Great System!
The system is great and the very easy to install. It takes a little getting used to to understand the buttons to access all the functions, but it will come. Other than that i really enjoy hearing my ipod music, cd's, and radio. Well worth it!

Good stuff
This is a great deck in every respect. Ive had it for six months and havent had a problem with it. Very easy to use, has some cool features when youre in ipod mode. Only thing it could use is all of the words on the buttons could be backlit, but no big deal.

Awesome radio
I just finished replacing my stock radio with this one in my Chevy Colorado. All I got to say is this is one great radio with many audio tuning options, makes the stock speakers sound better but they still need to be replaced for better sound.
Installation was easy as 1,2,3 with all the wire colors matching (no problem there.) iPod function is awesome you can control it by the radio it-self songs, album, gender, artist, playlist and sounds good.
For the price you cant go wrong and if you got or are gonna get a subwoofer, its got a woofer control which is a great feature for optimum sound with high pass filter for door speakers.

Awesome!
This head unit increased the sound quality and loudness of my car sound system by a lot! It's pretty easy to use once you get used to it, which didn't take me that long. The iPod feature makes it easy to find my songs cause the menu is the same on the unit as it is on my iPod. The only complaint that I have is that you have to hold a button to turn it off and when I'm trying to turn it off quickly to get to the phone and not blow the persons eardrums that is calling me it's a hassle. I would prefer to just be able to hit a button and it turn off instantly. It's not that big of a deal though

This stereo is perfect...
I hate radios with flashy displays so I got this one. Man im so glad I did. I really like the display on this stereo it's simple but nice. The sound is awesome, I replaced my alpine 9885 with this pioneer and I can actually say that the pioneer sounds better. The features I like about this stereo is the USB port which I can just plug in my flash drive with music and the fact that it has 4 volt preouts. High pass and low pass filters are a plus and the subwoofer control is awesome.

Over All I am Very Very Happy. The sleek look is very impressive and the design is such that it uses minimal dash space to do alot. The knob is actually more like a multi function joy stick. The Features and flexibility is a HUGE plus. The MP3 CDs are awesome and the Aux in allows me to use any mp3 player and the included ipod cable is a nice bonus. 3 FM bands lets my parents and myself have several presets so we are not changing each others stuff. There is some decent Engine noise after 25 (out of 55? ) but I got rid of most of it by re running the ground. The USB control and MP3 CD control allow me to hook up my USB media and i will eventually get a harddrive

Great Value!!
pros: nice, sleek design; easy to use; plays tuner, iPOD, CD, MP3 CD; excellent with my 2 10" subs; clear, loud sound
cons: only compatible with certain, newer iPODs.

Pretty good except for AM radio
I bought this unit to replace my factory stereo in a GM vehicle because it didn't have MP3 capabilities or aux inputs. I don't like lots of small buttons and I wanted decent radio reception so the Pioneer made sense. The unit sounds and looks great and I like the Multi-Control although there is a learning curve. The FM reception is very good but AM stinks. What gives? No one makes decent AM tuners besides the automakers...

i love it
i have it in a 85 oldsmobile toronado and it makes tuning so easy with the easy interface and the powerful preouts i would suggest it to anyone, its not to flashy but not boring either if you need a head unit i dont know if you need anything more than this for almost all installs

I LOVE THIS RADIO!
I recently bought and installed this headunit to replace my Pioneer DEH-1400 unit. I instantly fell in love with this unit due to the fact that i can plug my MP3 player directly into it and i dont have to mess with FM transmitters anymore. This head unit was very easy to install since sonic electronix sent me the wiring harness for my truck along with the radio. i highly recommend purchasing this head unit if you are looking for and easy to operate radio that can do a large variety of different things and can be added on to.

Good unit, does a lot for cheap
So I've had this head unit for just over 6 months now. Everything still works great. I've got it in my truck and it bounces around a lot. I don't use CD's however, i've got a 32 gig Patriot Xporter flash drive hooked up to the USB wire that comes with it, with around 2900 mp3's using about 15.6 gigabytes of the 32. If you're looking for a USB thumb drive for your deck, I recommend a patriot thumb drive too. It was very cheap, it's water resistant, and it's encased in rubber so you can drop it or step on it as many times as you want.
The USB wire comes out of the back of the unit, so you just run the wire down below the dash. I keep the jump drive sitting in the 4WD gear shifter plastic on that middle column between the driver and passenger leg room. I like this design better than the USB-capable head units where you plug the jump drive into the front because if this one was like that, i definitely would have smashed it out of there or bent and broke stuff when reaching for a drink or to shift. Note that this head unit comes with an iPod adapter set up just the same way and works great with iPods.
The features for the price of this head unit were easily the best that I could find. There seemed to be lots of fanboy BS over what brand you should choose - ignore them. Look at what is selling, whats popular, and get that - regardless of brand. I checked out a bunch of other sites that had reviews, then chose sonic because it was the best deal - and i'm glad i did, they threw in a mounting brace and a wire kit for my model of truck for FREE which was absolutely AWESOME!
The only gripe I have with this unit is that when you turn the "random" function on, the next song chosen will only be random when the song you are listening to completes. What i mean by this is, lets say you have songs 1 through 12. If you are on song 3, and you hit the next button, it will go to song 4 *even if you have random on*. If you let song 3 run out, only then will it randomly pick the next song. I still hate this but I've learned to deal with it. I emailed support asking them about this but they told me to call their support line to talk to someone in person and I never did.
Otherwise, solid unit, good quality, great features for price.

Beautiful Musical Experience
I am very happy with my purchase of the Pioneer Premier DEH-P500UB, this baby is the "Head Unit" for my after market car stereo. I enjoy driving long trips much more, while listening to my system, which consists of the head unit, one mono block Amp for my Sub, a 4 Channel amp for my 4 satellites, and a 6 pack CD Changer.
Because the controls resides in the multi - control unit, it is sometimes challenging to tweak the sound. But this challenge can be overcome with practice.
I have no hesitation in recommending your products and service.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
The features built into this thing are amazing. I was looking for a head unit that had a rear USB input to play back MP3 files from a flash drive, and as a bonus it did end up working with my Blackberry Storm. Since it plays that through the USB instead of the headphone jack I can fully access my music from the head unit's menus and keep the phone charged during longer trips. You can never go wrong with the Pioneer name and this unit is no exception. Sound adjustments are extremely detailed. Took some time to get everything set the way I like just because you can fine tune your sound so much. The built in high pass filter is probably the best thing by keeping my Kicker 6.5's in the doors from going too low and distorting. Only gripe I could possibly have is because of the wheel design rocking in 4 directions, pressing directly down on it to access the menu can be tricky. I've only hit it wrong maybe 2 or 3 times, but that's because I have to actually make an effort to line my finger up perfectly on the center of it before pressing down. This really does not bother me enough to not enjoy using this unit. It's just something that takes that 1 point away from the ease of use. I highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for high quality performance without breaking the bank. I'm extremely satisfied with my system with just this piece and Kicker 2 ways all around me.

Stepping forward and stepping back
I have always been a fan of pioneer and have purchased several of their head units over many years and never because I had any problems with the unit, I usually sold the care it was in. Pioneer has a consistant sound quality that I enjoy, plus the adlustments you can with the built in EQ and L/M/H let's you set your sound preference. This unit can really send some some threw your speakers and amps. I have usually bought the 7 or 8 series of pioneer, but this time I thought I was stepping down to a 5 series, but in reality it never felt like a step down. I did lose the screen features that can be entertaining, but that got old quick. I love the simply and informative blue screen. The screen takes care of any bit of information that I need. The single button takes a little getting used to and I may accidently skip to another track or station by mistake, also you need to extra when making sound adjustments.
I had to have a unit with a subwoofer output, which this unit has, also using the built in High Pass Filter feature with a good amp is all you need to turn some heads. I use the the built in 25w x 4 amp to run my factory speakers and a small amp fed from the sub output, plenty of clean sound.
When MP3's first came out, I got one of the earliest pioneer models that could play them. I used this to eliminate the need for a mutlidisc changer. One CD could hold 500 songs. This newer model scan and processes much faster that older units which had a 2-3 second delay before the next song started playing. This unit plays just as quick as you can press the button.
The added feature of having a USB port was my next evolutionary step. I don't burn many disc anymore because of this feature. I love it just download your music from your computer to you USB flash drive and stub it into the cable and play. I don't like the cable though, I wish it had a front port option, as well as the cable, to give the user freedom of choice.
The price for what you get with this unit is an exceptional value, I bought a package deal, which included the dash kit and harness, here at sonic electronix and would gladly do business with them again,
You won't go wrong at all with this Pioneer head unit, it can really jam when you turn it up and the clear sound makes the sound delivery even better.

Excellent Product! Highly Reccomend!
I recently installed this head unit in my 2004 Ford F-150. I am extremely pleased with the results. The fit was flawless with the included Scosche dash kit. The ipod integration is near seamless. However, sometimes if you are searching through the artist list, it will start over at the A's each time. If you have a lot of files on your ipod it the display will lag a bit. But none of this really affects performance. I easily connected the pioneer xm tuner, and am also pleased with it. Sonic Electronix is very helpful, and ships items fast. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

Great sounding deck!
I only use Pioneer head decks and this one was just as good as the rest I have installed. This went into my best friend's Grand Cherokee and he loves it! The sound quality is very good and USB inputs are great! It is connected to a Kicker 3 channel amp and he is very happy!
