Pleasantly Surprised

Installed today and so far seems like a great item. Was debating over the less expensive mechless receivers, but chose Pioneer based on their reputation. I am pleasantly surprised with this unit as it has features that I was not even looking for. The three sets of rca outputs, built in high pass filter control and subwoofer audio control (low pass, on/off) is definitely a plus, and the fact that I can change the illumination colors to match my dash is well worth the extra money for me. This unit has a detachable face that other less expensive items do not offer. I also chose this item specifically for its USB port and aux ports being behind the unit rather than on the faceplate. This way, I can actually use the detachable face and run the other wires into a glove box or hidden area as they will not be frequently handled.

I use this head unit to only play off a USB drive so I cannot comment on the aux input or bluetooth connectivity or phone. I did notice that it only plays MP3, WMA, or WAV files, and it would have been nice if they offered FLAC file support. FYI, the USB drive needs to be formatted to FAT32, which is somewhat going backwards from exFAT or NTFS. Also, I do not see anywhere mentioning the compatible size of the USB drive either, but the 16mb one I tested works fine. In case you were wondering, when playing off the USB drive, the mp3 startup time is very quick and it even starts playing where it left off... something you would normally expect from an mp3 player, but often gets overlooked (based on reviews of other units). Hopefully this unit lasts me a while, as I would like to get one for my other car in the future.

great head unit!

My Sony Xperia Z1s connects flawlessly to Bluetooth and works great! Having mostly Pioneer head units in the past, I can say they really stepped up their game on Ipod intergration. I do not own and iphone, so I cannot speak about that however, my ipod Nanos work great with this unit. It looks good and for the price I can say I'm very happy! Loved the extra long aux cable and usb cable which gives you so many more options in where to store and connect your devices. Install on my chrysler 300m was simple. Ran into a few problems when connecting the wiring harness due to the factory amplifier (didn't connect a wire) but once I figured it out, that was a simple fix. Wish the readout display was a little more "premium" other than that, great unit. Very pleased with my purchase.

Fantastic! Above expectations. Easy to use.

So I was trying to avoid changing out my head unit on a 2006 Wrangler TJ and added a JBL mono 500/1 amp to power to JBL GTO 10" subs, it sounded terrible, I gave in and bought this head unit!
What a difference a RCA sub out makes to the amp... unreal actually.
The jeep fit kit and harness worked perfect, I even need the $4.99 antenna adapter.
This head unit is easy to use (took a day to get used to it) and sounds amazing. The 50 watt / channel amp pushes the 4 mid/highs perfect and clear. Great receiver is you want to runs your highs on it's amp and have a separate amp for your sub.
Bonus, the Bluetooth works better than my 2014 tundra's!!

My boyfriend loves it!

I got this gift for my boyfriend this Christmas and he absolutely loves it. I personally know very little about decks or electronics or much of anything when it comes to cars (ha), and I was able to find everything that was needed to install the bluetooth deck for his specific vehicle.

In regards to the design: I love the simplicity of the deck. Large letters and minimal buttons create a really clean look for the interior of the car. It also has a feature where you can change the color of the lights, which makes it easy to match your interior as well.

Set up was relatively easy, and the bluetooth feature is awesome.
No complaints! :)

Great value for a lower budget upgrade

Very happy with the ease of install and simplicity to setup. I like the pandora compatibility it's nice to hook up my iPhone to it and play my pandora also has a decent Bluetooth for hands free driving if you happen to get a phone call.

Nice unit- easy setup

This one was very reasonable, very user friendly, very easy to setup. Works great with my android phone over Bluetooth. Can't go wrong for the price.

Best Unit by Pioneer yet

I love this unit works well being I use it with my indash tablet install. Someone said it didn't have a mute and it does have to use the remote to mute it. I use the Bluetooth feature works great. The MIXTRAX feature works great even better when you use the MIXTRAX app. Great replacement for someone like me that doesn't listen to cd's anymore. The three RCA outputs are great for my setup and Pioneer sound is always the clearest sound of any. I have been using pioneer audio players for over 15 years would not use anything else. Buy it you won't regret it.

For the money...Awesome

I installed this in my 02 Audi A4 and replaced a prior cheap Power Acoustic unit. Don't let the small size fool you, this Pioneer has quite a bit of power and so many accessories. The RCA outs are great. The bluetooth option has only failed connection with my Iphone 5c once. The microphone if placed properly is loud and clear. I haven't tried the USB yet, I plan to soon. For the money and all the options even minus a cd player, this is an awesome. The only complaint I can find is that in direct sunlight the screen is hard to see with some of the colors. I wouldn't recommend this for a convertible.

Decent Headunit

Pros:
-Well built headunit with quite a variety of customization options
-3 Sets of RCA inputs
-Perfect bluetooth capability.

Cons:
-The illumination makes this headunit almost impossible to read during the day.
-no obvious mute button(from what I could see)
-track skipping can be quite awkward.
-USB Input on back, but comes with a cord you can run to a more suitable area.

Good, but a few nits to pick...

I replaced an Alpine CDE-HD138BT with this unit and had a chance to compare them head-to-head with my amplified system with subs. The Pioneer came in 2nd for a few key reasons: no HD radio (didn't think I'd miss it, but I did), Bluetooth pausing issues during music playback (VERY annoying, only happens with my phone where all my music is stored), and 2V pre-outs (the Alpine had 4V pre-outs and I noticed the difference immediately when I reset my gains). I liked the Pioneer's mechless design and smaller footprint inside the dash, and I loved the S.Rtrv feature (restores sound quality to Bluetooth compressed audio broadcasts like MP3s and Pandora); but the Bluetooth pausing was the showstopper. This is a great unit for most, but it was a step down for me so I went back to my original head unit.

Buy it!!!

Bought this for my 97 Riviera because of it's shallow measurement and I could not be happier! This stereo pounds great !!! I like the back USB/AUX ports for a clean look on the front side. Navigation of the controls took a little to get used to but not bad. If you are on the fence with this I would recommend to just buy it!!!

Fantastic

When I first received this unit I was off-put buy the small size of the box. When I first held the radio in my hands I really thought it was a joke. This thing is freaking TINY! The Bluetooth doesn't always connect on the first try but that's OK because the audio quality is awesome. NO CD PLAYER ON THIS! Just for those wondering and that is fine with me because everything is on my phone.

If you are on the fence about buying this don't be! JUST BUY IT!

best price for options

I would strongly recommend this product for the price, easy installation, features, and it's easy to navigate. THEORY Only Con With My Truck and this unit is I have no tint on windows. So screen sometimes is a challenge to see in bright light. Otherwise it rocks.

great unit all around

If you are looking for a cheap but great head unit with options this might be for you. The blue tooth for phone calls works great, Bluetooth from my tablet and other smart devices work well. Has good options for fine tuning high mids lows and more. I love the feature of having different color adjustments on both sides of the deck and the flash notification for incoming calls. Also is great having the 3 rca outputs on the back for running sub's highs and mids. Would recommend for price, quality and versatility minus the LA k of a CD player.

awesome new headunit

this head-unit is everything i needed, has the usb and aux in the back which makes the front look way more clean and presentable, nice bigger lcd display than normal single dins,the Bluetooth automatically connects and resumes the song where i left off at when i turned the car off. im using the headunit with my iphone 5 and it displays song info and doesn't have any issues. high pass filters and sub woofer controls are always a must have and this radio includes it all

Overall a banging radio

To start with this is a nice receiver for the money. You get a really good equalizer for fine tuning and its about 4" in length which is great for applications that are limited on room. Reason why it's so short is because it does NOT have a CD player which I do not use. It's a perfect unit for a Toyota that has to have that TYTO adapter. The Bluetooth works as it should for phone and music. The person on the other end could hear me perfect. I actually installed this in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra with the factory amp. It will rock your world for being a stock system. My ONLY complaint is that the display is really dim during the day and the glare keeps you from seeing it all that great. Other than that its a really good unit and I give it an overall 5 stars

Love it!

this is a great deck for it's price and it's equalizer programming. However, in my opinion it's not the most user friendly, I've had keep the user manual with me (not the tiny printed manual from the package but a pdf version from the website). The pros: it's ability to be programmed and you can get really great output with a subwoofer and good speakers! The cons: it's a bit complex to get the hang of operating at first and the user manual from the box is printed far too tiny.

Decent SQ, no-fuss, plug-n-play

Good unit. Recommended.

Pros:
* The interface/menu was almost instinctive - didn't need the manual to pair my phone though I spent 60 seconds getting familiar with the layout.
* Auto-connects and plays music when you start the car (provided that's what it was doing when you turn it off beforehand). For example: (with Samsung S5) starts streaming Spotify automatically.
* Answering/hanging up a phone is a 1 button press.
* Voice calls are crystal clear (though some credit to the rest of the system) and the other end reckons I sounded clear as well.
* Huge display
* 3 x PreOuts (Front, Rear, Sub)

Cons:
* "Mix mode" button just under the vol knob - where it randomly selects tracks and puts bullsh#t digital DJ effects between songs. Why? Just why? A configurable short-cut button would have been better here. Like a shortcut to the sub gain menu.
* Screen is somewhat dim, unreadable if sunlight catches it through the window
* Pre-outs are only 2.5V
* Doesn't support USB sticks formatted to FAT32 on Windows 8. In fact, I haven't been able to get a USB stick working at all no matter which format I try (which is ok because I use my phone).

MVH-X560BT

The unit performed as claimed. Since i did not have any need for CD, only bluetooth functionality, This unit is a perfect match. the SQ is very good and i use a DSP for the fronts. It provided the functionality that i need. if i have any negative comment, the USB connection is at the back and you need to connect the provided USB extension cable out to the front dashboard. it is a bit cumbersome, but it is manageable
overall, for the price that Sonic was selling, i am pleased and i think this is of very good value
