Great head unit

Off the bat my favorite feature is the channel volume control. You can change each fr fl rr rl and sub levels. EQ is also great to work with. Settings allow you to set favorites so you don't fumble through submenus to find features to make changes to. System level control is simple 2 buttons to get to because of that feature alone. Can't tell you about the sound of the internal amp as all my channels have separate amplifiers, but I am a sound quality picky guy and my NVX amps on this thing sound crystal clear. The only drawback I had which appears to be a Pioneer problem is that I had to ground the RCAs to the head unit to kill static noise, that was close to a deal breaker as I what clear sound. Once I did that the noise was 100% gone. You can customize colors, theme and home screen. Android Auto works great as well. Overall I recommend this head unit to someone who wants control of their sound.

Looks great!

I love this thing! Sonic was awesome and sent me this over the mvh-2300nex that I actually ordered. The android auto works flawlessly and all other functions are amazing. I even bought an adapter to redirect the USB and aux jack to where the old cigarette lighter used to be. It looks as close to oem as you can get. The only negative I can think about this stereo is that it only has one USB port. Not a huge deal since it's mostly me driving this thing but occasionally I'll have more passengers and it could get annoying. I have yet to install a backup camera but it shouldn't be a problem as I've done that before.

Amazing unit with lots of features and functionality

To start off, I got this over the AVH series as this one doesn't include a CD player. I don't listen to CDs or DVDs so I didn't need it, plus it makes the unit lighter in weight.

Now to the unit. This thing was surprisingly light when I took it out of the box. I thought that may be an indicator as to the quality and build of this unit but I was wrong. This unit is very high quality! It has a very responsive touchscreen, so much so that I thought it was a capacitive screen until I read online that its actually resistive. The unit itself has many audio related features and functionality. I think my favorite feature is the auto EQ and time alignment feature, which uses a microphone (purchased separately, you can use any of the ones that come with home theater receivers) to auto equalize and time align all four speaker locations in your vehicle.

Best of all, it has Android Auto and Apple Car Play! Both work flawlessly, you just need to plug your phone in and the unit automatically does the rest.

The only con I could find with this unit is the fact that there is about a 1 second lag when using Bluetooth. It makes watching videos irritating at times as the video is always ahead of the audio. However, this is easily avoided by plugging your phone via auxiliary, or Android Auto/Car Play.

All in all, after owning this unit for 4 months I would definitely recommend it!

Great Unit!

This unit is excellent! I bought it for the Apple CarPlay feature and it doesn’t disappoint. I also paired with the Puoneer ND-BC8 backup camera I couldn’t be happier. To the unlock all features, you have to hook up the emergency brake wire, but I went with the Micro Bypass instead and it works just fine. My only criticism is that this unit doesn’t have the parking assist guidelines that other NEX models do.

Great to replace to old factory radio!

This radio packs the punch from pioneers top end head units but just gets rid of the disc drive which is completely fine! Made a great replacement for my girlfriends 2011 Chevy Malibu!

Value and Performance

This receiver performs flawlessly. The blue tooth functions with no hesitation. Volume is great without additional amplification. I use pandora and Apple play with Apple car. If you need CD pioneer has an option available as well.

I love this thing!

I really enjoy how easy it is to use all the apple play functions. Bluetooth is also easy to use and auto-connects every time. I have this paired with a Pioneer BC8 backup camera and it flips to the camera almost as soon as the transmission goes in reverse. The only thing I wish this radio had was the ability to add guidelines for the backup camera. Great unit overall!!!
