Superb Budget Amp

I bought this a month ago to power my 12" Fi BL sub rated at 1500 watts RMS. This amp certainly does 1500, even with the gain matched properly (about 1/4), I need to significantly reduce the sub level to reduce the power to a reasonable level for the beast Fi BL. Does this amp do 4000 watts? No, I expect it does 2000 - 2200 - which is incredible for $240. Does it live up to the BB name? Yes, it is like a smaller, more aesthetic BB2400.1. Still a fan of Big Bang amp series!

Definitely worth it!

I have this amp hooked up to two Alpine Type R 12's. I drive a Mark 4 Jetta, and my car slams.
This amp pumps out a lot of power, perfect for a great system. I strongly recommend this amp, couldn't have asked for anything better.

pleasantly surprised

I bought this a month ago and let me tell you this is by far one of the best amps I've ever purchased, it puts it just like it says not a true 3000 watts but definitely 2500 watts and you can't be the price picks up good lows, I suggest doing the big 3 to be safe can be a little power hungry but definitely worth the price, like the internal cooling fan, would purchase again!

great amp

i hooked this amp up to 2 pioneer pro 12s 1000 rms each sub. i wired the amp down to 1 ohm and have it about a 1/4 of the way turned up on the amps gain. this amp really puts out some powe. now i am sure its not 4000 rms. it does seem to push about 2000-2500 rms at 1 ohm because my sunbs are really being pushed to the max and they are really flexing. the amp is very sleek and very beautiful. i love that it has a fan built in and even wired at 1 ohm being pushed for over an hour on a road trip it did not turn off due to heat. i havent had a single problem with this amp. i would highly recommend this amp for subs that require serious power. i have been into cardio for years and i believe this amp can push a sundown,w6,w7, kicker l7,and fi subs. if you buy this amp i promise it will not disappoint you and can handle almost anything you throw at it. make sure you upgrade your stock battery and add atleast a 4 farad cap. hope this review helps anyone who is on the edge about buying this amp!!

BIG BANG FOR THE COST

This amp absolutely blew me away I have it connected to a 2009 Version Memphis quad coil 15" subwoofer and I can't turn it even halfway up on the levels of the amp. Beats the hell out of my car. I plan on changing my entire setup later to 4-12" subs but i am torn between RE, Memphis and The Champion series Pioneer subs. I recommend this to anyone on a budget and wants some true BANG!!!!

Big Bang for the Buck!

I chose this amp after the other brand I ordered was out of stock and I'm glad I did. Cosmetically it is beautiful and the power output is great. I'm running eight sundown audio e8v3d4's running at 1ohm and it pounds. I would recommend this amp to anyone.

Well worth it!!!

This Big Bang series is insane, I have one hooked up to 4 15inch kicker cvr and I hit 146.7 db. All my gains are low and I have to update my deck. I'm running 4 gauge wire, stock battery, stock alternator. I'm definitely ordering another amp and upgrading to zero gauge wire and doin the big three. For the price well worth it, see u soon sonic!!!!!!

Great amp

I purchased this amp as a alternative to the hifonics that was on back order. Let me say I am glad I did. It has plenty of power to run my eight Sundown Audio e8v3d4 subs at 1 ohm. The crossover control is great too. The cosmetics of the amp is a 10/10. They remind me of the old US Amps from the mid to late '90s. The blue logo that lights up looks great too. It's not too flashy or cheap looking and isn't excessively bright. I would buy this amp again and I would recommend it to friends or prospective buyers. This is my first planet audio amp ever. The only thing that would make me happier about it is if it was built by ZED audio like the old planet audio amps.

I've only had the amp 1 month and have had zero issues with it. Durability will come with time!

PLANET AUDIO to the world

i first started out with seeing a friend with a full panet audio system in the early 2000 and when i say a full system i mean it.... i am from an island in the caribbean named Barbados.i have since started to build a system which compiles of pioneer head unit /planet audio crossover/ 2 planet audio amps/planet audio cap/2 planet audio bb subs and 8 power acoustik 8's. when i first started to build in 2012 and told a friend about my planet audio venture i was met with harsh coments and worse of all they were not to my face but i knew the potential of the system so no one could chinge my mind....when i finally got it together it was a blast the the bb 4000 and the ac 2400 held their own to many ppl surprise and this is about 2 yrs and running the little TOYOTA FIELDER has been repping planet audio ....they have done no wrong by me this far and i will tell anyone great /fantastic buy ps. let the big name brands come/game face on GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...lol

Affordable power

I bought this amp a few years ago and wanted to wait a while before reviewing. The bb4000.1 is a very strong amp for the money. It's a great buy in my opinion. I've been running it at one ohm throughout the south Texas summers without a hiccup. While pushing 8 planet audio AC12D subs in a homemade 8 cu.ft. sealed enclosure, it gets EXTREMELY LOUD in a 4dr s10 blazer. Judging from the 250 amp fuse rating I assume I'm getting every bit of ~2200+ clean watts. I upgraded to the ad244 alternator (bolt on from the junk yard $50) and bought a group 31 battery (secondary). It's easily a dominator in the budget build arena. So I absolutely recommend buying this amp! Be smart with your subwoofer purchasing, gain match your system correctly, and get no less than 1/0 power cables and you to will be a believer of the bb4000.1.

Pretty good

So when I first got this amp I was super happy, I thought it was amazing! There has been a few times it has over heated and turned out since it is mounted behind the back seat in my Silverado. It's pushing 4 sundown audio SA8's and does a pretty good job but I feel like it isn't pushing them to the max like it should if it was truly pushing the rated power. So all and all I think it's great for the price but probably way over rated power wise.

Boss BB4000.1

The amp has plenty of power but tends to overheat @2 ohm load and goes to protect mode. Ambient temp is still rather warm though (low 90's outside) will see how it does when it cools off more. Running 2 American Bass XR-12D4 dual 4 ohm Voice coil subs (1 sub/channel each sub @2 ohms). in a q-bomb vented enclosure with a secondary battery (Kinetik 2250 amp) All around good amp if you are only going to run @4 ohm loads.

So far so good

It's got some pretty good clean power. No issues yet. I had the 2500 and it kept shutting down when I would really pound on it for awhile so i figured I'd upgrade. I'm running a single Audio Pipe 12 dual 4 ohm voicecoiled in a larger ported box and the 4000 is getting close to cooking the sub after pounding on it for a long period. I have a Onyx lsx dual 2 ohm voicecoiled 12 that will be replacing the Audio Pipe at some point and that will be the true test. But so far I like the 4000 Big Bang the most.
