Clear Highs!!!!

Clear highs and mids! Running on stock Head Unit(shaker 500 mustang) they could be amplified with out any problems. Bass is no more than stock speakers but do not distort at full volume.

Pioneer TS-D6802R

These are some great sounding speakers. You can put an amp on them but not necessary. I very much approve these speakers for any Ford application.

First 6X8 I know that come with a crossover, I really like that, Great highs and mids, very good bass for a 6x8's, I like the cone material, the tweeter looks like silk made, perfect fit, I just needed the speaker adapter, a very good improvement from the stock speakers, highly recommend it.

Great Speakers!

I installed these in my 99 2dr F-150 today to replace the stock speakers on the front doors. The audio is clear and the bass is great for a 6x8 speaker. They were really easy to install and i plan on buying another pair to replace my rear stock speakers.

a GREAT speaker upgrade!

I bought these 6"x8" 250W speakers to replace the 25W ones in my '99 Ford Taurus. I was originally going to purchase the Pioneer "A" series, but finally opted to spend more for these "D" series speakers. Because they have a pretty large crossover capacitor network on the backside of each speaker, there was concern over whether they would actually fit in the openings where the speakers mount, especially in the front doors. I was prepared to use a dremel-tool to cut a rectangle out in each opening, but the good news is that I didn't have to do that. The speakers fit and mounted perfectly without any modifications. I had also bought a Pioneer DEH-X8700BH deck at the same time from Sonic, and the sound is awesome, crystal clear, with no distortion. I am glad I picked the "D" series. I am sure these speakers aren't getting their full justice....I mean they are 250W each. I am sure that if I added a more powerful outboard amplifier, they would sound even better.

Perfect upgrade

Installed in my 2000 ford taurus and they sound great with my stock stereo. And a perfect fit, only took about an hour to put them in. Make sure to get the connectors for the stock wires, just plug them in.

Pioneer TS-D6802R (2007 Mustang GT with Shaker 500)

Purchased 2 pairs for my 2007 Mustang GT with Shaker 500 system.
I like the cone material and the fact the speakers have real crossovers.
I haven't had the chance to push these hard yet. The speakers made a slight improvement of the overall sound. The factory Shaker 500 system has high pass filters on the front and rear channels and is just a horrible sounding system. A new HU will make a world of difference! *2007 Mustang owners the REAR speakers are a pain in the A$$ to replace!

Easy to use and apply

I used this product in my rear component speakers (Alpines) for the mid-range woofers in the doors to shield against vibration and they do a good job and the speakers sound great for it!

These came in a package deal from Sonic
with JBL GTO series speakers one of the decisions why I bought the GTO speakers, easy to use. Currently installing the sound system but having used similar products before these will make a good speaker sound better.

Best sounding 6x8!

I had 4 of these in an 04 f150 with a 50wx4 alpine amp and they sound incredible. I was going to put a sub in the truck, but after hooking these up they sounded so good I never put a sub in the truck.

I bought this in a combo package that Sonic put together with a set of hifonics components, the zxi65c. i liked it, i havent heard any rattling from my speakers. works well, i recommend it.

6 months later....

These speakers are a good bang for your buck. Bought a pair for my front doors and also for my back door speakers on my Mazda3 sedan. They can sound a little harsh at times at very loud volumes but other than that no complaints. Bought these in the fall of 2012 and they are still going strong.

If your looking for inexpensive but good quality speakers, look no further.

Rockin Sound

These Pioneers are awesome. They have a balanced sound over the full spectrum. I put them in my front doors of my 2007 Ford Focus. I highly recommend TS- D6802R.

Superb sound!

I installed 4 of these in my 04 F250 with the AVH 4300 DVD player and the GM 6400F and the sound is top notch. Added 2 10" shallow mount subwoofers and a Pioneer amp under the back seat which really completed the sound.

2012 Mustang speaker replacement

The speakers were a fantastic upgrade to the stock Shaker 500 door speakers. I didn't realize how muddy the OEM speakers were until I compared them side by side with these. The Pioneers have very good highs and clean up the sound. They also worked great coupled with the factory door subs. The lows of these speakers are a great compliment to the subs. I could not have asked for a better upgrade. I will be doing the rear deck speakers soon.

I have these speakers in the doors of our 2011 Ford Ranger. They are pushed by an Alpine CDE-134HD head unit. They sound fantastic! Sonic shipped them fast and the installer had no problem getting them in the doors. They are the finest sounding speaker I have ever heard in car audio.

These are decent speakers for the price, but I would highly recommend getting an equalizer/amp to power them.

Amazeing sound!

I bought 2 sets of these to go in my ranger. I will say I am super impressed by these speakers. Night and day difference between them and cheaper aftermarket or factory speakers. Even phsyicaly these speakers rule the roost, well built in every way.

The Highs are clear and loud. you can hear alot of detail. Mids are tight and these things can make a supriseing ammount of bass. The crossovers are a fantasic feature.

Buy these if you drive a Ford truck, you will not be dissapointed!

Clear Sound with hard thumps

Great crisp sound with a hard thump on bass heavy tunes. I would suggest getting these speakers amplified if possible but even a direct swap and install is enough to get these guys playing your music better than your stock speakers.

These speakers are awesome. I installed them about 4 months ago and I love them! I need to get a second pair for my back doors, in my car! I can crank my stereo all the way up and they don't sound distorted the bass is amazing and all I have is a stock stereo. I play anything from rap to metal and they sound great! I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone looking for quality at a great price.

I put these in my 98 Explorer and with a Pioneer head unit they sounded awesome. Real smooth sound not tiny like some others I dealt with (don't buy JVC) plenty loud enough if you match with a sub and turn the bass down on the speakers. I didn't even need an amp for them. One of the best you can buy for the price. I'm putting this model in my next install on my friends car.

I just installed a pair of these in my ford focus they sound too damn good! I bought just one pair in case I wasn't satisfied, but they're awesome! Can't wait to get my second pair for the back! They're great for the price I had originally installed Fosgates and they didn't sound anywhere close to as good as my new Pioneers!!

Good Speakers!

I purchased two pairs of these to replace the high-end Infinity, Kappa series speakers that I had in my 97 Ford Ranger... The Infinitys were very clear and VERY loud, but they were WAY too bright!! I ordered these because everything that I'd read said that these speakers were much more "natural" sounding than other speakers, and I can attest to that, they are!
These aren't "Boomy", nor are they "Screechy", they are just well balanced speakers...
For those reviews out there that say these speakers have a lot of bass, I'd have to say that these are just good for Mid-bass and Highs... One definitely needs a sub to round-out the sound... IMHO
Overall, good speakers!!
We'll see if they stand up to the abuse that they receive!!

pretty good

I bought these speakers for an 06 f150. I had a pioneer avic x930-bt head unit that put out 50 watts by 4. In actuality they were putting out about 22-25 watts. Compared to my stock speakers, they were night and day difference. The fact that I had upgraded my head unit made a huge difference as well. Using the 7 band eq from the h.u. helped me to tune the speakers to my liking, and I must say they sounded crisp. Sharp highs and solid mids. I had a sub installed already so I wasn't look for any low end from the speakers. I can't imagine what these may have sounded like with an amplifier powering them. All in all, they were a little pricey, but then again You get what You pay for. Pioneer is definitely a company that makes a good overall product. I would recommend these if You are looking for a budget build that won't sound like one.

Great product!!

I bought 2 of these for the front of my 2001 Ford Ranger, and they fit right in. I used a Ranger forum for pictures on the "how to" install, so the installation went easy. I was so impressed with the quality of the speakers, I bought 2 more for the back as replacements for my stock speakers. Didn't realize that my stock radio in this Ranger had such good quality out put. Yes, my intention is to replace the radio/CD player in the future with something that allows more inputs, but, I believe that no matter which head unit I buy, it will sound awesome!!

Awesome Sound

These pioneers are the best. They reproduce the full spectrum of sound crystal clear. I have a sony amp, and they fit very well with these speakers.
They fit perfect in my 2007 ford focus. Rock on Sonic.

Amazing speaker for the money

I have an 06 Mustang and I wanted the best sound I could get without doing components or spending hundreds on each pair. I know good car audio, my last car had a $7000 sound quality competition system running Zapco, Hybrid Audio and Image Dynamics gear. SO I was a little apprehensive about a coaxial speaker but I liked the specs of these. they run a much better crossover and use a large silk tweeter, which gives a lot more detail and clean clear highs without being harsh. I have been INCREDIBLY impressed with these They sound like speakers costing 4 times as much. They don't have the imaging of a component but they sound far better than any coaxial I have ever heard. If you can only fit a 6X8 and you don't want to do components. you cannot do better than these amazing speakers.

these speakers perform very good just from the head unit. Looking for an after market stereo to add to their performance, I am glad I bought them.

Good Choice

The 6x8" speakers are made for and fit perfectly in my Tribute, and sound better than the original equipment. The acoustical and physical quality of the construction is very good.
The speakers are dual channel, meaning one woofer and a tweeter. Although triple and quad channel speakers are available, research indicates a dual channel speaker can be the best, with less crossover distortion.
I also purchased harness adapters so all I had to do is plug them in.

Great sounding speakers

I had replaced some cheaper after market speakers that sounded better than the stock units but these sounded way better clean clear bass was even good with a Alpine 40x4. For their size and price hard to beat.

Good speakers good price

I wanted something for my f150 stock stereo to help out the mids and highs and these definitely did that. They improved the bass as well, but not by a very large margin. I do not have an amp hooked up which I'm sure would help that.

Great Speakers, Great Service

I ordered the speakers Friday, they were delivered the following Monday. Installation was a breeze using the Metra connectors, they fit perfect in my Grand Marquis. They sound so much better than the factory speakers. Next month I'll get the 6x9s for the rear.

Vert impressed with this product

I was surprised by the amount of bass from this speaker since it is a 6X8. I installed them in the rear of my 2011 Mustang and I noticed a substantial difference. I replaced the fronts with Pioneer 3 way speakers and have an entirely new and fuller sound. I would recommend these speakers. There are much more affordable at SE than at any other location I checked.

I replaced all 4 of my Shaker 500 speakers in my 2011 Mustang with these speakers. Sounds 100% better. Not muddy like the factory speakers. Very well worth the upgrade. The factory Shaker 500 speakers look like something that would be used in a childs toy.

Great for Mustang 2012

I've got a set of TS-D680R (similar older model) in my Mazda 3 since 2004 and not only are they still running strong, but i never felt the need to replace them. So, when time came to upgrade the crappy speakers in my new 2012 Mustang, i purchased a set of TS-D6802R for the front doors.... feels like i upgraded the whole stereo :-)

To me, those speakers are worth more than the price they sell for. I could have had JBL 6x8 cheaper locally, but found them to be cheaply built compared to the Pioneers. And the tweeters in the TS-D680R are great for JAZZ.

This is my second set of these speakers and they are wonderful! The midrange is very mellow and the highs smoothly sparkle. I do have them amplified with an outboard rockford amp sending about 60 watts to them. Feed them some good clean outboard power--NOT head unit power--and listen to them shine!! You will be impressed too!

Great Speakers

These 6X8 speakers fit perfectly in my F150. They sound great. The highs are crisp and clear, and my shallow mount subwoofer complements them perfectly. Great price for a good set of upgrade speakers. Easily installed in my truck.

Nice Speakers

I put a pair of these in my 2002 silverado. It took some modifications, but they fit in the back doors. The sounds is very clear and loud. Great speakers for the price.

For the price, FANTASTIC!

I've always been a big fan of Pioneer car audio speakers, and these didn't disappoint. SOLID bass and very pleasant highs are there. Powered by a JVC double-DIN head unit, they sound super. Only change I plan on making is getting another pair of 6x9's for the rear deck and adding a 4 channel amp to bring them all up a little more. All in all though, these sound GREAT. As usual, Sonic pulled through with lightning fast shipping and a great price!

Nice speakers for the money

I put these in my 2010 Mustang Shaker 500 set up and they were a great replacement over the Kickers that I had already installed to replace the factory 6x8 speakers.

These speakers are wonderful for the money. I have them connected to an Alpine receiver and they sound great. They could use an amplifier. The break in was no big deal either. I cant imagine a better speaker for the money. The silk dome tweeters sound excellent.

I can't imagine better sounding 6x8's

Let me begin with a bit of history with me and Pioneer products. I've owned subs, amps, speakers, and head units by Pioneer. None of them have impressed me, so I was a little skittish when purchasing these speakers for my 2009 Focus coupe. After installing these I couldn't believe there was this much clarity and precision in my music! Crisp, clean, precise highs... deep, throbbing, rich, tight bass... And everything in between that I was missing before! THE BEST BANG FOR MY AUDIO DOLLAR!

WOW!

I put these rear speakers in my 03 Mercury sable first with the factory head unit still in and it did not sound any better what so ever.then i installed a pioneer unit on (nothing expensive) and wow! It sounds great now,i guess the factory unit could not power these up. I can imagine what it would sound like if i put in an amplifier? Thats next.

Being on a budget and not being able to shell out hundreds of dollars in a pair of speakers these bridge the gap between low price and high quality. If you're someone on a budget these are a great buy. Side note:They also have an extra two tabs on one side but they are easy to take off with pliers. Overall no complaints here.

Not good for fast paced metal/distortion guitar

These speakers are good for classic rock like Aerosmith, and have great sounding bass guitar. When it comes to fast paced metal/hard rock, they don't have the midrange clarity for multiple distortion guitars, such as System of a Down, Slipknot, A7X, etc. They don't have that edgy defined tone when it comes to distortion guitar in metal. Also the upper high range of hi-hats and cymbals isn't there. A7X had some harsh hissing in vocals but putting light foam in front of the tweeters helped that. I'm only powering them with an entry level pioneer head unit and two channel amp (60Wrms/channel), so that could be a factor too. Doors are moderately sealed and deadened in my F250 as well. Handled some serious sub-bass in Korn without blowing so that's a plus. Overall, they're great for classic rock and some pop, but not metal.

Pioneer TS-D6802R 6" x 8" 2-way D-Series Coaxial Car Speakers

I just recently purchased a set of Pionner's TS-D6802R 6" x 8" 2-way D-Series Coaxial Car Speakers o moun in my factory Ford Rangers 5" X 7" mounting holes. They fit in the stock location like a glove, and I must say that this is by far one of the Best speakers I have ever owned or used. They come with High and Low Pass crossovers already wired in which make them very convenient for plug an play without having to instal crossovers. They are built superbly well and the cone material looks just like carbon fiber. They perform better than 99% of the speakers I have ever owned, I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone looking to upgrade to Top of the Line products and sound.

pioneer speakers

I bought four of these speakers for a 2005 f150 and they sound great! i bought a four channel amp (1200w) to power them and the sound is unbelievable compared to my factory speakers. I used 12 gauge high grade speaker wire with them and they play clean at every volume. Would highly recommend. the only problem was the sealant around the speaker mouth started to come off but in 110 degree weather that is expected.

I installed two pair of these in my 2011 F150 and they sound great. Highs, miss, and mid bass are much improved over stock. I am presently running them of the stock head unit. I plan on wiring my 60watt x 4-channel amp in eventually and hopefully this will increase the low bass. I listen to a lot of rap music and I think amplifying them will help with that. I will add subs later, but I'm curious to hear them with rms power because they thump pretty good on the head unit. Trust me, get these!
