Great product

Awesome speakers. They are only 2 way so you need more to fill out a complete system. But great power with a 45w rms per channel amp. Never ran it without an amp. But sounds great.

perfect!!!

i bought these as replacement speakers for my TJ and could not b happier. Hooked them up to a small amp, and the sound couldnt be better for the price. and being that they are marine grade, a little splash from the hose every now and then after a little play time, wont hurt either.

not worth the money

Installation was easy. I do NOT recommend. The speakers did not last 3 months. I don't listen to loud music but need to hear the speakers when I have the top off my Jeep. They did't sound much better than the factory speakers and one doesn't even work now.

POLK AUDIO SPEAKERS

I purchased a new set of 4 of the 5 1/4 polk audio speakers and put them in my pontoon. The sound quality is great. I am running them off of the head unit which came with my pontoon, I am sure that they would sound even better if they were either running off of a good head unit or if amplified. I am very happy with these speakers. They sound 10 times better than the originals. Great buy!

Nice speakers

Got a pair about a week ago. Haven't hooked them up yet but just the look and feel of them make me think that they are very durable and will sound fantastic. I will repost when i install and hear them.

Polk Speakers from now on !

I recently changed out the sound system on my 08 Harley Ultra Classic. I put in a set of the Polk db5251 components in my fairing. They sounded so clear I just knew I needed to get a set of these for my rear speaker pods. Installation was a little tricky. Thanks to Sonix and their line of spacers I got them to mount. The db521 are powered from the factory radio and the db5251's plus my Polk MM DVC 8 inch sub are being run off a rockford fosgate pbr300x4 amp. These polk speakers and subs not only surpass the Hog Tunes speakers I had they are so much clearer and put out more volume and the suckers are not even broke in yet. I now have a sound system that handles it all. Thanks again Sonix and their staff for helping me with sane pricing and great shipping.

DB521 speaker

I bought these a couple of months ago to put on my motorcycle. Finally got the chance to put them on today. One, they did not fit my application (which is fine). But, I just hooked one up to see what it sounded like, and the tweeter was almost non-existant. Not good on a motorcycle with loud pipes/wind. I have some cheaper Kicker CS40 speakers on the bike now (what I could buy on short notice before a trip last year). Those sound way better! Especially, the tweeter (night & day!). I'd even cover one up, then the other. I was disappointed in the sound of these speakers. I had some Polk Audio speakers almost 30 years ago, and those things rocked. Not so much here. They were average at best. Maybe I got a bad speaker(s)? Since it didn't fit, I didn't even try the other speaker. I also bought a pair of the DB651 speakers as well.

Not wonderful...but I didn't use them to their potential

First off I need to say that I installed these in my stock BMW. BMW uses a very low powered amp and loud tweeters. I could never really hear any difference with these Polk speakers. I believe that they would be excellent had I hooked them to an amp and disconnected the stock BMW tweeters.

Excellent product

I am running these with a Sony CDX M60UI, a pair of db651s and a Bazooka 8" passive sub. The sound is wonderful. Very crisp highs and soft lows. I have heard that they sound even better with an amp. Not much room in my little boat to mount an amp, but these sound so good, I really don't need one. With a 93dB sensitivity rating, a few watts will give you great sound. I would recommend these to anyone.

Nice sound, but not much bass

Got these speakers to replace stock kia speakers. Ended up keeping the stock speakers because these ones have terrible bass output. They were great for full range, almost making music sound 'live' - everything was good but the bass, so they had to go.

Polk Audio db521

I was skeptical of these speakers at first because I really wanted the Polk component's, but i have not been disappointed by them. I have an MTX 704x pushing them and they've held up really well. The highs are clean and crisp and almost never too bright. It helps to be able to aim the tweeter so you can guide the sound to the driver seat. I've had them for about a year now and they sound as good as the day i pulled them out of the box.

Awesome speakers

I couldn't wait to get these mounted on my road glide, but the HD shop told me the wrong size speaker for the cowling. I'll find a use for them. They look great. Have ordered the correct size Infinity speaker. Have a buddy who has the Polk's and his system rocks. So this will be a review of his street glide with the db521s.

Great Speakers for ANY application.

These speakers have the ability to be loud especially given the right amount of power. I have used these polk speakers in several applications (coolers, golf carts, my truck) and I have been very pleased with them. The highs can be very harsh at times, lows are ok depending on application (work great in coolers, lacked a little with golf cart baffles). Inside the truck they are okay. Definitely an improvement from stock speakers no doubt. But for the added edge I would definetly pair them with a sub of some sort. Only downfall is the mid-range. Polk could have done better in this category. Im sure if I had an aftermarket head unit I could adjust it better for a better review.

great deal

Plain and simple. Just a great speaker. I used them on my motorcycle fairing. I used 4 speakers with a jvc power unit cd player and being they are marine grade i don't worry about the rain.

Mounted in 1970 VW Beetle - Very Good!!!

I mounted these in a fiberglass kick panel modified for a 1970 VW speaker. These sound and look great in da bug!!! Going to get the Polk 6x9 equivalent for the rears.. The covers will match...

Outstanding speakers

I bought 4 of these speakers for my motorcycles batwing. After I installed them, I took them for a 4 hour test ride and they sounded great. I ran an amp to them 50 watts each and they handled it. They look great too. They do sound better in a sealed enclosure, you can direct the tweeter where you need it and this helps a lot when installing at weird angles. For the price I'm glad I went with these speakers , Darren. Hanford, California.

I have no complaints regarding the product or customer service. Sonic Electronix shipped a quality product at a reasonable cost. Durability is rated at a 3 as of now, I've only had them in use for a few weeks.

Polk DB-521

I purchased these speakers for motorcycle use. Very happy with the increased clarity and volume over the OEM speakers. Upgraded the speakers from OEM and did not install an amp. I am sure the next move is to bring more out of these speakers by installing an amp.

Get the 6.5 if you can instead

While these 5.25" speakers do sound great, I mean really good for their size, the 6.5" sound twice as good if not more. I am running 4 of these 5.25" and 2x 6.5", and a 12" MTX sub, powered by a 6 channel MBQuart amp. The 6.5" are what make this system and if I was just running 4 of them, it would sound much better than the 4 x 5.25" and 2 x 6.5". They are much louder, have mid range base, and just a cleaner sound. If all you can fit are these 5.25" then go for them, they do sound great and are only beat by JLAudio of the same size. These POLKS are amazing speakers.

Great Speakers!

These are one of the best speakers you can buy without getting into components or needing to run an amp to them to make them loud. They are very crisp and have no distortion when the music is up louder. I would definitely buy these speakers again.

good mid rpiced speakers

I installed these in the back of my "05 Scion xB. They installed with no problems with the aid of a Scosche adapter. I have each speaker amped with 25 rms watts. I have the high pass filter on and they sound real well. The highs are clear and the mids are not "muddy". A good value for the money.

Great Speakers

I have had two pairs of these speakers hooked up in my truck for about 2 months now and they're still goin just as strong as they were the day i bought them. They have extremely good quality and they also hit pretty decent for little component speakers.

these are awesome, they are great no distortion, handle the bass from the the headunit power, if you amp them i recommend bassblockers though, mine didnt distort but at high volume in my blazer its so loud you probably couldnt tell. great SQ and very nice vocals! good buy!

Great Speakers!!

I got these speakers right after Christmas for my jeep wrangler and i absolutely love them!! I am an avid off-roader and I really needed a speaker that could keep up with my lifestyle and these definitely came through! For a set of 5.25's these are LOUD!!! Not to mention incredibly clear!!

Good Buy

Ive heard good things about Polk Audio but i was a little disappointed.
I have these in a '90 full size Blazer that came with no speakers so i had to mount them in the kick panels by my feet in the front. The highs and mids sound amazing very clear, i have never heard any distortion form them. The lows don't work very well you can turn the bass up but nothing happens the woofer moves but i cant hear the bass. Its a good thing i bought these with a sub. I would recommend these to someone who was buying them that has a sub to take care of the bass and a head unit that has a high/low freq adjustment not to some one who is looking to change factory speakers

Nice Sound

This Polk speaker has a nice clean sound. For its size its is has a well balanced range. Even the bass is not that bad. If your looking for a 5 inch speaker at a reasonable price this is the one to get.

They are OK

I have Replace My Stock Rear Speakers from My Scion XB 2010 and I had them running with 4 channel Punch amp of 900 watts. They work great if you dont have a Massive sound system of bass like I do lol. I have a Hifonics 2000 watt amp for Bass and when I play My system loud, you wont be able to hear these speakers at all but you can if you have the bass loud and they can handle the watts. I'm replacing them with 3 way speakers but if You have small bass, this would work great.

Golf cart tunes

I bought this sound system with the Polk speakers for my wife's golf cart. Ithas unbelievable sound. We also included a sub woofer and amplifier to complete the sound. Now when we pull up to the tailgate party the golf cart is the center of attention. We also have other Polk speakers, And as always they provide excellent sound

Polk db521 Speakers - work good

I bought the DB521 speakers to replace the factory speakers of my Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager motorcycle. They fit perfect, sound good, and of course they are rain proof.

Horse Trailer

I installed these on the outside of a camper/horse trailer. Had to make the holes slightly larger. Sounds much better than factory.

Polk Audio speakers on HD

Was looking for a good speaker to replace stock speakers on my ultra. A lot of choices but for the price the Polk was what I was looking for. They bolted right up and sound great, even at highway speeds. They over power the stock speakers I have in the rear so I will be getting another set to on the rear. Good price and great speaker.

Busting with some Great Sounds

I purchased the Polk Audio speakers for my 2000 HD RoadGlide. They had a good fit, easy to install and the sound was much better then I had thought it would be. Love them.
