Good entry line speaker

I have purchased several sets of these for work vehicles. They are efficient and work well with OEM radio power. Good cheap upgrade for those just looking for something a little brighter sounding.

Honest sound

Reproduces recorded music like a good home stereo. For those of us who require clarity of sound so good that you can hear the drummer sneeze, this is a terrific choice. I play from jazz to reggae and I can hear the symbols tinkling and deep, honest bass. I'm happy.

Not much midrange. If you play loud music, they get scratchy. Overall they are a decent economy speaker.

Good Size

The speakers fit well as a shallow-mounted pair in my Kia. The value I got them at was good. The only complaint is that the treble seems to be a bit high(if this is possible), cause I get a head ache pretty quick if I don't adjust the settings with my car's stereo system.

Great factory upgrade!

I recently purchased these speakers to replace some failing factory paper speakers which had began to rattle and distort. I was very pleased with their overall performance. The high's come through beautifully and the mids are a great improvement.

I wouldn't rate these the best sounding speaker in the world, but for low power handling that most factory radios provide, they do great.

I purchased a pair of kicker speakers as well, 4x6 for my back seats, and they seem to handle bass a little better overall, even with factory power. However there is a price difference as well.

For the price, these speakers will do in a pinch!

Does the job

Put them in with a Clarion head unit up front, have other Pioneers in the rear deck. They do good, better than the Nissan stock of course, haven't had any problems yet.

Bought these for my Moms 2001 s10 blazer and we were both very happy with the sound of these speakers. They are very clean and clear sounding.

Great for shallow locations

First of all, I'd just to say Sonic Electronix is an awesome supplier.

As far as these speakers are concerned... They fit well in tight spaces.... very shallow. They are tight, clean sounding. Seriously lacking in bass response at low power... Midrange is weak in my opinion. Power handling is respectable. The surround is quite stiff, small magnet... but again, they do fit well in tight spaces.vIf you have the room, I would spend the extra $20 or so, and take a look at Polk Audio db651. Overall a decent replacement speaker. Overpriced in my opinion. I'm returning mine, and putting my $29 no name speakers back in for now. They have way better bass response.

I purchased theses to replace a bad factory speaker in my chevy avalanche and they sound worse that the factory ones.

I bought these for auto replacement speakers. By far, better than factory speakers. The two-way system sounds great. . . The lows and midrange, along with the factory tweeters make these an all around great choice for speaker replacement. They come with instructions and all necessary hardware for easy installation. Can't go wrong with a set of these.

Super Slim

I ordered this product because of how shallow the mounting depth is. I was very impressed that I was able to get them to slip right in with the perfect clearance of my factory speakers. These have made an excellent replacement for my old tired paper cone factory speakers. The sound is a little brighter than the paper ones because these have a plastic/polymer cones, but they sound great. If you are looking for a shallow mount speaker for a factory replacement, these will not disappoint you.

Pretty Good

I would recommend this for anyone upgrading from factory speakers. I had installed them myself and it was pretty easy and definitely better than the factory ones I had. They are good for the price listed , don't expect monster bass, but you will here a difference.

Crisp Sound!

I replaced the original door speakers on my Toyota sienna, JBL, with these Pioneer TS-G1644R speakers. I needed something that would give me clear sound with some deep bass.
I got the clear crisp sound quality alright but not very much what I needed on the bass, however, the price that I got the pioneer speakers was something to be thankful for, for such crisp sound quality!

When I crank up the volume, and adjust the settings I never get the vibrations and distortions that go with most units/speakers. That is a huge attraction for me...

bought theses for my sons car he's was old and sounded like crap so i got theses for him for Christmas and now his old system sounds nice for once

Great Sound

I purchased these pioneer speakers for my daughters 2003 Honda civic,it took me about thirty minutes per speaker to install,that includes removing the door panels and the old stock speakers.My daughter was amazed at the difference in the sound. As always Sonic came through with fast shipping and a great product.

Great sound on a budget, just get some bass blockers

Pioneer makes great gear. I've owned many different products over the past twelve years, and I've been impressed with every bit of it. If you install it properly, and if you understand the power required by your speakers, they'll sound great. If you're looking for ultra-high definition, buy Infinity Reference components. If you're looking for massive bass, get a Pioneer Premier Champion Pro sub and give it 1000w RMS. If you're looking for inexpensive speakers for your doors that will sound good with every type of music, buy these. Just make sure you're not sending them a lot of bass, because they're definitely not designed for that.

Great entry level door speaker

These were a definite upgrade from my factory pioneer door speakers in my 2000 Honda CR-V. They suit me well for now. I have yet to try them amped

Best for the Price!!

These are the best sounding speakers for $20 a piece. I purchased these to replace very good factory speakers that where 10 years old. Instant sound difference in highs and mids. Haven't heard the Lows because of the MTX 12's in the trunk but I bet there pretty decent. I recommend These!!!!!

Excellent Bang for the Buck

I purchased these as replacements for the factory speakers in my 1996 Blazer. Installation was pretty simple and straight-forward. I can't say it was any harder or easier than any other speaker install. I do recommend using a bit of caution as the surround can tear if you're not careful as mine did. That being the case though, the 1/4 inch tear in mine has not affected the sound in any way.

For such an inexpensive speaker, I was not expecting the quality of sound. The rest of my system is a Pioneer CD deck and a 10" MTX Thunder 7500 sub and MTX amp. With all the bass from the sub, these speakers are still able to come through crisp and clear. They do take a bit of tweaking on head unit and crossover to prevent any bass distortion as some very deep lows will cause a bit of buzz, but that's to be expected with any 6.5" full range speaker. Mids don't get lost in the mix and highs cut through nicely.

You could pay more, but to get better quality, you'd have to pay a lot more. Over the years I've owned about 6 sets of full range speakers and the only ones that were better were a set of Polk's that I paid over twice as much for.

Moral of the story.....Awesome speakers + great price = unbeatable buy.

Biggest Bang for the Buck

Bought these for my boyfriends birthday 6 months ago. He loves them. They were cheap without comprimising sound quality.

Good value for the price

My Dual XDM6820 plays through these speakers. The Dual volume goes up to 45 but the speakers kinda max at a volume of 38ish. They're pretty decent. I do not have a sub so these speakers have to do the Low/Mid/High all together. They output very poor Low. I am getting a sub soon so that these speakers will have to work less and can focus on just the Lows and Mids for better sound quality. You can't clearly pick out the dynamics in the music because of the low quality but it's pretty nice for the price.

Great speakers for an average deck

I replaced my factory speakers in a 96 Honda Civic with minor modification (had to snip off the 6 outer mounting teeth). The factory speakers were fine for what I needed, but the outer seal (made of paper) had deteriorated and—though tape fixed the obnoxious buzz—required replacement.

I really like the sound of the material... not too artificial or 'tinny' thanks to the cloth and polypropylene acoustics. Carbon is nice, but it tends to reproduce a lot of ultra-high-frequency electronic noise that I find too noticeable for my liking.

Perfect power handling for a normal consumer deck in the mid range. I have these hooked to a >$100 Pioneer deck and couldn't ask for anything more without external amplification... But honestly, I don't feel like anything "better" is necessary since I have have a sub handling all my LFE.

Looking to upgrade my rear speakers soon with the corresponding 6x9s.

Good stock replacement

These are good to replace factory speakers and thats it. I had these hooked up to a little amp and they kept blowing. My amp is only 35 rms, so i wouldn't recomend using these on an amp.

Decent Speakers

If you're looking for something decent and a low price these are good. My truck came with Dual's that were too small and rattle like crazy, these are definitely a step up from those, not the best but average and sound good for the money.

Good quality for the price.

Replaced my stock speakers in my Honda CR-V by these Pioneer. They are well balanced. Of course you cannot compare to more expensive systems with amp, subs, etc... but to replace stock speakers and plug them directly to the deck, it's just fine.

Great Bass!

These were sent as a replacement for a lesser model number, that discontinued. My wife's car has the older model. These sound much better and have more bass.

Just OK sound

Not the greatest sound but, for the money, they did a halfway decent job of replacing the old rotted speakers in the door of my GMC truck. I learned the hard way to orient the terminals upwards and to tape down the wires so they don't get jarred loose over time (actually, about one week in my case.)

A lot of bang for your buck!

I purchased these Pioneer speakers because the old ones in my car were going bad. I was skeptical at first because the price was low and these were only the regular base speakers. I bought them anyway and I'm glad I did. The sound quality was excellent for only regular speakers. If you want to have the volume to the max, then these speakers aren't for you. But if you want a great quality, low priced speaker that sounds good then I would definitely recommend these.

This speakers are truly the representation of their specs! Pretty bright on the high frequency and quite punching on the low end, consistent with their specs! All together a good package for any replacement speakers.
If needed I will by them again........worthy of their price!

Good stock replacement

I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 98 Honda civic. They are a good replacement speaker for late 90s and early 2000s cars that didn't come with good speakers. The highs are pretty good but I have to turn the lows way do and let my sub take care of that. All in all for the price that they are you can't go wrong.

Able to keep up with my stereo and highs and lows. Create amazing low bass that even with my subs turned low you can hear bass, amazing at high volume and low volume. Nice crisp sound with the built in tweeters.

Great sound at a great price

I have owned several pioneer sound systems and for the price they have all been great products. These speakers fit as described and were easy to install w/ the adapter kit in my wife's VW Beetle.

Great Speakers at a Great Price

I had replaced the head unit and added an amp in my daughter's 2002 Tahoe. Over time the added power got the factory speakers rattling. These Pioneers were an easy screw-in replacement and sound much better than the factory speakers, even before they started rattling.

Best Bang for my Buck

My wife's car had a pair of blown-out OE 6 1/2" mids in her back deck. While it was a surprise, I knew that she didn't want me to break the bank on a pair of speakers; she doesn't know good from bad, so the charge on the card was going to dictate her opinion. Pioneer has always been a solid brand for mids, and the price that Sonic offered was (as always) the best in town.

Even for running off the head unit, and being nowhere near fully powered, these guys have got some pretty good mid-bass kick to them. Very clear high end definition for the tweeters. If it weren't for my wife not wanting massive volume, I'd put an amp to these things and feel strong about them taking a real pounding.

It just goes to show that you don't necessarily need MB Quart components to get really good quality sound. Nothing bad at all to say about having bought them.

I bought four of these for my Honda Accord. Powered by a JVC arsenal deck, the speakers couldn't handle half the power. They popped and cracked. They have a paper surround. I took a loss and sold them on ebay for dirt cheap. Replaced them with Kicker 6.5KS. Very disappointed with Poineer now.

Great speaker for the price

I just bought these and they sound good for the price i paid. I installed them in a 2006 Chevy Aveo in about 30 min. Just need a new head unit to go with them to get the power they deserve. Just not a lot of bass but 6.5" speakers aren't made for bass.

pretty good speaker for the money, replaced the dieing bose 6 1/2" speakers in the doors of my 05 Audi A6 and they sound pretty solid. fit almost exactly in the factory mounting holes (no mods needed) and i "fabricated" some sound deading to go around the speaker's bracket face. sounds really good even though the pioneer is a 4ohm speaker replacing a bose 2ohm speaker. does not seem to put any strain on the factory amp. the speakers could use a little help reproducing its low and mid range frequencies but with all low end speaker's the high's are nice and chirpy. good buy for the price.

Great speakers

I just bought these for a 2006 Chevy Aveo rear deck. I installed them by myself in about 30 min and they are a whole lot better than the stock ones that came with the car. Highly recommend just need a new head unit next.

Not Good at all

It stop working after 3 week it sound OK for the first week than went down hill I took them out and put them in the trash. I feel like I got rip off. Sad.

Pioneer 5 Stars

These speakers are the same as anything else from Pioneer. They perform. I replaced $120 Polk db series because the vocals were flat and the $50 Pioneers put them to shame! the Treble that these speakers produce is clear loud and accurate. Now of course they aren't going to pump out the bass like a 6" sub in your door but that what better Pioneer speakers are for.

I would recommend these speakers. They sound great in my 2010 Tacoma. I did deaden the doors while installing the speakers. I'm very happy with them especially for the price

I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking to upgrade their factory speakers. They are perfect if powered by a factory system. They sound sweet, but if you got an amp, you should consider some Pioneers that support higher wattage.

Nice Speakers

Nothing negative to say, definitely an upgrade from the factory papers. I can hear decent bass even at 60 and beyond with 4 of them in my Saturn l200. At $40, an awesome speaker.

Speakers sound great!

Great sound in a small package! Simple attractive speaker grills/covers too. None of that bulky garish plastic junk that looks like it's pretending to be from outer space. These are grown up speakers, not wanna-be's. Plus, the fit in the factory mounting locations on my 95 LandCruiser behind the stock speaker grills, totally maintaining the stock appearance, but with much improved sound!

2004 Tahoe

I’ve had these 6.5’s in my Tahoe for over a year running off of head unit power and have never been disappointed! Even with a Memphis M6 15” In the back, the music is clear and plenty loud to balance out with the bass from the sub surprisingly just off of head unit power. Great set of budget bangers!

Bought these for my new '98 civic ex coupe and these sound great! Compared to stock, these speakers blow those away! Only complaint is the lack of bass in them but if you have subs in the car you should be perfect!
