I put these in a 2001 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer

I must say these were a big improvement over the stock speakers. I matched these with a new HU Pioneer SPH-DA210 Appradio 3 so now my truck sounds awesome.

good range

At first encounter after install, music sounded like the upper frequencies dominated compared to the OEM speakers. I thought, these sound like cheap computer speakers! But I tweaked the EQ on the head unit to favor bass, and the range was once again balanced. Well, the upper range of the music was much clearer than OEM. Lows are pretty good, not muddy. I added a foam enclosure between the door sheet metal and the speaker (cut out the back) which may have damped the bass resonating through the door, which may have made the original speaker sound muddy in comparison.

Can't beat it!!!

I have a 1997 Ford F150 Extended/Supercab. It was the first time I had upgraded the sound system since we got it. I put them in with the old factory radio, and they sound SO AMAZING!!! I usually listen to dub-step and music with some good bass, and I usually have it pretty loud. For the size of it, it really puts out some good bass!!! I highly doubt you are going to find a better 6x8 speaker! Don't let the price deceive you, PLEASE!!! You will be missing out on a great deal and even greater speakers!

Sound is amazing. Loud and crispy.

I highly recommend the 6x8 Pioneer speakers. I have them in my 94 Mustang and sounds loud over my V8 engine. Even with my stock amp it sounds good. Also I recommend Kenwood X597 radio combination. Thanks Sonic for low price and good quality. =)

great speakers for their value

The difference from my stock speakers to these is night and day. These get twice as loud without running into the same distortion I was getting with my stock ones. Also if powered correctly and tuned right they actually do beat pretty good. For mids and highs these are what you are looking for

Good speakers, cheap price

Used these speakers to replace two blown stock speakers in my 2010 Ford fusion se. Installed these myself using the metra 72 5600 speaker harness. Excellent speakers for the price. Extremely easy to install. I will be purchasing another row speakers to replace my other speakers (in working condition) in the near future for better sound quality.

Very impressive

Wired in my explorer months before swapping it with multiple fiber glassed 6 1/2s. Even off of a headunit they surprised me with their clarity and output. Impressed.

Okay

I bought these speakers for my Crown Victoria back in February. They were easy to install and set up with the manual.

The pros: They look good and fit properly with the adapter that they come with. Decent sound, I got the 4-way speakers and the tweeters get annoying on some songs. They distort on high volumes, not too clear but not cheap sound either.

Cons: Would be that they don't last long. One of the speakers is distorted already and it's only been 6 months. They started acting up 2 months ago but now it sounds bad.

They're good speakers if you're on a budget, I would recommend them to anyone. At $40-$60 a pair, I don't mind switching them out every 6 months.

Excellent quality for the price.

Even if you don't have a blown speaker like I did, these speakers are definitely worth the purchase to replace factory speakers. I replaced my factory speakers in my 2012 Ford Escape and it makes a huge difference. Broader range of sound and clarity.

Great sound

Speakers sound great! Nice to have full sharp crisp music playing again. Install was easy. Get the wiring harness adapter so you don't need to cut wires.

Not bad...better feed it more power than a H/U offers

These speakers sound great...once I added in a Alpine Power Pack. Just pure HeadUnit power starves these things and you get no low end. Post-Powerpack install, the full range speaker sounds full range.

Since they are 4-way, they still pack a ton of high end and you may want to tweak down that end since it can get a little sharp to the ears with high-hat reproduction.

Pioneer Review

These pioneers are a great bang for the buck. They sound good. Only some small complaints. I don't think the power rating is right. They don't seem to be able handle the power of my amp and its only a 750 watt Kenwood 4 channel amp at about 60 watts RMS per channel. The amp is turned at half gain with all the settings on my head set down... Don't get the wrong idea they come in nice loud and clear...Just watch the power and get the settings right and they will last you a long time. Pioneer has always been a reliable brand that I have trusted for years. If you want it LOUD and ear blasting you may want to look some where else.

great speakers

I bought these as the last part of an install, they went into the front
doors of my Ford Ranger.
I have Pioneer 2ways in the back, and a Pioneer DD hu, 50wx2.
These have pizeo tweeters, what used to be called "supertweeters"
back in the day, you put them on top of your loudspeaker.
Was worried about having four in a small truck, seemed like overkill.
Shouldn't have worried.
These speakers sound great, supertweeters are basically about cymbals, tamboreens, whistles. I did not put them in the back, you don't
get much treble from behind you. But they present a great soundstage
in front.
And Mids and bass is great also, don't need the graphic eq at all.
Sonic had the best price, and they also have speaker connectors that
make for a professional install, not to mention prevent wiring
a speaker backwards, or out of phase, which destroys bass. If your
vehicle uses a speaker connector, you need these, makes for an easy time of it when installing. Took me about half an hour.
Sonic and Pioneer, a great combo, and don't forget the Metra speaker
connects, best money you will ever spend

Great replacement for factory speakers

I used these Pioneer speakers to upgrade the audio in my 2012 Mazda 3. The audio shop tech said I would NOT notice much difference compared to the factory speakers but he was wrong. I guess he just wanted me to buy some overpriced speakers from him! Right away I noticed a BIG improvement in how my stereo and CD player sounded. The bass is more pronounced and all sounds became crisper, with more detail. I'm very happy. The audio shop said they had to improvise with the install a little bit because the factory speakers on my Mazda were flat, while these Pioneers have some depth to them. So, they're not a direct replacement. I didn't experience any problems after the install though, everything (including my electric windows) works as it should. The cone is made of paper, not the magnet is much bigger than the one on my old factory speakers.

The speakers when tested sound dope!! Great Bass Response, no distortion and crisp highs!! I just wish they fit my car.

Great speakers!

I installed these in my 2012 Mazda 3 and even without a sub or amp, the sound has considerably improved. I have more bass and better tremble. My factory stereo sounds now as if it's a part of a premium audio package ;) Recommended!

good upgrade

Very good radio, plenty of good tuner settings. The HD radio works good on it. Sound is clean and clear, powerful too. Still can't get the jvc Android app to work. But who cares.

I'd recommend this radio to anyone. Has all the features anyone would want!

Pioneer TS-A6872R - Great Speakers! Great Price

These speakers were a great deal for me. I installed them in my 2002 Ford Explorer is about 2 hours. It was a lot easier than I thought it would have been and they sound great.

Great Upgrade for stock speakers

Had a defective speaker in my wife's 2006 Ford Escape. Liked them so much that I changed out all four speakers. Awesome sound. Great bass! Have also since installed them in my 1999 Taurus. Figured If I was going to drive an older car that I may well spoil myself. Paired them up with the JCV HDR60 and the sound is great!!!

These speakers sound great. And they weren't exorbitant price-wise. I would buy these again if I needed more to install in an automobile.

Replacement ford stock speakers

I was pleased with the ease of replacement using these speakers. You have to get some easy splice wire connectors. They are pretty cheap. The speakers do not have a Ford connection as many replacement speakers do not. This is not a down side. I was hopeing for a little more punch and bass but because of the size of the speakers that would not be possible. They do sound good and much better than the stock speakers. I have 6 of these in my van. I have a pioneer AM/FM/CD player. I would recomend these speakers and would purchase them again.

Good speaker

These speakers have a lot of clarity. I replaced my stocks on my 2011 truck with these, and the difference was noticeable. When you buy Pioneer you can't go wrong. Quality and affordability.

I would recommend these speakers as they are very good speakers with great highs, mids and overall the lows. I was impressed with the bass they put off. I have a kenwood stereo with no amp hooked up to the pioneers and it kicks hard with it! I turn it all the way up and there is no distortion at all except a little if its at maximum. There is no need for an amp unless you have a cheap stock stereo or a crappy stereo. If you have a good aftermarket stereo there is no need for an amp unless you want to blow them real quick. I put these 6x8's on my 97 mercury mystique and it is about 4 times better than the cheap paper made speakers. The bass still hits hard out of the box but they seem as though they will improve over time. So give them time before you judge them. When I turned them up with the bass all the way up I closed the windows and walked away from the car and I could hear them shaking my doors and the windows and it seemed as though i had one 10" or 12" sub in the trunk. They can be heard from up to 15-30 feet away or even farther! Although I do have a 12" speaker powered with an amp but it was turned off when I tested it. They hit like mini subs and will make your windows and door rattle because of the bass. Also, if you have subs they will keep up with it! I mostly depend on these speakers for the mids and highs and some lows but I let the sub take care of that.

Pros: Very good bass for little speakers (mini subs), great mids and highs also. Sounds like they will last for years to come depending on how you treat them.
Cons: I did have to strip the factory wires to put these in. Other than that they fit perfect. I would suggest you to use the stock screws that come with your stock speakers to hold them in place as the screws that come with them are a little bit thinner and the stock screw holes may vary. It is also best to look at the color of the wires and take note of the positive and negative color wires before stripping to make sure that you don't connect the positive with the negative wires and fry the head unit(stereo).

I just installed these today in my car. I had to replace my blown factory speakers. These speakers are fantastic. They are about 3 times better than factory speakers too. They have a very full sound to them and they are very smooth and crisp. I like them a lot. The install was a breeze too. For 50 bucks, these compare easily to Alpine. Can't go wrong with Pioneer! If you want some great sound and you are just running them off of a factory or aftermarket stereo, get them!

I bought these and am impressed by the sound. I have them wired to my pioneer deck and they sound great. I would recommend these to anyone on a budget and want some kick butt sound. I bet they will sound even better when I hook them up to an amp.

Excellent Speakers

I bought these speakers after searching the stores and the internet and have found them to be an excellent set of speakers. The sound is great and I have my MP3 Sony stereo system connected to them. I would recommend these speakers to everyone. The only problem I had was I had to drill new holes on my door panel grille.

Great OEM replacement!

These speakers are great factory replacments to run on a head unit. I put 2 sets in my 1997 Thunderbird, with a pioner head unit. Bet 300 dollars I've spent on the car.

crisp

These things are loud. I have them powered by the head unit and a boss 1000 watt phantom series amp, and needless to say 0 distortion and amazing highs/mids. I havent turned up the lows on them being that the subs are already hitting hard enough.

I bought 4 of these speakers.. 2 front 2 back.. they sound amazing they are clear and they actually have a lot of bass, I wasn't sure if they were gonna have enought but they do and I love them I don't have an amp for them but I do have a Sony Xplod stero.. easy to install and are priced great.

Good speakers

i bought 2 pairs of these (4 speakers) from a local dealer and there really good. i've had them for almost a year in my ford ranger. they haven't blown yet. they handle power pretty good. decent bass from these things :) and good loudness with almost no distortion. Would take these rather than my kickers

I have two of these in the back of my 2003 Ford Escape and I love them. The sound quality is good but not great but the fact that they are 3-ways really improves the quality of my music. The range of these speakers is wonderful an couldn't ask for better. They even have more bass than my Kicker KS680's. The Kickers still have better quality but these Pioneers are definitely rockin, which says a lot considering how much lees these Pioneers coated in comparison to the Kickers. The surround is flimsy like past reviewers have mentioned but I you won't have to worry about that unless you have a pretty decent amp going to them. I would most likely buy these again, I even considered buying my friend some Pioneers for him as his graduation present.

Definitely was an upgrade from my factory speakers in my F-150. They sounded good but not great. I am sure they would sound better with an aftermarket stereo. I like pioneer but next time would spend a little extra money and get a higher end pioneer speaker

Good for Price

I installed these on the back deck of a 2001 Mustang. What an improvement over the stock speakers. There were high notes that had never been there before. With the stock head unit, the base was a little lacking, but ten times better than stock. After a few months I upgraded to a Kenwood head unit with 18 watts rms. With the head units added power and equalizer, these speakers got even better. The base response is decent however the mids and highs are quite good. My fusions in my dad's focus are a little cleaner up top and have a little more low end response. But for half the price I would buy these pioneers again. All in all a good speaker for the price range.

Good stock replacement

This is a good stock speaker replacement - and that only. If you're going to be amplifying these or you have a subwoofer, I wouldn't recommend these. The sound quality is better than stock, however they can't take much power so amplifying them is trivial. Also, you will have no need for your front speakers to output bass if you have a subwoofer.

But overall, these do their purpose. They are a good, affordable choice for drop in replacements for stock speakers.

Bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my '97 F150 (a pair in the front doors and a pair in the extended cab). They're running on the stock stereo and sound GREAT!! Good for Rear Fill

I installed these in the rear deck of my 1997 Escort, and they sound good for rear fill. Decent bass and clear highs off my HU. Good for the price.

Fine speakers for the price

These Pioneers are a very fine addition to any entry level after-market sound system. They drive clean and loud from my Pioneer HU and even sounded good through the factory HU. For the price, they can't be beat. Very nice bass response as well.

Pioneer TS-A6886R review

I bought two pair of Pioneer TS-A6886R for my Ranger pickup. I searched for the highest end speakers I can afford and found these. I searched over the vendors I prefer, and found the best value at Sonic Electronix. Plus, they had a sale going on!
These are a four-way, 5 x 7, with a freq. range of 28-39K. No others in any of the lists I read were close. The sound is clear and consistent.
I listen to many types of music, from old 60's heavy rock to current violin and synth, new rock, and country. I even listen to several hours of audio books a week. I can crank it up and they handle everything my receiver gives it. And at low levels the speakers are still clear and sound good.
My receiver is a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X998. This receiver lets me have the spectrum I like and has a high-end audio stage. There is nothing of higher value in any other setup that I could find in the last year. This receiver and these speakers are all I asked for.
I use a pair of four-way 6 x 9's for my center channel in my home audio, so I am used to the clarity they can deliver. Otherwise, I am used to Marantz, and Kilpsch, so I tried to have a high end sound in my truck.

Great sound, perfect fit. Went to YouTube and found several helpful installation instructions videos on how to get to the speakers in my specific car. Once there, the speakers went right in. I replaced the factory speakers as one had been blown. If I knew how much better these speakers sounded I would have replaced the factory speakers when I purchased the car.

Worked Perfect

Fit right in my 94 ford ranger doors where the old ones were, an worked perfect. Sounds about as good as the factory premium speakers to me. I'm Happy an thats all that counts

I'm so glad I bought these speakers. I switched from my OEM speakers in my '05 Ranger and there is a very noticeable difference in everything; sound quality, range, bass etc. Plus, they're cheap in comparison to others. They're super easy to install also. I have a hard time listening to music on stock systems now.

EXCELLENT SPEAKERS

I bought these speakers and installed them on my Pathfinder and was really satisfied with the sound. I sold my truck and remove them. I would recommend these for the price and also for the quality of sound.

can't be beat for price and quality

Awesome speakers. Have these hooked up to a Pioneer head unit without an amp, and they still get really loud without distortion. Really have great sound quality. Always loved Pioneer for their great products at very good prices.

Superior lows

I replaced a pair of Rockford Fosgate punch series 6x8s with these and was very surprised with how much cleaner and balanced the sound was. I will say that the lows are doing more than the highs which is quite the opposite with RFs, maybe that's why it was more tolerable to me but I plan to stick with these in the future, they have a much fuller and cleaner sound than the Fosgates do and a much higher and lower range at that. They're pretty cheap too so I feel good about buying these. Also these speakers didn't have any of the distortion that I've been experiencing with Rfs.

I'm pleased

I put these in my F250 crew cab to help wake up the bass a little. It did that and also woke up the rest of the sound spectrum. I wish I had purchased these sooner, blows stock out of the water. With the performace they provide and the price you pay for them on here, you can't loose, buy them already.

Good sound

Good speakers for the money. Only put them in the front doors and noticed the sound was much better. Will probably be buying another set to replace the rear stock speakers.

GREAT speakers!!

I put these in my 07 F250 Harley Davidson about 6 months ago and the change in sound was incredible! Noticeable right away. I changed both front and rear speakers. Excellent highs, mids and more bass. I've since switched out the factory headunit with a nice Pioneer double din and the sound quality has increased even more. These speakers are definitely worth the money. Can't beat the price for the great change in sound. 4 screws hold each speaker in and they use the existing holes the factory speakers use, so no drilling or guessing. I'm still very pleased with the purchase.

Perfect buy

I ordered a total of four speakers for my car of this type and I didn't go wrong. I was skeptical for the price, but they sound great. Without a standalone sub in the car, these things still hit pretty nicely when it comes to bass. Highs are great, mids and lows are very good as well. For the price, definitely worth it.

Fine speaker for the money

Summary:

Pros: kick very hard when driven by an external amp. Strong, satisfying, punchy mid bass.
Cons: So so off the head unit amp, no crossover or even caps to separate frequencies.

These speakers can provide surprisingly good midbass. Loud, clear, and without distortions. Mids and highs are clear and balanced but not as good as those of Infinity speakers. Give these speakers adequate power and they'll really surprise you. However, when running off the head unit amp, they're nothing special IMHO. Recessed highs and mids, and bass that's only tiny little bit better than the factory speakers. My other complaint is that there is no crossover or even capacitor to separate frequencies, so the woofer and tweeters are being fed the whole spectrum.

Great over Stock speakers

I bought these for a 2002 f150 supercrew which they are a direct replacement. They were extremely easy to install and sound so much better than the stock speakers. They bring the music to life. They handle a good amount of power with out distorting and still sound awesome cranked up. Hands down one of the best values for the money if your looking for a Ford or Mazda direct replacement.

Great Speakers, Great Price, Great Deal!

I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who is on a budget. They sound great from my factory ones. I drive a 96 regular cab ranger and the sound is great. It takes about 30 mins to install.

Good, not great.

I have these in my '97 EXT cab Ranger. I have them in back, because I have higher quality Kickers in front. I have to be honest, I was extremely happy with the amount of money I spent on these and in exchange, I was greeted with just about the same quality as the factory speakers. The woofer cone feels very flimsy, and I am pretty wary of having too much bass going to them for fear of ripping the surround. I could and would recommend better speakers for the money.

Decent but better out there...

These are painless to install and sound good. The highs come in clear but the lows are so-so. I had these in a ford tempo for about a month and upgraded to the 4-ways. For the extra 10 bucks its worth the upgrade.

Great Full Range Sound!

I have these in my Ranger supercab and they sound great. Ive had them for about 3 years and they are durable and have survived 2 cars and 3 head units. They sound great on their own, but also respond to equalization quite well. I give them 2 thumbs up!

Great Sound Quality for the Price

I bought these speakers a few months back for my 2005 Ford F-150. They fit perfectly and were replacing an older, cheaper, set of Pioneers that finally wore out. These speakers are now broken in and sound awesome! Way clearer and louder than what they were replacing. Once again buying from Sonic Electronix because their prices are great and they have all the info and reviews you need to find the best speaker for your application, very satisfied once again!

Clarity

Pioneer always bring good sounds and here at a great price. I thought I needed something with for wattage but they are just screaming in my expedition. Initially had 2 way Kenwood, not knocking Kenwood but I needed more clarity so I went with the pioneers. Good sound with no distortion.

way to go pioneer

Installed these in my 2008 ford crown victoria and wow for the price from sonic electronics sound quality in my opinion can't be beat. Description is spot on best 6x8 speaker on budget. I had Rockford fosgate before these and extremely disappointed in those especially because they cost more then the pioneer and sound quality in comparison is garbage on Rockfords.

I replaced some Infinity speakers in my F250 with the Pioneer 3 ways, what an improvement! Better bass, clear, precise sound from the Beatles to Limp Bizkit. Got two more for the rear pillars and were direct replacements, easy hook up. Cant beat the price.

these Pioneers --- good ; the original factory spekers --- better...

These Pioneers did not deliver a clearly superior sound compared to my original factory speakers. I wound up re-installing my factory speakers. I thought they sounded better than the Pioneers overall, (the Pioneers did have improved sound in the treble range)

GREAT SPEAKERS

Was looking for a quality replacement for the stock speakers in my 06 Mercury Milan. Saw these and for the price thought i'd give them a try. Put them in the front and gave them a go for a few days to break them in, and i must say I am very impressed by these speakers. Great mids and highs, lows are not booming but my '12 MTX sub handles that. I was so impressed by them that I even bought a second pair for the back. Buy these!

good shallow mount buy

It's a good 3 way speaker when you have a shallow mount door like me in a 05 F250. A good price, too. I have them amped at 170 watts rms and still clean.

I bought these speakers about two weeks ago to replace the front speakers for my Ranger. Very easy to install and replace stock wiring. Great speakers for the value. There is not alot of bass on these speakers but if you are the kind of person that is into heavy bass obviously a subwoofer is the way to go. Great speaker clarity though, really hits the highs and mids perfect. I would recommend these speakers to anybody that wants a great set for a low price.

Great sounding speakers!

Had these speakers for 6 months now. Sound incredible paired with a good aftermarket stereo. Not as much bass as factory speakers, but much cleaner with overall great spectrum of sound. Highly recommend these!

Very Good Midbass!

Highly recommend these speakers. I have paired these with a Kenwood KDC-448U Head-unit and they sound fantastic. Fast shipping at a great value. Very crisp and good mid to low end.

Great factory replacement!

Purchased as a factory replacement option in an 04 Ford Explorer. Was a little hesitant at first, but I would definitely recommend these Pioneer speakers!

The sound quality is very impressive! They get loud and have a good amount of mid bass as well as some responsive low end reproduction. Installed a sub with these in the Explorer so crossed over the HU at 80hz, but they handled great without crossing out the low end.

These were a direct replacement so it was easy to remove the old speakers and swap these in to place. No fitment issues at all. Will definitely use these in future installs!

Superior Quality!!

The speakers are amazing! They are nothing short of legendary Pioneer quality. If you put them in the right environment they will be the best coax speaker 6x8 you will ever own! I have had mine for about 18 months and they have never let me down and usually surprise! i have mine in my 01' Ranger. I have Boom Mat speaker baffles behind them and the doors and inside door panel covered in Stinger sound deadened. Both of these great products and the speakers make superb sound quality! Pioneer makes the best speakers under $200 period! If you are on a budget, Pioneer speakers would be the best choice by far! I also put the 6.5" version in my girlfriend's 01' Camaro without the sound deadener and they still sound amazing! Just be sure to spend the extra $20 for baffles! It will make a world of difference for your install!

Amazing speakers

I just got a pair of these today and hooked them up in my mercury grand marquis and they are simply awesome! The bass from the woofer is great and the midrange and the tweeter have great clarity. They're smooth and clear when the volume is low but when you crank it it just gets better zero distortion and loud sound that can be heard blocks away. As I have only had them 1 day I'm not sure on durability but they are pioneer and they make excellent quality stuff. I'm sure these will sound even better after they're broken in. These are great speakers so if youre looking for quality sound at a price you won't double take on pick these up.

They are average

I have these speakers right now and I'm powering them by a sony multi channel amp with 50w rms to each speaker. The sound quality of the speakers is pretty good but the bass response isn't really too good. The highs are very good though. They are really well built because when I can turn my stereo up all the way they don't distort easily. When I'm listening to my stereo I just turn the speaker bass off and listen to only the bass from the subs because the speaker's bass distorts the speakers some when you turn the volume up.

Awesome speakers for the price

These speakers have a really good sound to them. They have awesome bass. I have been running them for awhile now and they sound like they are almost brand new. I love these speakers. Unless i was running a component system than i wouldn't run any other speaker in my car. They are very easy to install i didn't have to do any drilling.

Expedition Door speakers

I bought 2 of these to replace the rear door speakers in my 97 Expedition, one of the door speakers was blown so I needed new ones. These were such and improvement got so much louder and sounded so much clearer I needed to replace the front door speakers to balance it out... Unfortunately my local audio shop only had the 2 way versions in stock so I bought them anyway, HUGE mistake. Ive probably had the fronts in for 4 or 5 months now and one has already started to crackle when I turn it up loud.
So now Im here to buy new 3ways instead of the 2 ways because the 3 ways get louder and sound much clearer! The truck has a Kenwood DDX318 and the stock Mach Audio system speaker amp

These 4 speakers sound really good for my F- 150, so good I bought 4 more for my Ford Edge. I chose pioneer because they are what Ford uses factory plus they are upgraded. Highly recommended.

Great Price! Excellent Sound

I purchased the Pioneer TS-A6874R's 6 months ago. A pair in the front doors and a pair in the rear. They are holding up very well. I installed them myself inside of my Ford Sportrac. I tell you these jokers thump! The bass is mellow and contained the Mids and Lows are a compliment to the over all sound. Absolutely a great buy. I recommend this product. Great Product with an affordable price tag.
