it never scrolls to display the rest. Having said that, the good thing about it is that it is definitely good sound quality and it is MUCH safer than fumbling with the iPod while driving to change the song.

Better than stock

I bought this to control my ipod with my 880PRS deck and it is wonderful. This is in my 2008 tC which had a pioneer HU with ipod controls as OEM. I though the interface was pretty decent stock but wished for more than one line of text displayed for scrolling and viewing track info. This interface is much better. Three lines of display help out scrolling/searching A LOT! The interface is faster too. The only problem is that with the size of today's iPods, Apple had to add a search function and I have yet to find a HU that will do this. The only other improvement would be the ability to display artist and song title information at the same time. My HU will do this with an mp3 cd why not the iPod? It's fast too. Usually the song starts playing before my amp is even fully switched on. A bit overpriced since the new interface cable is cheaper and does more. Lastly, the white dock cable is a bit of an eyesore and would be better if it were black.

With a high-end HU this interface is seemless.

Great product

the time it takes to install, and the overall ease of use is great and worth it. I would highly recomend buying one if you have a head-unit with a touch screen like I do. Only one drawback, the wire that you connect to the actual i-pod in VERY long and would suggest concealing it for a clean look. SE is great and will buy from again.

This product works well with my Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD. The interface controls are nice and on my specific implementation the controls work pretty quickly. Good buy!

Great product

i bought this ipod adapter and connected it to my pioneer deh-p2900 mp and it works great. I was hesitant to buy at first but took a shot and it payed off . It was extremely easy to install the hardest part was taking off the radio. To install it all you have to do is find the power and the ground which is labeled and tape it up. I plan on buying a cd changer in the future to connect to the free ip bus port.

Pioneer's Second Generation iPod Interface

I recently purchased Pioneer's second generation iPod interface and i am ultimately satisfied with it.

My previous setup included the Pioneer Auxiliary input where you controlled the iPod directly.

There are definitely major differences between the two configurations.

The iPod interface allows you to control your iPod right through your pioneer head unit, but when scrolling through tracks or artists, it lags and takes a few seconds to keep up with your scrolling. the screen on my pioneer headunit is only big enough to display 3 lines of data, so i have to scroll through 6000+ songs 3 at a time.

It does come with the convienient shuffle mode, where you can shuffle through songs or albums, it will play a random album in order, then go to another random album.

In my opinion, this unit is best utilized with the headunit's remote control, so you can keep your eyes relatively on the road.

it comes with a decent supply of wires and the cord connecting the iPod to hide it pretty much anywhere in the dash.

At less than $50.00 i felt it was definitely worth it to take advantage of my headunit's full iPod potential.

the unit comes with color coded power and ground wires, the IP Bus connector, double sided tape, and the white cable to connect to the iPod. the install is pretty much a no-brainer, you just need to figure out where to mount it.

Ease of Ipod use!!!

The Pioneer cd-ib100ll is easy to install. I can now use my Ipod directly with my pioneer avic-z3. The pioneer cd-ib100ll allows me to plug my ipod into my stereo just like when i sync it on my home p.c.
It will also charge my ipod, another great feature. It make controlling my ipod while driving a lot safer too. I would recommend this product to anyone with serious sound equipment in their ride.

Great if you have the right head unit

This item mates wll with some decks and hardly at all with others. I have and AVIC-Z2 and it works great but i've seen it on other units that are farther down the product line and the unit hardly functions. Moral of the story is do your homework first.

Great product!

I have the 1st version of this hooked up with my new Pioneer head unit, and it works great. The only issues I have are the lag scrolling through artists and how when you go back to change songs you have to go through artists/albums again. The first problem they fixed with this 2nd version, but the later is still an issue according to what the reviewer Christopher said. And as he said, I never use CD's anymore.

Very Nice

This IPOD adapter was a great buy. It lets you take your whole music library conveniently where ever you go. Sound quality is great and install is reasonably easy. The only gripe I have with the IPOD adapter is paging through artists and songs is a very slow tedious process. The solution for this is to have a fair amount of playlists to chose from, and just play most of your music from there. Great investment.

Pioneer CD-IB100ll

I have this playing through a Pioneer AVIC Z3 and think its a great product with easy installation. I use it with an ipod touch and the only issue I have is that when in shuffle mode, if I want to hear a specific song and search and select it, the system locks on that song and repeats it even if i reselect random shuffle mode.
The only way i have found to get out of this is to unplug the ipod then plug it back in.

Dont Think Twice

If you have an ipod, and a compatible Pioneer head unit, this product is a must! I don’t even use CDs anymore because of this product. It is very easy to install, tucks away behind your head unit so it’s not even seen. The only thing that is visible is a white cord that plugs into the ipod. If you organize your ipod the right way, it is no problem finding what you want to listen to. The only minor problem I could find with this product is that when you exit the ipod search screen, and then go back in, you start back from the beginning. This is the only reason I give a 4 on ease of use. Great buy!

Wow

Had this connected to a DEH-P4700MP and boy did it suck. The sound quality was good, but switching between artists was tedious and took way too long. The information that was displayed was also sub par. This is clearly meant for the better Pioneer decks, just happens to "work" on the lower lines.

Fast Ipod integration

This product was very fast compared to my last Ipod integration method. Very easy to navigate using Pioneer p980bt. Installation was a pain, considering you have to find a place to hide the brain, and the ipod connector doesnt disconnect from it unlike the power and headunit connections. Also I wish the album artwork would display on the headunit like the MP3 disc made w/ OEL screensaver studio by pioneer.
