Great value for money.

Pros: Great looking amplifier, and it has very clean sound with good specifications. Nice and compact, and fits under front seats very easily. Great value for money.

Cons: It doesn't have bass boost feature.

Great all in one amp

This amp is fantastic, power is true as advertised and the sub section is stable to 1 ohm. It's really tiny and fits perfectly under the seat of my 2013 Mazda CX-5. I have it running off an audiocontrol LC6i and powering my OEM speakers for now and a single 12" MB Quart PS3 sub at 4 ohms. I get a clean, noise free signal from my factory head unit. Everything on the amp seems solid, and it's marine certified so you can use it in a jeep or a boat as well. It is capable of running all 5 channels off a single pair of RCA's if needed which makes installation very flexible. The included bass boost knob is great and there is a green light on it that is on when the amp is on. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy this amp again.

Great sound

I just recently brought this Polk Audio amp. It is fantastic. I installed it in my boat and it performs beyond expectations. Wish I would have bought one years ago. Easy to install and takes up very little space.

Small Amp with lots of power!

I got this as a gift to replace another 5ch amp not worth mentioning (CEA rated amps are really worth getting). Enough power to run 2 sets of Polk db6501 components and 2 10" Polk MM subs in a 1.2ci sealed box. Just make sure to tune your amp and you'll get loud clean distortion free music out of this little thing. I would highly recommend this if you're in the market for a 5ch amp.

Great amp, clean sound, compact

In Toyota king cab pickup, mated to NVX door and rear speakers and Kicker loaded 10" (dual 2 ohm driver) sub that fits nicely behind driver. Once frequency crossovers were properly tuned and levels adjusted--wow! Great sound--Rock, funk, jazz (horns, cymbals, real drums, etc). Tight punchy bass, nice ringing highs with low distortion. I rewired the sub from 4 to 1 ohm to take full advantage of the amp, and limited the voltage to ensure my kids don't blow the speaker!

Instruction manual is weak--needs better section on proper amp setup. When you plug in the Subwoofer level adjust, you need to turn it up to 50% or so to begin to hear anything. Or, first leave it unplugged from the amp, set your max levels, then plug it in. If the adjuster is left turned all the way down (as mine came) you'll get NO SOUND out of the subwoofer channel. Neither the Polk nor the SonicE tech's knew to do this during our "debug" sessions! Silly, in hindsight. 3 stars for durability only because I haven't had it long enough to know.

Best 5 channel ever owned

Absolutely as powerful as it states. I am using Focal components with this unit and a Memphis M3 12 at 2ohms. I am also using a capacitor and have nondoubt that this single all in one amp is top notch quality fairly small packge. Only hassle was mounting it. Clumsy design for screws. I ended up using 2.5 inch wood screws tonreach through corner mounts. Very happy...i have had other 5 channels before and had many issues...first time I've been happy with an all in one unit!

Good value

First time trying Polk audio for my car/truck. Very happy so far. Small in size but sounds great and has plenty of power for my four component speakers and sub. Can't give 5 stars on durability yet but very pleased on everything else.

Dxi 651 speakers

Polk has never disappointed me. The quality of product is much better vs Kenw00d or P10neer. So is their quality control and testing. I like how it came with a foam type of spacer to go between the speaker and door panel- helps reduce vibration kind of like Dynamat would. Some of their speakers I had before had like a spray-on rubber? on back of the speaker frame. Clearer sound always with them.

Very good sound

Purchased these speakers to replace a set of worn our speakers in my 99 Tahoe. These were of considerably better quality than the originals and installed nicely in place of the originals. These speakers have a significantly improved base response over the stock speakers. and do not distort when driven by the stock amp in the Tahoe. This was a good solution for a replacement speaker that made a good sound system even better.

Sound good but aren't super loud, pretty good bass over factory, highs are clear. All in all there way better than stock and for the price there great I'd buy them again

Good sound at a good price

I installed these in the front of my 2004 Honda Civic LX sedan. They fit with no issue, using a 0.5" thick mounting bracket (the speakers come with their own, but I reused the bracket from the previous speakers I had installed).

The sound is good, especially for the cost. They do not provide deep, powerful bass, but would be a great improvement over most OEM speakers. I use these speakers alongside a subwoofer, so I want the subwoofer to handle the low frequency end anyway.

Nice sound for OEM Replacement speakers. You may need brackets for Subaru Crosstrek or use cheap OEM speaker housing and cut out old woofer to make adapter for this speaker.

Miata spesker replacement

I got these speakers to replace the stock speakers in My 90 Miata. They were a direct replacement other than having to drill two new mounting holes. The speakers fit fine with room to spar and the stock grills covered them fine. The speakers are a great improvement over the stock speakers.

Love these speakers

I bought these speakers because the component speakers I had did not have adjustable crossover for tweeters. They were way too much. These have 3 settings for tweeter volume. I have them set at -3db and seems perfect. They really sound good at high volume. I feel lucky to have found them for $89. What a steal. I would buy again.

Great pair of speakers for the price.

It's my first ever component speakers and powered by JBL gto 4 channel 100?4rms amplifier. The speakers sound great and the tweeters are quite bright so you have to play with eq to get the best sound.
Couple of things Polk can done for ease of installation is to reduce the size of crossover and tweeter size as they are huge.

Sounds fantastic!

Sounds better than an older model I had of Polk in the car of the same exact type of component speaker. Very balanced mid sound and very clear high end soundstage. Doesn't sound too shrill in the highs at all. This has some bass. However this should not be the reason to buy these. Use with a sub and turn down the bass on these for them to sound the best!

Meh

The highs and mids are fantastic, crystal clear. However, it bottoms out pretty quickly. I didn't expect thumping lows, but I sure expected a better low representation than a stock speaker(regardless of stock make). Overall I'm happy for now and it's still a great value but I'm definitely going to search for new speakers in the future.

Great Sound and Great Value

I have always been impressed with Polk's sound and consistency which is why we bought these for my son's build.

They are very durable speakers, and I have 75 watts RMS going to them without any problems. They sound clean and are very powerful. They were an excellent choice at a great value.

I absolutely hate the speaker grilles though! For our build we had to use Q form kick panels and these square grilles wouldn't fit properly or look right in our build. We actually wound up having to buy round speaker grills for them. (might have been better buying different speaker brand with the added cost of grilles?) This is my only complaint.

Can't beat the sound or the price for a good quality product.

Quality upgrade, pairs well with a nice amp

The Polk Audio Dxi 6501 (component speakers) consist of a midrange woofer and highrange tweeter with a crossover to separate the frequencies. I have these connected to a bridged 4-channel amplifier outputting 150W RMS at 4 ohms to each door (older Alpine MRP400). With this setup and after about a week of break-in period, the speakers are just magnificent. High frequencies are the best part of this setup but there is surprisingly an adequate amount of bass as well. Surely, you need a subwoofer for the deep bass but it is definitely accurate sound reproduction and puts out far more bass than my old Alpine speakers I was running. Even in my car (a 2 seater convertible) I can hear everything loud and clear on the highway. For the price, these are the best possible option if you care at all about accurate, balanced sound.

budget hi-fi

Really for the money it's tough to beat for what you get. First off the frequency response with or without amplification is amazing with next to no audible distortion. Moreover the materials for speakers are inline with those costing twice as much. Generally, with few exceptions these will please most regardless of music taste without a sub.

I replaced the factory seakers in my wife's 2013 hyundai elantra.Sounds 100% better.

Sound great! Bit of a custom fit in 2006 Wrangler

I installed these into a 2006 Wrangler's rear sound pods. They aren't a drop in replacement though. Had to carefully align them as they barely fit onto the cutout in the pods, and had make modifications to allow the factory speed clips to be used. In order to install the grills I used a heat gun to heat up the plastic pod and mold the pods to the grills so they fit flush. Also stuffed the pods with polyfil batting to help smooth out the bass. Glued the foam deals that came with the speakers to them before mounting to help seal frame to the plastic sound pod. So far seems to have worked out well. I would recommend 5-1/4 thought which should be a drop in replacement.

Nice speakers for low money

The Polk DXI 651 speakers sound great for the low cost. We bought two sets to replace the factory RAV4 speakers and we are very happy with the result. Relatively simple install and great sound. I only wish the speakers came with the proper electrical connectors.

Best bang for the buck

I LOVE these speakers. I've always been a fan of Polk Audio for their sound quality, especially in relation to the pricepoint, but these speakers have really blown me away. For the price of a pair of low-end Pioneers, you get a MUCH higher quality speaker, with amazing sound quality, and best of all, they're marine certified, which means I don't have to worry if they accidentally get a little bit wet. They come with adapter plates, which are nice and sturdy, but you can still break off the tabs you don't need easily with pliers. They also come with speaker grilles, which I did not use. Mounting hardware is included, however wiring leads are NOT included, so make sure you order some speaker harness adapters.

I fully recommend these for anyone looking for a nice speaker on a budget.

Great AMP, running in Boat

I purchased this amp to replace a old amp. WOW, the Class D technology is worth every penny. I am running four 7.5" wake tower, two 10" subs, two 5.25 wake tower, six tweeters. Disclaimer, all the speakers are high efficiency speakers meaning they don't take allot to be loud. No distortion, extremely loud. I cannot believe so much power from such a small amp.

Well Balanced sound system

I installed these in a '97 Mustang Cobra, only after a thoughtful approach to deadening the road noise on those poorly sound insulated Fords.....I want to hear the music.....These speakers were mounted in the doors. Tweeter install was custom but easy if you are at all handy. Don't over think it. The woofers perform well, not a thumping bass but they have a presence. They are after all, mid-range woofers. The tweeters perform very well. Not overly bright. Paired with a Sound Ordinance amp this combo sounds great. The closest I have ever come to my living room vintage audiophile set up in a car. Which says a lot.
That being said I'm still looking for the best EQ setup from my head unit. There are many, many options. I have some new but older Boston Acoustics 6x8 on the rear deck that dominate. fortunately they also sound great. Overall I have good speakers, now I have to find the perfect EQ setting. There are even settings on the crossovers (!) Hard to manage when I'm driving but I'll get there

Outstanding quality with punch

I was more than impressed with the quality and strength of sound coming out of these Polk Speakers. You must supply them with the appropriate power (~100 Watts RMS)...or you will be disappointed. I originaly intended to just install the speakers and power them with an aftermarket Head Unit. I was disappointed (with HU only power)...until I called the In-House experts at SonicElectonix who exceeded my expectations in finding the right amplifier and setup for my situation. I paired these with a JL Audio 2 channel amp (110 RMS each channel), lined the doors with sound deadener, and POW...extremely tight and powerful sound...with incredible high end. More than impressed

Sounds Amazing

I got one side installed so far it is a hard install considering I am putting a 6.5 inch speaker in a hole meant to mount a 5.25 speaker. It did fit thought and I still can row my window down. I also got a bad crossover with the component set and am in the process of Sonic replacing it. So far now I have one side Polk and the other side Pyle Pro and the difference is night and day. Polk is the way to go, despite all the issues I am having, most is my choice since I'm putting them in a car not meant for this size speaker.

DXi is legit

to be honest I never had heard of DXi mostly I knew about the DB series but this 12" sub right here really provides a lot of boom, if anything I think they underrate their subs unlike some of the low end brands out there, I'd consider this a competitor to Rocford and Kicker at the fraction of the price. I put this in a sealed box, wired to a 2000 watt belva amp Sonic recommended and the boom I get is 10/10

Quality Sound on a budget

Money is tight and I needed a budget subwoofer that could satisfy my needs. I did not know what to expect when I purchased this sub but was blown away when the first time I hooked it up.
