Pioneer Quality & Affordability but So So Midrange

I wanted a cheap replacement for tired original front door speakers in my 2004 Accord. These slid in with a bracket with ease and I was up and running. What a change and I am hearing highs that I never heard before with clean crisp bass as well. I can listen to the music louder with more clarity; however, the midrange seems to be a bit lacking. I got the urge to tinker again after all these years and also got a JVC head unit with built EQ functions. I'm curious to see if I can dial the midrange in with the new head unit since the stock one is on its way out. I'll have to report back in.

Great speakers and price.

These speakers sound better with my Alpine head unit than the original Infinity system. Love Sonic's guaranteed price to my door.

Good product

Some time ago the original speaker in the passenger door of my car started to show signs of being worn out (you know, those "farting" sounds on bass output), it was time to replace it. The OEM speakers were just too expensive, so I went with what was listed as "would fit your car" (not sure it was here or on some forum, though). From the electrical POV those fit nicely. I had to come up with an adapter to mount them, though. Once the door was reassembled, no one can tell, right? So, I am pretty happy with this product. So far (it's been a few months since I installed it) it sounds fine. I don't blast the snot out of it, though. Mostly listen to talk radio and/or occasional music.

Good Value

Decent speakers for their price range.
Have great clarity in the Mids and Highs, but they splatter and distort terribly when hit with any level of bass. Would definitely recommend spending the extra money to buy higher end speakers that can be responsive to all music types.

good speakers

These were just being used to fill in sound from the rear of my jeep because i was running components in the front doors. They turned out to be suprisingly clear, can't go wrong with these.

Review title missing - Example: Great Value!

Great speakers I used to enhance the sound of the stock radio/cd player in my daughter's car. Definitely recommend them at the price point.

FYI Sonic, if you're going to force me to rate all aspects of a product I will. Look and Design - really?! They fit where they are supposed to fit - but you won't see them at all. So, I suppose they look great to the little elf that lives within the door panel of my daughter's car... How the hell do I know what the durability is - I just bought the speakers. As for features?! What features - they're basic car speakers...? I like 'em and would recommend them, but, come on, they're replacement speakers...

Exceptional for a small package.

Amazing clarity and resounding bass for five inch drivers. Not "booming" or a mingling of sounds but detailed phonics is the key here.
I would very much recommend these speakers as replacement for OEM units and they are naturally capable of more power than the originals also. Mounting is straightforward; positive poles are clearly marked. Five stars for this pair with no negative criticism from here!

They are ok

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1341R).

I just installed these speakers in my front doors today. After I finished everything I tested them out. I enjoyed everything about the speaker, I just wasn't that overly impressed. This is what I expected out of $40 speakers, so it wasn't a big shock. I was suprised by the bass levels I am quite satisfied with the bass quality out of these little speakers. The highs are so, so. I believe they are titanium tweeters so I expected the highs to be a little tinny. Overall, they are a OK set of speakers, if you want better quality you will have to pay for it, but if you want a decent set of speakers for a great price these may fit your bill!

Great Door Speakers For Price

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1342R).

I just about two of these door speakers to replace my other aftermarket speakers. These things scream, but the only thing I don't like about them is that 25 watts rms is a little scrawny especially when you have your whole system on a amplifier. Just be careful when you are powering these speakers........when/ if these door speakers go out I plan on sticking to the Pioneer name brand.

**NOTE FROM ADMIN: These speakers are indeed are rated at lower RMS power and are not recommended to be amplified. They are mainly intended to be ran off head unit power, not an external amp.**

Decent value

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1343R).

Clear upper-mids and highs as long as you install bass blockers. However, I would recommend getting 6.5" speakers instead if you can fit them. These 5.25" are really just 4.25" with extended mounting tabs. A set of TS-A1673R will replace these for me soon.

Stereo review.

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1343R).

Some of the control features really take some time to get used to. Some I discovered by accident.

Made in Vietnam

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1342R).

These speakers remind me of most entry level pioneer speakers I have ever heard. The midrange bit pinched and the treble can get a bit fatiguing after a while. But overall, it sounds sufficient, and I think most people would be pleased with speakers like this. I don't feel like these speakers are going to blow 2 weeks after installing them, and they sound great on my Clarion CZ100 head unit without an amp. Yeah, personally I think they could use a bit more soul in the midrange, but for this price, I'm not complaining. This is a very competent speaker, and I am happy with it overall. If you are an audiophile and demand that your speakers sing you lullabies to put your babies to sleep, or envelope you in a world of warmth, I would probably look for something else.

94 lebaron

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1342R).

i have 4 of these in my '94 LeBaron with the deh400ub head unit and they sound great. Amazing mids and highs. I love the look of them, and they are a great deal too. My dad's Orion 5.25's are no match for these. These are the best I've ever owned;
I just wish the tweeter would twist or aim up which is why i gave features a 3.

Pioneer

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1343R).

Bought this for my girl car. They get the job done pretty much. Nothing that will make you say OMG this is the greatest. But it is respectable especially for the price.

Great sound! I put them in 87 Mustang. Sonic Electronix is the only place i will buy stereo equipment in the future. They are very easy to deal with. You can't go wrong with these speakers at this price.

Great Sounding Speakers!

The following review is for a previous version (TS-G1342R).

I have tow of these in my front doors, and two of the 6 1/2" in my rear deck. They sound awesome! Even at the highest volumes, there is no distortion, and the sound quality stays constant. These speakers are the best I've had! The bass is a little lacking, but since most people have a sub or two, that shouldn't matter too much. Would recommend to anyone!
