Excellent buy!

This product is an excellent buy, especially for the price since it includes the wiring and installation kit. I've owned this unit for around 6 months now, I purchased it through Sonic Electronix and I must say I'm extremely pleased with it, no problems whatsoever!

Product is awesome! Pioneer is rock solid. The multicolor display allows me to match the interior lighting color of my existing 1994 F-250. At night the color does not look "out of place". Plus the iPod integration is great.

I have the Pioneer DEH-7300BT in my BMW. Once you understand how to navigate the "rotary commander dial" you'll never look back.

The stereo works but even with the higher output and the new speakers i got it doesn't sound as good as it should.

The unit has that great pioneer sound and i love the remote. It is one of the better cd players that you can find out there, and i would recommend this unit to any one who is looking for a clean transparent sound.

Great radio with poor user interface

The DEH-4300UB has tons of features, performs very well, and is reasonably priced. Bought it because I could make the front panel illumination an identical colour to my dash panel.

However, it is difficult to operate with a poor user interface. For example, when touching the large rotary knob to lower the volume while driving it is extremely easy to inadvertently press the knob, enter menu mode, enter illumination mode and then thinking that one is lowering the volume the display colour is changed instead.

It is totally impossible to change the tone of what you are listening to (eg BASS or TREBLE) while driving because you have to enter menu mode, scroll down three levels of menu to get to BASS, and then adjust. This is several pushes of different pushbuttons. It is necessary to stop the car to do this.

Also, the menu control pushbuttons take some getting used to. There is nothing in the manual that clearly explains them and nothing to say how to get out of menu mode. Finally found by trial and error the correct button to press to leave menu mode without having to turn off the radio.

Great performing radio but would not recommend it because it is anything but intuitive to use and requires at least an hour to learn how to operate it.

New head unit for my stang...

I removed my old Pioneer and installed this one. Very easy installation and had no problem with the wiring because I also included in my order the proper harness to do so. I can tell from the very begining the clear sound and perfect format reading that Pioneer has always had. Have no problem connecting my iPhone to it and using the head unit controls to navigate through my songs and books in the iPhone. Did not like much the design in this model but I that is not an issue. The multicolor display which is great though. I found a little confusing the menu and how everything has to be done with the volume button, it took me a few minutes to master it but once you get it you´re all set. I´ve always owned Pioneer´s and never been dissapointed.
Product arrived just in time, and as usual I´m looking forward to buy again from Sonic.

Perfect Head Unit for 1990's 3 Series BMW

Purchased this to replace the OEM head unit on my 1995 325i Convertible. Couldn't have made a better purchase. Everything works as advertised, and it looks great. The ability to change the display color makes the unit look as good or better than the OEM unit. iPod integration works well. Would highly recommend it to anyone replacing a 90's era 3 Series BMW OEM radio.

has all the options sweet for the price

Extremely easy to use looks good and had independent equilizer not just the preset rock vocal. You can adjust everything, sounds good havnt had a problem so far used it for 8 months now.

This is an amazing stereo unit! I installed this in my daughters 1993 Volvo 240 as a Christmas present. She loves it and the sound is amazing. It almost instantly recognizes her “iPod nano” and “iPod touch”. We couldn’t be happier….what a great stereo at a reasonable price. This was a good purchase.

great stereo

This is a great stereo, I installed in a Jeep Wrangler that tends to ride a little rough, stereo does not skip at all, even on major bumps, has a great sound and nice features and was a snap to install, def recommend this stereo.

Excellent stereo but limited expandability

Installed this in my '06 Mazda 3. Aesthetically speaking, it's a perfect fit. The carbon fiber texture on the bezel goes great with the faux carbon fiber panels of my car's dash. It has a wide selection of colors to set for the LCD back light and the Orange-Red color matched my car's dash lighting perfectly. It's overall slick design is nicely inline with the interior design of my car.

The 3-band equalizer (bass, mid, treble) is pretty simplistic and each band is adjustable within a range of -6 to +6. There are 5 preset "tones" if you don't wanna do any of that messing around yourself. Not the most sophisticated audio tuning system but it'll do just fine for any average user.

The front AUX port is convenient (and expected) but I especially like using the front USB port. You can use a USB drive loaded with your favorite music or attach an iPod and use the stereo's controls to search for and play music. I don't own an iPod so I can't really offer too much info on that but I CAN say that playing music off a USB drive is super convenient and simple to do using the unit's controls.

As for expandability: the two pairs of RCA preamp outputs are nice (and, of course, you can set the sub-woofer crossover frequency) but I'm bummed that there's no way to add Bluetooth/HD Radio/Satellite Radio functionality. For that You'll have to pay more for a unit that already includes the feature(s). Hence why I took one star off "Features".

Bonus: if your car has steering wheel controls you can add an adapter such as the PAC SWI-PSv1 to use them with this unit.

OVERALL it's a really nice stereo but if you're looking to add any Bluetooth/HD Radio/Satellite Radio functionality or want more precise control over your sound you'll have to look elsewhere.
