Great pair for the price

This is my first pair of "high dollar headphones", have always used ones from Big Lots. Wanted a pair of foldable headphones that i could use with my tape player and zune, for an upcoming trip to AZ from AR that i could pack and store away. Got these after watching a few reviews on. They have matched my expectations set by those reviews. Have used now for a month (got on a holiday sale). Great sound reproduction when making tapes.

Possible one negative is the cord for these. Instead of being like a regular aux cord (3.5mm to 3.5mm), this one is different (2.5mm to 3.5mm). The small end plugs into the headphones. No connection problem but i just know that i am going to loose this cord eventually and will have to make one.

The mic is okay, have used it once and my friend didnt care for it.

A killer bargain!

Very well made with an appealing plushy deign. These set of headphones have surprisingly good sound quality. The ear cups are a bit small for the average ear thus may become uncomfortable after prolong listening sessions. The headphone jack is 90-degree type and will not fit a smartphone with a case unless an adapter is added. The carrying pouch is some sort of lint-magnet type cloth, so i'll be replacing it with a compact hard case instead. Overall, very good for the price. Especially in these age of cordless Bluetooth devices.

$

At $30 there really isn't anything bad I can say. Plenty of bass.

Awesome Headphones

These Polk's are great sounding. The bass is not overdone. It's nice and controlled. The highs are accurate and composed. As far as comfort goes I could wear these for hours. Overall Totally worth the money. I'm glad I purchased them. Thanks Sonic!

Great budget headphones

I am a big fan of Polk Audio's car speakers, and have them in both of my vehicles, so when I saw this pair of headphones for only $30, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try them out.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the carrying bag that comes with the headphones. It is a nice fleece-like material with a leather draw-string and a leather nameplate with the Polk logo. The headphones fit snugly in the bag, but the fit is a little tighter than I would have liked. Still, this was a nice bonus.

The second thing I noticed was the cable that comes with the headphones. It includes a microphone for use with a cell phone when making calls. The microphone piece is made out of plastic, and feels very cheap, which is a departure from the high-quality feel of literally everything else about the headphones. Once I plugged the cable in, I noticed the buttons on the microphone would rattle around and make a quiet but annoying sound. This is obviously drowned out when you're using the headphones, but I was nonetheless disappointed with this part of the product. Normally, I would just buy a replacement headphone cable without a microphone, as that is not a feature I use, but the plug going into the headphones is not your standard 3.5mm plug, but rather, the smaller 2.5mm version. This makes finding a replacement cable more difficult.

The headphones themselves feel very high quality. They fold up nicely, and the pull-out adjustments make it so they will fit any sized head, even with a hat on. The phones themselves are an on-ear design, which I generally find less comfortable than the over-ear variety, but these don't feel uncomfortable on your ears. Extended use may prove otherwise though. The sound quality I get out of these headphones is outstanding. Everything is crisp and clear, and there is plenty of bass without being overpowering or overwhelming. Another nice feature is the sound-dampening. These are not quite noise canceling, but they certainly knock down a large portion of outside noise.

Overall, these headphones feel like a much higher quality than their $30 pricepoint suggests, and offers great bang for your buck, a hallmark of Polk Audio's products. With a different cable, these would earn 5 stars across the board, but as it comes, I have to knock off a star on the design because of the cheapness of the microphone.

Best sounding value headphones ever!

Highly recommended. Just tried them on "Bass I love you" by Bass Mekanik and these headphones play well all the way down to 20hz ! Fantastic. My other $200 noise cancelling headphones can't do that. Fantastic value at $19.

Awesome sound and quality!

I 1st bought a pair of these headphones because they were super cheap and sleek! I later bought a 2nd pair because the quality, style and sound! My kids use them while listening to music or on their iPads! They both love these headphones and would recommend them to anyone! Thanks for the wonderful headphones!

Real Bass lovers headphones

I love the polk audio hinge Headphones. Bass, mid & treble are well balanced. Some music can be crisp and clear depending on how the engineer mixed them. For some music the Bass is kind of over powered with not much clarity in the mid and highs, and on the other hand some music has clear highs with a crisp sound stage all around. Even watching movie in stereo 2.1 is great with clean deep bass reponse I definitely recommend these headphones a 100% plus the price tag of $19.99 you can't beat them.

Surprisingly Great Quality Headphones for the Price

I have had these headphones for a few months now and I am completely surprised by the quality of these headphones.

For the price these have great sound, durability and quality. They do not feel cheap and the components are not plastic and cheap.

They sound better than the expensive Beats headphones (which are way over priced for what they are) and feel strong with good materials.

I would suggest these to anyone who are on a budget and want a great quality headphone for the price.

Polk

I've been a Polk fan for a while in the home audio area. As I was looking for some Polk car speakers I saw the Hinge and ended up buying them and not the car speakers. You for sure get your moneys worth for how cheap they cost. If you're looking for something under $60, these are ideal. If you looking for $500 sound then these are not for you.
