SQ that is unmatched.

If you've ever wanted to hear the bow move across the strings of a cello or the lips of a vocalist as they rock the mic, you need this stereo. Once properly tuned and aligned the sounds that come out of this are UNBELIEVABLE.

Install is a cinch. Take note that when in three way network mode the high signal is sent through the "rear" output and the mid signal is sent through the "front" output. The auto TA function is awesome though the auto EQ can give funny results but this can be switched off. The GUI is pretty straight forward. This unit has a huge list of functions to adjust so take some time to learn it (the remote helps here quite a bit).

One thing to note is that it seems pioneer is no longer shipping the IB100II iPod interface and so I had to buy mine from that auction site. The aesthetics of this unit are very classy as well. No annoying flashing lights or lame graphics, just two knobs and four buttons. Very stealthy.

Bottom line, the only thing cleaner than its looks is the sound it produces.

Bang for buck

One of the best sound quality HU's out there for the price. Granted, it isn't as easy to learn how to use as some other HU's, but the sound quality it delivers is well worth it in my opinion. It also has to be somewhat "babied" during the install... Did I mention SE has a GREAT price on it?

Nice Head Unit

This is a very nice unit. It sounds amazing. It looks very sleek and stylish. The remote actually has more controls than the head unit itself, so don't lose it. Not as many features as some of the other Pioneer units, but the sound feature make up for it.

Incredible head unit

This head unit is simply unbelievable. The sound quality is amazing and the flexibility of the audio settings will let you fix a wide range of short-comings in your audio system (or let you take full advantage of top notch gear if you have it).

The menuing system is extremely comples IF you don't read the manual... but if you spend a few minutes learning the basics of how to get around and how to configure it properly, it starts to become more intuitive. Spend some time with the book and you'll really be able to appreciate what you have more.

The only shortcoming I found was that the display is only white. You can switch the rest of the illuminating lights between blue and white, but it seems like so many other decks out there have at least a few color choices that they'd be able to do the same. Despite the lack of color, the graphics are nicely detailed and very easy to read. You can even change the font it uses to suit your tastes.

If you want great sound quality and enjoy fine tuning your sound, this is the head unit for you. Simply unbeatable and reasonably priced.

Good Hu for the price

This HU is awesome, grant it you have to play with the eq for atleast 30 minutes to get just the right sound, but that is what I like about this unit, great sound quality. For the price you can't beat it. So if you are looking for a nice HU, but don't want to spend a fortune, this is the unit.

Great HU!

Expect to sit in your car with the manual for a while. The set-up and adjustments take a little time to figure out. But once you do Wow! The auto time alignment and EQ sounded a little funny at first, I like a little heavy on the bass usually but I decided to listen to the auto EQ for a bit and I'm glad I did. I'm hearing details I didn't know were there. The sound quality is excellent. The clean look fits in well with my Subaru dash, and the radio reception is good enough that you can hardly tell the difference between CD's and radio. If you're looking for great sound quality rather than flashy displays get this unit. Oh yeah, they should mention that you can turn off the internal amp, an important feature that improves SQ in an amplified system.

Amazing sound qualty

I would completely recommend this product to anyone. The auto-timing and auto-EQ features make pretty much anything sound good; pair them with a nice set of speakers (I'm using Polk Reference components) and I'm not sure I've heard a richer, more detailed sound, and I'm a closet audiophile.

It's been in the car a couple months and I've had no trouble whatsoever.

I have owned 15 or more complete systems and this head unit is the best sounding I have ever owned. It works great and brings a new life to music. you will need the book with this one. Most features are simple and easy to use but to truly get the most out your install you will want to try the 3 way set up it really made a great sounding system a lot better. Bottom line the best head unit I have ever owned

TOP NOTCH UNIT

This is a top notch unit. I have been an Alpine fan for 20+ years from the late 1980's but I have to say that this Pioneer DEH 800PRS unit is better than all of them. The IPOD controls are easy to use and this unit is user friendly after you read the manual. The sound quality is second to none. The equalizer options are first class. Everything about this unit spells quality.

Awesome HU

Installed this HU in my 2006 VW GTI and its functionality is unbelievable - especially for the price. Its exceptionally clean design looks better in person and reeks of quality.

You could buy a more expensive unit, but why? It provides true audiophile performance, once you learn how to use it. Read the manual as it's not an entry-level component.

Also, kudos to SonicElectronix. Great price, great service. Even ordering the week before Chistmas it was delivered three-days after my order. I'd buy from them again without hesitation.

BUY THIS ONE

You just will NOT believe your ears !!! Going to cost me a fortune driving around. I also bought the usb and HD radio with this and everything works very well. A bit of a challange to set up, But the sound does rivel my 30,000 dollar home setup. It really does...lol. I still have to set the automatic adjustments, But with a few setups on my own, Without using my sound pressure measuring equipment, And set to flat, It just is awsome, At any volume, it's very clear and full sounding. The sound stage is seperated and well defined. You could point to even the smallest sound. What class, and if you crank it up....It doesn't distort that I can hear. I will stick with the top Pioneer PRS products from now on. Just blows away the best Kenwood they make. I RMA'd it and payed 100 more for this. ... Thanks Sonicelectronics for working with me !!!!!!!! Great People there. Go ahead and spend the extra bucks. You will love this HU. !!!Hext stop is the BT and ipod boxes. If they work as well as the HD and USB, I'll have a component system that will be very hard totouch at any cost. ... Happy listening.

DEH-P800PRS

By far this is the best head unit on the market! If you are a true music enthusiast and love high-end sound quality then the 800prs is definitely the way to go. This unit gives you options to expand your system on every music level possible: from SLA adjustment, to 16 dual L/R individual EQ band adjustment , to custom settings 1&2, display color blue or white, multi-amplifier connections and the list gos on and on......

Cons: STRICTLY 4 High-End SQ! Not many graphic features but if you must have graphics w/bluetooth; opt for the 9800bt model. No AUTOMATIC RADIO TITLE. Depending on experience takes about a month to fully customize eq band, hertz, and/or individual ear preference.

Best head unit I've owned!

The 800PRS is an amazing head unit. It's copper plated chassis is a big bonus. The auto-eq and time alignment saves days of manual tuning of the eq. I first put it in my srt-4, took it out, and put it in my evo x. The x came stock with a 650 watt rockford amp, and after wiring so the premier controlled the speakers directly, the premier hu's internal amp is louder than the rockford amp! Once again, this hu is amazing, and well worth the price.

ridiculous.. in a good way!

I recently purchased one of these to replace my DEH-P9600MP that bit the dust since both units have the auto EQ and time correction feature. I have a large car (Chrysler 300M) so making sure the sound from each of the many speakers hits my ears at the same time improves my driving experience three fold. It also does the auto eq based on what your car's speakers are capable of based on professional standards. The expandability is huge. I've already added the XM radio unit, GEX-920, and the USB controller CD-UB100. The only thing left to add is the blue tooth adapter. Do your ears a favor, buy this media player!

Premier headunit

Pioneer makes the best headunits, this one tops them all. If you want good sound trust me, there are so many options and frequencies to choose from you cant go wrong
