Pionner Premier

Owned previous Pioneer models and i loved them! But with this model the Nav Wheel needs to be redone all over! Very hard to navigate through menus, overall display and value is great!
the outer plate that snaps on to the dash install kit didn't fit though, i dont know if it was because of the head unit or the dash kit, but i was pretty upset about that.

Installed on a 98 Mitsubishi 3000GT

Another great Pioneer head unit

I bought a 39' toy hauler that had a stereo without an external input, and bought this head unit. This head unit powers the entire toy hauler, 5 speaker inside and 2 out side. I haven't even hooked up an amp to it. I really don't think I have to add an amp. It rocks the whole camp and half of the desert when we camp in the dunes.
Great unit to have.

Awesome radio, ipod controls ehh

Great radio, ipod controls could be beefed up a bit, no preset buttons which annoyed me at times.

Very nice!!

I bought this head unit for my mothers 05 Pontiac Grand Prix because she wanted to play her IPOD. Ive only owned Pioneer head units and have never had any issues so I bought this one. Installing was pretty simple and the set up of the features is laid out well. For not having an amp to the 4 speakers, it sounds very good. Clear mids and highs. Over all it works great. My only issue is that the volume control (master control switch) is on the small side and can be difficult to adjust at times. For me its not too bad but my mother has problems at times due to her having longer fingernails. She is ALWAYS hitting the ipod shuffle button by mistake which is located next to the volume control. All in all I would recommend this unit.

Excelent Value

I recommend this product for its quality 3 sets of RCAs at 4V, and especially for its settings.

Great head unit, some faults however.

This unit is a very excellent head unit. It improved sound quality over my stock system, and has excellent features and inputs. The equalizer and bass settings allow very customizable sound settings, perfect for each person's choosing. It can also be upgraded with a bluetooth module, however at a prohibitive cost. Also, steering wheel controls work perfectly, provided you buy the required harness if your vehicle requires it.

However, one fault I found to be somewhat annoying, but manageable, was the main control knob. It feels very flimsy when used, and when trying to push directly into the unit for the "enter" setting, you may inadvertently click it any of the four directions, which can get quite annoying if you are trying to retune on the move. Also, scrolling through long menus (folders on my USB flash drive) takes some time, as there is no correlation between how fast you can spin the knob and how many folders it goes down or up.

Overall, it is a very excellent unit, high quality, good looks, and full of rich features.

great HU

this thing is awesome. i upgraded to it cause i dont like my HU to be real flashy and hard to navigate but i still wanted a good EQ. this has a 7 band that will work wonders if given the chance.

Great radio

I am an exclusive pioneer stereo person. this stereo was for a budget build and i was even a little surprised by how well overall the stereo holds up to the more pricier units. I'm not an ipod guy so i thru the cable away but having front and rear usb simplifies things. i have a 200gb external hard drive in my glove box connected to rear usb. and i use front usb for new music.

like a secondary amp

this thing has a ridiculous amount of options for tuning your music. if you have subs, it is a great buy because the internal amplifier can push them a decent amount along with your amp

Nice look

Personally this is one of the best looking head units. i have a prs-d1200m amplifier hooked up to this unit and seriously, the gain on the amp is way lower than normal because of the 4volt pre amp outputs and i can still barely hear the subs. its a big upgrade from my old pioneer stereo and it had 2 volt outputs and the difference is unbelievable. the sound retrieval feature is incredible, you would think you have changed your music library with the difference it makes to your music mp3's. its also got loads of cool and handy features for example an alarm which rings inside the unit if the face plate isnt removed after removing the keys which prevents theft, etc. this is one of the best units in its price range, if your not sure just take my advice and try it out. you will not be disappointed.

As for installation it was a jif! fast and easy, no after market wiring needed and i actually had fun doing it.

Pioneer DEH-P510UB

When i was looking for a head unit for my system, i wanted something that didn't scream "steal me", but still have everything i need/wanted in a head unit. The Pioneer DEH-P510UB did exactly that, for me at least. Now that's not to say that this head unit is ugly or unattractive. In person it is very attractive in fact, and has a nice high gloss finish. Externally its looks plain, but internally it is loaded with great features. The 7-Band eq preforms exceptionally well, the crossovers provide great separation, the Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) really does improve mp3 sound quality, having 2 usb ports is extremely useful, the remote works from any angle and the head unit responds very quick when navigating through songs, playlists and menus.

Only problem i have with this head unit is the "knob". if you lose the remote, using the knob can be kind of a b***h to navigate the head unit while driving. Other than that this head unit preforms wonderfully. Looks good, sounds good, easy to install, plenty of great features and has 3 Sets of 4V preamp for less than $200, you cant beat that with a stick! Best bang for the buck!!!

Best deck I owned to date

This was recently stolen out of my car. I owned it for over a year and it is hands down the best deck I ever had. Only problem I had was it wouldn't recognized my iphone when i plug it in at times. I would have to unplug it and plug it back in till it works. Besides that the deck looks sleek, colors are great and the 4v output into the 3 sets of RCA produced clean, crisp sounds with the help of my 4 channel amp. I would say they are 17 watts rms not 22.

Nice clean look.

This Head-unit woke up my 15" Mofo. I've tried Alpine and Lanzar, The alpine could play some crazy high notes so clean, but no bass or mid. The Lanzar 7" touchscreen had a sub-out but the pre-amp was miserable. Now with this v4 pre-amp, it makes my system brutal. 1000 watts RMS at 2ohms with the Mofo really made me stand out. Shakes my camaro up good. Custom ported box at 3.5cft does well. I am going to buy another to replace the Alpine in my other car. If you love to be deafened by high pitched sounds, get alpine. If you want bass and the best of both worlds. Go with Pioneer. (PS i used to have a lower model years back but it sounded muddy and it was why i went to Alpine. Both good companies just you have to pick your preferences) Have had no troubles with the all in one dial. Maybe people just are clumsy. :)

Excellent Purchase

This stereo was a breeze to install and the I-Pod interface rocks. easy to navigate through 0ll 2000 songs on my I-pod touch and great sound quality as well for under $200. I can't wait to get my subs and see how the whole system works.

Great!

I love this stereo headunit. I recommend it to anyone since it is pretty and has lots of options. It can be hard to find out what to do and navigate it at times however. But I still recommend it.

I like it

I love the clean display. It's easy to navigate though your iPod or usb drive. It realy makes my sub kick. They could put on more short cut buttens but it seams realy nice. Only had it for 2 days. Sonic's customer service was also good beacuse I wanted a alpine and they weren't in stock so they gave me this one for the same price. What a deal.

Great product

I owned a Pioneer Premier before this and it was great but out dated. So when I saw this one I had to buy it. I know its not a Premier but it still has so many features. I have a Sony mp3 player plugged in the front USB port and it lets me see and control it from the HU. All in all it is an awesome HU. Pioneer is great and the sound retriever works well to. I would recommend this product to anyone. Really easy to use only took about 5 min of practice.
