great product!

I bought this item 6 months ago and cant complain! I cant say anything about the durability other than it still works great. All the power and settings you need, in one small amp:) love it! Thanks Sonic.

Excellent little amp!

I picked this up about 6 months ago, to go along with the PA D1000.1 sub amp.

Pros: it's tiny, powerful and very clean sounding. Nice looking too.

Con: It's a bit more expensive than it's competitors.

If you have the money, do it. I love this thing!

WOW!

Just received my amplifier today and i am just downright impressed by this amp. The size of the 4000.4 is just amazing considering how much power it produces. Hooked it up to some infinity 6x9's and pioneer 4x6's and thought i was going to blow them! The sound was crystal clear, got insanely loud, and sounded a ton better than my old Hifonics 4ch. Another great addition is the 0 gauge power and ground adapters. Great to give this power hungry amp the power it needs. Was skeptical at first because i never bought anything Polk but in the end NO REGRETS at all! If 50 watts rms is not enough for your speakers, upgrade to this amp just be sure you have quality speakers.

So far so good!

Bought this for our river boat, it's installed in the bathroom(no moisture). Ran it in 123 degree temp full volume for an hour, never shut down and was not much above ambient temps. Very impressed...

Money well spenr

Always been a fan of Polk, grew up with it and its also my home theatre system. After seeing thr PAD4000.4 i thought this would bbe a nice addition to my car stereo system. Install was easy and its really loud and clear. Love it!

Love this amp always been Alpine fan but this is by far the best amp I've owned very very loud and clean pushing 4 polk 6.5 and a polk 10" sub

Great Amp and Service

This amp pushes my JL mx 880's very well. The amp does a great job and no issues what's so ever. Most of all sonic electronic is a great place to buy from.

A big bang for your buck!

I recently in stalled hertz components in my front doors and hertz coaxials in the rear doors and looking for a powerful clean amp to push these speakers without taking the last of my money.This polk amp was the one I needed.It's s/n ratio low distortion really pushes the hertz really well I'm very happy

Love these speakers

I bought these speakers because the component speakers I had did not have adjustable crossover for tweeters. They were way too much. These have 3 settings for tweeter volume. I have them set at -3db and seems perfect. They really sound good at high volume. I feel lucky to have found them for $89. What a steal. I would buy again.

Great pair of speakers for the price.

It's my first ever component speakers and powered by JBL gto 4 channel 100?4rms amplifier. The speakers sound great and the tweeters are quite bright so you have to play with eq to get the best sound.
Couple of things Polk can done for ease of installation is to reduce the size of crossover and tweeter size as they are huge.

Sounds fantastic!

Sounds better than an older model I had of Polk in the car of the same exact type of component speaker. Very balanced mid sound and very clear high end soundstage. Doesn't sound too shrill in the highs at all. This has some bass. However this should not be the reason to buy these. Use with a sub and turn down the bass on these for them to sound the best!

Easy to install..just make sure you wire them to an amp so they can perform as they were intended to.. they need juice to let loose

Polk audio rocks

By far one of the best 6.5 component sets I have owned.
Crisp clear mids and highs and very respectable low range.

They sound great and are very loud. I've always been a big fan of Polk products.

Meh

The highs and mids are fantastic, crystal clear. However, it bottoms out pretty quickly. I didn't expect thumping lows, but I sure expected a better low representation than a stock speaker(regardless of stock make). Overall I'm happy for now and it's still a great value but I'm definitely going to search for new speakers in the future.

Great Sound and Great Value

I have always been impressed with Polk's sound and consistency which is why we bought these for my son's build.

They are very durable speakers, and I have 75 watts RMS going to them without any problems. They sound clean and are very powerful. They were an excellent choice at a great value.

I absolutely hate the speaker grilles though! For our build we had to use Q form kick panels and these square grilles wouldn't fit properly or look right in our build. We actually wound up having to buy round speaker grills for them. (might have been better buying different speaker brand with the added cost of grilles?) This is my only complaint.

Can't beat the sound or the price for a good quality product.

Quality upgrade, pairs well with a nice amp

The Polk Audio Dxi 6501 (component speakers) consist of a midrange woofer and highrange tweeter with a crossover to separate the frequencies. I have these connected to a bridged 4-channel amplifier outputting 150W RMS at 4 ohms to each door (older Alpine MRP400). With this setup and after about a week of break-in period, the speakers are just magnificent. High frequencies are the best part of this setup but there is surprisingly an adequate amount of bass as well. Surely, you need a subwoofer for the deep bass but it is definitely accurate sound reproduction and puts out far more bass than my old Alpine speakers I was running. Even in my car (a 2 seater convertible) I can hear everything loud and clear on the highway. For the price, these are the best possible option if you care at all about accurate, balanced sound.

POLK PA D4000.4

Bought this amp to go in my 2010 Tacoma Reg cab, Polk db6501's in the doors & Polk MM1040 behind the seat. All I can say is AWESOME.
Loud, clean music! Couldn't be happier. If your looking for a 4 ch amp, to use as a 3 ch, as I did, this works very well. Only gave it 4 stars in Durability because it's only been in use , a few months. Time will tell.

Sweet amp

Very pleased with this amp. I have 2 sets of 6.75 mobile monitor components running off of it. These speakers are 2.7 ohms each channel and this amp has no problems pushing them. Clean and crisp sound. Cannot ask for more.

Polk PA D4000.4

This AMP is impressive.. For its size, the power output of 125 RMS watts x4 @ 4ohms is amazing. Based on the video on the main page, could be higher.. I am running 2 JBL 6x9's and 4 Polk Audio 6x9's, and this thing powers them all quite nicely. adjust-ability is great, very happy with this AMP in my boat..

Well Balanced sound system

Shipping was solid. No worries about Sonic Electronix service.
I installed these in a '97 Mustang Cobra, only after a thoughtful approach to deadening the road noise on those poorly sound insulated Fords.....I want to hear the music.....These speakers were mounted in the doors. Tweeter install was custom but easy if you are at all handy. Don't over think it. The woofers perform well, not a thumping bass but they have a presence. They are after all, mid-range woofers. The tweeters perform very well. Not overly bright. Paired with a Sound Ordinance amp this combo sounds great. The closest I have ever come to my living room vintage audiophile set up in a car. Which says a lot.
That being said I'm still looking for the best EQ setup from my head unit. There are many, many options. I have some new but older Boston Acoustics 6x8 on the rear deck that dominate. fortunately they also sound great. Overall I have good speakers, now I have to find the perfect EQ setting. There are even settings on the crossovers (!) Hard to manage when I'm driving but I'll get there

Outstanding quality with punch

I was more than impressed with the quality and strength of sound coming out of these Polk Speakers. You must supply them with the appropriate power (~100 Watts RMS)...or you will be disappointed. I originaly intended to just install the speakers and power them with an aftermarket Head Unit. I was disappointed (with HU only power)...until I called the In-House experts at SonicElectonix who exceeded my expectations in finding the right amplifier and setup for my situation. I paired these with a JL Audio 2 channel amp (110 RMS each channel), lined the doors with sound deadener, and POW...extremely tight and powerful sound...with incredible high end. More than impressed

Sounds Amazing

I got one side installed so far it is a hard install considering I am putting a 6.5 inch speaker in a hole meant to mount a 5.25 speaker. It did fit thought and I still can row my window down. I also got a bad crossover with the component set and am in the process of Sonic replacing it. So far now I have one side Polk and the other side Pyle Pro and the difference is night and day. Polk is the way to go, despite all the issues I am having, most is my choice since I'm putting them in a car not meant for this size speaker.

Very compact for its size

I installed 2 Amps on my boat to power the Polk speakers. very easy installation. Very compact. Very easy to adjust and very clear instructions.

PAD 4000

I ordered this amp and received it about 30 days ago for my boat. It been sitting on the shelf ready to install since. I opened it up when I received it and it appears to be quality product. That's about all I can tell you since I have been traveling for work since shortly after its arrival. The reviews I read before buying were overall good. I hope to get it installed soon, then I can give it a real review but I keep getting emails to review it now. Hope this helps.
