Good Unit

This is a great unit for the price. The power and features are hard to beat at this price. I had tried to buy this unit in a local shop and was told good luck fining one because they had been on back order for months. The price I paid here was less than half of what the local shop would have charged it they had it. I put it in a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner with basic stock speakers and the improvement was incredible. I wanted it to play music from a USB thumb drive and it worked flawlessly. My only complaint is that the control knob is so thin that it is very difficult to use. To offset this, the remote is very easy to use and within about a week I could use it by touch and did not have to even look at it to navigate the menus.

Great deal

This product delivers everything as described. I mainly bought this item for the HD radio and the ipod connection and it works great.

Good stereo at a great price

I've had the stereo for six months now and it works great. I bought it primarily for the USB and HD radio and they both work great.

The only thing I don't like is how the random functions work when using USB, it repeats songs sometimes and the repeat options reset when you change folders. But other than those inconveniences, it's been a great little stereo.

Pioneer DEH-P5200HD

Since I got this product, CDs are of the past, and I just either, use my Flash Drive or my iPod to listen to ALL my music that I have save in them, and have more free space in my vehicle to store other thing that I do need.

Great product!

I wanted a car radio that was in the mid-range but also have enough amenities for my listening enjoyment, and this product fits the bill. Very satisified with the product and the staff at Sonic Electronix. They were very helpful and were able to answer all my questions. Quick service too!

Great for the price

This stereo was the first addition to my Jeep Wrangler. With stock speakers, the HD radio really increased the sound quality. I matched this stereo with Pioneer TS-D 1602R speakers and they sound better in my opinion than my friend's Infinity Kappas. I have my setup amped with only a 255 watt amp and a subwoofer and I am super pleased with my set up. This radio is very tunable for what it is and easy to use once you play around with the controls. Great product for the price. Better than Sony in my opinion.

Great head unit for the price

This unit has more features than most higher end units do.

The menu is a bit hard to navigate initially but well worth the effort. There are more sound tweaking options than on any other unit I've owned before. You won't be needing that external EQ with this puppy.

Powers my Infinity components up front easily without an amp. So if you don't have one, don't worry about it. You can always expand later.

The only downside is, for me anyway, that there is no clock. I don't know how you don't put a clock on a head unit that can do so much otherwise.

good radio overall

I have had this unit in my truck for several months and am generally pleased with it's performance. The only gripes I have is that the red backlit controls are very hard to read so you kind of need to memorize what button does what. Also it is not real "user friendly", the big center knob has waay too many functions. It controls so many things that you are often unsure what will happen when you try to use it to do anything except turn up the volume. You will want to keep the manual handy as you will need to refer to it often.

Great Head Unit

This is like most anything from Pioneer. It is easy to navigate/operate. Offers crisp, clean sound. The HD Radio is a must have. I never knew what I was missing until I experienced HD Radio. I also like the USB input. I have a couple of 4MB flash drive keys with about 600+ songs on each. I haven't needed to touch a CD in months. You can navigate through the files/songs by song title, artist, genre, or album. Hard to beat this unit for the money.

Great Unit

I installed this unit with new Pioneer speakers all around and I am very pleased with the results. It took me a while to figure how adjustments are made, but its really not hard once you get the hang of it. The unit sounds great and can really crank out some power. It has a nice clean appearance and I would recommend it.

Awesome.

I've had this for about six months. This thing is great. It seemed a little expensive at first, but it was very worth it.

I had some Kicker speakers put in before this but just with the stock head unit. When I turned on my radio I was expecting it to be awesome, but it wasn't. Then I had this put in, and this time I wasn't expecting a lot of difference.. I only turned it up to 20 (volume goes up to 60) and it was just as loud as those speakers with the stock head unit turned all the way up.

It's also really easy to work. The buttons on the remote and the actual head unit are the same and do the same thing, which is nice. It takes a little while to get used to the different functions each button has, but after you get used to it it's really convenient.

awesome HU

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P5100UB).

This headunit is awesome. A ridiculous amount of features and looks awesome (but not too awesome that its super flashy). I also love the rear USB as well as the front usb. also the display isnt your run of the mill led displays it looks like a little mini TV. The huge amount of features though makes it hard to get used to. half an hour just sitting in your car messing with it with the manual helps a ton though. i also have mine in the glove compartment just in case.

This replaced my stock head unit, and as soon as i put it in there was a HUGE different in the sound quality of my door speakers. Before it would be distorted if it was turned up too loud. Now it make's them sound like i bought new components, no distortion at all. I love this thing. Great buy!

This thing rocksss

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P5100UB).

This is the best headunit from pioneer that i have ever owned, i have had a 5000ub before and it could not class with this new unit from Pioneer. The seven band eq really enhances the sound experience and the ASR, man you wont believe your ears the sound is so rich and you can here every little detail. If you are thinking of getting this unit don't get stuck on purchasing, it also has 2 USB ports which i think is a plus for music expansion, high and low pass filters and lots more sound tweaking settings. It has this really neat feature that if you hold the clock button down the entire display turns off which is really really cool plus it makes my dash look sexy. plus the graphical display is bright and its really sleek looking GET ITTTTTT.

First impression

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P5000UB).

I just got this in the mail today, had it hooked up in 10-15 min. I upgraded from a pioneer deh-2000mp. This stereo is a very workable and simple stereo. Granted it took me a little while to get used to the buttons, but from just having this for 1 day i can already tell im going to be very satisfied. I would definitely recommend if your looking to hook up subs and an amp, even if you just want a nice radio. I only trust pioneer for my stereos.

I bought this about 6 months ago and it still works amazing, I love it. I love the dirct I-pod control, even though it scrolls terribly slow, but its still nice to have. The sound quality is good. all around this is a good deck to have. Also it looks beautiful in any car.

what can i say

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4900iB).

I just picked one of these up.Very nice looking. It is a very nice cd player.plenty of Features for the price.I can only name one other deck that is comparable for the price and options it has. the amp is powerful and clean. the only complaint i have is it is so glossy it is hard to see the screen at times during the daylight.that is why i gave it a 4 for overall. At night it lights up excellent.I love the 2 line display I would buy it again.

nice little unit

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

I had this unit for over a year and never had any problems with it. Great F.M. reception. I like the S.L.A. feature. This allows the tuner, cd, and X.M. to remain on the same level when switching between them. You can boost or lower the level. Nice sub controls. All in all not a bad head unit. If your a beginer this is a great unit.

Good reciever for the price

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

I own a Pioneer DEH-P4600MP, which is almost identical exeapt for the faceplate. I had a Alpine CDA-7873 but, it got stolen. I recommend any pioneer to someone looking to upgrade from thier stock head unit. Pioneer's quality is 2nd only to Alpine in my opinion, but much cheaper. If your looking to have subs then a pioneer with three 4-volt preamp outputs is a great way to go if your not looking to invest big bucks.

Very Nice HeadUnit for the price

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4800MP).

This is a decent headunit for the price. It plays the cd's well without skipping and powers my stock speakers nicely. The reception of the radio seems superb with the super tuner. It is pretty easy to control once you get the hang of it as well. The included remote adds a nice touch and works well too. If you dont want to spend a whole lot on a head unit but want one that is going to work decent this is a good choice!!

Lovin' the Pioneer

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

I bought this head unit for a few reasons. It gets the job done and has some nice features. I like that it comes with a remote, allowing people in the back to take over while you drive. I love the preset EQs, especially the "Superbass" and "Powerful" settings. I have replaced many things in my car but the head unit has always stayed. It is VERY easy to use, meaning it is set up user friendly so you can find what you need quickly. The LOUD option is also a nice feature. Removable faceplate is a bonus as well. I would recommend this head unit for people who are lookng for a good product at a cheap price.

Pretty decent deck, rather have a Kenwood though...

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

I bought this deck around a month ago for my 96 accord to replace the stock tape deck. First, the bad: The scrolling feature (for MP3 CDs) SUCKS, you have to hold down a button and then it only scrolls once, so if you have a long song title, every time you change songs you have to hold down the button. On my Kenwood deck it is automatically set to scroll and does it with every song. Next would probably be the fact that it only has 2 sets of preouts, but running my subs off the rear set sounds decent. If it had a set specifically for subs it would probably sound better. Also I don't understand the purpose of the volume knob that pushes in, Ive never pushed it in before and dont plan to!

But this is a nice deck. Even with my 9-10 year old stock paper cone speakers and thin stock wiring, it makes them sound pretty decent, much better then the stock Honda deck. MP3 browsing speed is very fast, along with CD playback as well. Great FM reception wherever I am, even with the antenna built into the rear windshield. I noticed reception is much improved with this deck over stock. This deck also looks really nice sitting in my dash, Im very happy with the looks of it. Overall its a very, very nice deck, but I wish Id bought another Kenwood. BTW I bought this at C***** C*** and paid $200 with the harness and dash kit, so be sure to buy it from here!

Solid, but feels cheap...

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

I just installed this in my brother's car and it's pretty solid. Has quite a few features for the price including several preset EQ settings and pre-outs. The multicolor LED display is very easy to read and navigate through. The FIE (Front Image Enhancer) isn't useful, I found that it made the overall quaility of the music muffled and muddy, I highly recommend to make sure this is off!

It does feel and act cheaper then my Pioneer's Premier head-unit, which makes me somewhat weary of purchasing anything but the Premier units.

All in all a very strong head-unit that produces clear clean sound from whatever source (CD, MP3 CD, and even an iPod!).

Great pick for any system

The following review is for a previous version (DEH-P4700MP).

Pioneer decks are kick ass decks, i highly recommend this deck or one similar to it from pioneer. The decks are all high quality and have many different EQ adjustments that can be made for enthusiasts such as myself, not only that but you can turn your subwoofers on and off with the touch of a button, it has a high pass filter on it, it has auto mute features if you have a cell phone car kit, its all great stuff, great power, great reliability, great sound, great control, and it doesnt look to shabby either, great pick
