Thick music

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1374R).

We (my wife and I) like music from classical to R&B to Tool (metal) These speakers reproduce sounds you don't normally hear from headphones, ear buds, and low end speakers. Thick sound fills our car, all the tones balanced nicely, Tight bass, solid treble (not crashy, or painful/shrill), plenty of clean midrange, and all working in harmony to wash your ears with honey smooth sound.

These speakers were installed in the rear door panels, paired with a pioneer DEH2200 UB deck and Pioneer TS-A1674R speakers in the front doors. I have done many installs for myself and helped friends and by far the best sound comes from pairing like with like. Pioneer is not the loudest sound out of the box, but I am always impressed with the RANGE (28-29,000HZ! and 300watts?!?), and quality of Pioneer sound. WITHOUT AN aftermarket AMP.

paired with kenwood, or JVC (tried these in another few cars, but not so good without the pioneer deck) these speakers will sound quiet and overblown (foggy/loose bass) and the highs will be shrill or piercing.

Damn good upgrade....

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1370R).

I got these for my MCS series tower speakers (made in 1999). I've had them for a month now, (bought them used), and just now they started to get fuzzy at higher volumes. Keep in mind, my idea of loud music is around 100 decibels. But anyways, I bought these speakers off some guy used, and I've had them for one night now. So far, I've had these at absolute max volume, although my receiver is only 100 watts per channel, so these are getting 33 and 1/3 watts about. No complaints so far. No fuzziness or anything. Also, these deliver pretty good bass, although they aren't exactly 12" Kenwood subwoofers. They work pretty damn good for mid/high bass frequencies, though. This is my first time buying after market speakers, though, but these are definitely great upgrades from factory speakers. In a few weeks I'm replacing the 4" speakers in my tower speakers, so after that I'll post another review for these comparing these to Power Acoustik KP-42N's.

Descent for the "Price"

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1372R).

I installed these temporarily until I got my DLS components back. I had them amplified by an Audison, putting about 50 watts to each speaker. With a little EQing, they sounded alright. The highs are a bit bright, and get harsh at upper leves. Probably because they are only 35 rms a piece. The mids are probably the best part of these coaxials. The lows, well they aren't there. They bottom out bad. Worse than my first set of speakers which were the Infinity references. After a few months, I noticed a bit of wear on the speaker. They do not sound as punchy as they used to. But I am happy I got my DLS components back in place, and ripped out the pioneer coaxials and gave them to some kid on our block. I would recommend spending a little big more money and getting Infinity Kapp's.

Great sound, Great price!!

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1372R).

I've been a Pioneer Speaker customer for 20 years, since my first car. I like my music to bump and these speakers add a great sound to my system, no matter what genre I listen to.

Great sound for the money!!!

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1371R).

I recommend this product because it is very cheap compared to its quality. Sound is great. I found no cons so far. And I think PIONEER says it all

Great Bass

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1371R).

These Speakers are some of the best i have ever heard. They have great bass, and you can still hear the vocals. I had them in the front of my 1990 Camery and they sounded great. i had pioneer's all around. i had 6 1/2's, 5 1/4's, and 3 1/2's. These gave great bass in the front. and the 3 1/2's gave the good vocals.. the 6 1/2's gave the real bass. I think everyone looking for 5 1/4 speaker sound get these.

KILLIN EM!

The following review is for a previous version (TS-A1372R).

These speakers are truly great. Thing is they are for the person on a budget, but yo, its pioneer so you already know. Me personally, i bang pac to biggie jay to nas and m to wayne, but also get down wit maroon 5, killswitch engaged, the doors, and red hot chilli peppers. These speakers do it all with justice. I study everything b4 i buy it. These are the best u'll find. Dont try ta find better elsewhere...u wont. And did i mention i only had these installed in the front doors of my 97 prix??? everthang else is factory. Yea.....do it. Buy um...pure bliss. Oh yea... THESE ARE THE STUFF...MAN (sigh, jus great)

I love this car stereo, I would buy again if the opportunity arose. Sonic Elextronix sent out the product very fast and shipping was great.
