Great Amp at a great price.

I purchased this amp six months ago, it works great, and was an excellent price. And the people at Sonic Electronix were great to deal with.

Alright

This amp is pretty good if you are trying to budget. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to power 10's or 12's that run 800 rms or so for cheap.

Pros:
Cheap
Loud
Very Small
Bass Knob
Doesn't ever get hot. (I pushed 2 Kicker CVRs pretty loud for 8 hours straight while driving from New Orleans to Panama City, no issues what-so-ever. It got warm but that's about it.)

Cons:
Distorts at medium to high volume.
Probably doesn't do its rated power unless your running it at like 16 volts lol. (If you're cheap enough to buy this, you probably won't be running it at 16 volts lol)

I'd recommend it for someone looking for some bass in there car. But if you're looking to break glass or shock people with how loud your system is, this isn't your amp. Get a JL.

nice amp

had this amp on 2 kicker comp 15s wired at 2 ohms and it pushed them to the max it did a lot better than my old crunch 1500

Pretty Awesome

I bought this on a bargain for around $90 bucks a few months ago. After setting it up I noticed a significant amount of power being pushed to my subs. It was awesome and I had no issues with the amp. I started to notice as I got stronger subs that it wasn't pushing as hard even at 1 ohm. I did a little math and figured out that with the amp not being CEA 2006c - that it was only pushing around 864w max and around 430 rms.

so
Pros :
decent amount of features
bass nob
fused and protect modes
runs cool
heavy duty
sounds good and puts out a decent amount of power

cons:

annoying mounting design
doesn't supply enough power when using stronger subs.

If you're on a budget or just starting out this is a pretty cool little amp. Otherwise try to look for something with that magic CEA2006 cert.

Decent

This is a decent amp. But for its quality, it should be a smidge cheaper.

Pros:
* Very small
* Large heat sync
* Decent power output for OK but not great systems.

Cons:
* Confusing bass knob functionality. The manual says its a gain control (as opposed to a bass boost control) but I can't figure out how that relates to the gain control on the amp. They both still function.
* CUTS OFF ALL THE DARN TIME!
* I cannot keep the amp ON to save my life. If you push the subs at all, the amp just shuts off. I even went so far as to install my own custom fans to cool it thinking it was overheating. But alas, it just cuts out because it's junk.

Overall, if you just want a decent thump and are limited on money and space, this is a good buy. If you are serious about sound quality and durability, look somewhere else.

For the record, I have had this for 4-5 months pushing two Kenwood 12" subs wired down to 2ohms.

Awesome

I have one of these in my crown vic powering 2 15in boss chaos extremes in 2 separate boxes (20x20x16) @ 4 Ohms. It does plenty good! I think it was well worth the money. It hasn't cut off once and doesn't over heat much and really puts out some power.

Well worth it

Got this thing powering two alpine type r10's wired down to 1ohm. Everywhere i go people think that i have 12's. Great way to get top quality bass at a fraction of the cost. The only thing i dislike is the extremely annoying blue light from the bass knob

Why haven't you already bought this!

Love this amp! Bought it in the package deal with two 10" Audiobahns and the Kicker wiring package, and currently have the amp hooked up with two little Kicker competitions, I haven't even touched the settings on the amp(so there all set at half) and I tell you what this amp is magic! These subs pound the amp never gets hot, small design and great value, I would recommend this to everyone desiring a great amp!

Great Buy

I bought this amp about a year and a half ago, haven't had any significant problems with it. When I received it in the mail I as surprised because it was the anniversary edition, with the sick skull on the faceplate. Like I've seen in some reviews, the amp tends to cut out in mid-high range sounds, which is true. I'm running two 10" RF Punch P2's off of this @4 ohms, and I can tell you they pound hard. Also, the amp has never overheated either.

Great buy for the price! Recommend for anyone who want's a versatile amp for little money.

Surprised!

I was booming my system Eon a drive from Miami to Georgia and amp barely got hot. It was warm at best. Powering two Kenwood 10's 300 rms, I actually had to turn the gain down on the amp. Getting a head ache! People think I have 12's all the time! Amp works great for the money. A lot smaller than I thought. Recommend for a budget shopper that wants a lot more boom for not a lot of money! Enjoy

Great Amp!

Read prior reviews on Power Acoustik amps saying they overheated and such. Decided to give this one a go for my 3 10" Pioneers. This amp is great! Doesn't even get warm after a long session of loud bass. Good buy for a great price.

NOT A GOOD AMP!!!! PERIOD

I bought this amplifier and sent it right back. I was running 2 Alpine type R 10's each @ 2 ohms so when they were in parallel it was running @ 1 ohm. IT did not even come close to the 1,200 watt performance it says it has. When I ran just the one of the Type R's it was just as loud as a my Alpine MPR-M500 Mono Block. Not a Good amplifier if you want the max power. DO NOT SUGGEST IF YOU HAVE POWER THIRSTY/SUCKING SUBWOOFER!

By Adam on March 14, 2014

I liked this amp

I really enjoyed this amp, and for the money it could not be beat. I think I only spent 100 on it, had it for over a year and never had any problems. Was pushing a single Alpine Type R 10" in a sealed box. Running at 4o I was able to throw that little 10" perfectly! Never got hot, just a little worm at the most. I wouldn't trust it at 1o, but 2 or 4, heck yea.

Pushing the 10" Type R at 4o, it was really nice knowing I could always add one more, drop to 2o and not have to buy a new amp. Room to grow is ALWAYS a bonus in my book.

Had this in my car for well over a year, sold the car with it installed, and I'm sure its still going.

Pro:
Inexpensive
Power
Looks
Everything

Cons:
I never had any cons with this amp. Sure, there are 800+ dollar amps that produce a cleaner sound on a computer reading, but how much of a difference can you really tell for the cost?

nice lil amps

I hear the BMF-2000 in another car and bought the 4000d instead for my set up. This amp has def made me a believer, stays cool to the touch in a hiden comparment even when pounding full power, I've used it to power 2 lanzar comppro 15's @ 1 ohm, an MTX 9500 10 @ 2ohms and now a Memphis mojo 15 @ 2ohms and it just performs flawlessly providing plenty of power and I love it. I am considering buying another amp and another MOJO!!! That would be nuts cause my 1 mojo powered by this amp is totally sick.

Good for the price

I got this amp about a year ago and since then it has pushed a 15" Eclipse Ti @ 1 ohm and now I have it on 2 10" Audioque SDC2.5's @ 1 ohm and it hasn't skipped a beat. Only gripe is that it "thumps" when it turns on (and no i don't have the remote wire plugged into the fuse box which will cause this). I'm running no boost and the gain about halfway up so it's not user error. Also note that they claim 1200w RMS @ 1 ohm but due to the fuse rating of 80A it will only put out 960w @ 1 ohm at 12volts. (I x V = P so 80A x 12v = 960w). They rate it at 14.4v which will have it put out 1,152w but no system runs that high under heavy load so you will NEVER see the 1200w so be warned. If you know that you get what you pay for and you won't actually get RMS then it's a decent purchase.

Little size, lots of power

Although everyone says these are overrated even if they are a little you cant tell. I have one hooked up to 2 Kicker CVR 12s and they pound like crazy. With its small size I didnt know how it could possibly throw that kinda juice but it does and it sounds great. Awesome amp, would recommend to anyone.

Interesting

I bought this product about 5 months ago. It's a really good amp for the price. Have it hooked up to 2 Kenwood KFC-W2512 in an enclosed box all bought from Sonic. It was a little confusing to hook up considering that it has 2 outputs instead of 1. It definitely pounds the hell out of these subs and it sounds really good on most songs, especially R&B and Rap. I am a little disappointed in the sound that this combo produces for some rock songs and country though. The bass isn't nearly as good and crisp as some of the other amps I've had in the past, like my 240W kenwood mono and my excite 600w mono. For $170 though, it's a pretty darn good buy.

Awesome amp and well worth the money I would buy it even at normal price I have this amp powering a 15" kicker L7 2 ohm dual voice coil. It takes a beating with the sub and performs very good even in the cold. if you are looking for an amp get this one cause you get more watts per dollar and I would say its even better than a Kicker amp

A

This is a great amp, had it for six months driving two 12 inch MTX TR55s in my Tahoe. It has plenty of power I'm planning on buying a capacitor or a second battery because it does draw a significant amount of power. But turned up half way it has no problem flexing my back windows I would definitely recommend this product, especially for the price. Only issue was the remote for the amp gain doesn't work it never did that great but the amp itself is perfect and stays cool never gets hot.

This thing is sick... While it lasted.
It thumped like crazy, til one day it just shut off. I've emailed power acoustik and I'm going to get it fixed. I also bought the extended warranty from Squaretrade, I suggest you get that. But other than that it was good.
Oh, and it's not really 2000w. That's a peak, look at the RMS.

ive gone through plenty cheap amps trying to get a decent amount of power for my subs on a budget and this one is a winner i have it connected to 2 performance teknics 12s at 2-0hms each and this little monster sounds perfect in my 99 infinity q45 but if your going to buy this monster make sure you have enough power coming to it. i have a stoke 110 amp alternator and a 3.5f boss cap and my lights still dim like crazy with the amp all the way up i might have to get a new battery in my hood and a kinetic battery in my trunk and hopefully i dont need to upgrade the big 3 but the amp perfect in my opinion its a must buy if your on a budget . its cheap small and very powerful dont let the size fool you it punches some serious power for 170$

Not what i expected

I purchased this amp. with the idea i was getting an amp better than the Kac9103d. I was wrong it barely pushed my 12 in subs wired to 2 ohms I had the amp maxxed out. I had my kac9103d on the same subs, wired the same way and they beat way harder, with the amp only half way. I read the reviews and that i could upgrade to a few more watts and i was wrong. I was very dissapointed and as for the bass nob the led power light is so bright it's a visual nightmare at night. No matter where u place it. It would be better as a keychain flashlight.

Great Amp

I have this amp on a Power acoustik Mofo 122x wired down to 1 ohm, it doesnt put out 1200 rms, even at wide open gain. i have mine tuned with a volt meter at around 992 watts, and it slams. From the beginning i tuned the amp conservatively to break in the sub and slowly tuned it, and every time it kept sounding better. Now im about 5 months down the road and the sub and amp combo continue to sound better. The low pass filter and subsonic filters really help the sub pound out the lows. Only thing is it makes my sub hot, but it only sounds better at that point. Great value, awesome amp

Like it

I really like this amp. I have had all sorts of amps and car audio (rockford foasgate, etc..), and so far this amp holds its own. I'm only running 4 ohm, but even after a long car trip, with hours of use, its still perfectly cool. I don't know how well it handles 1 ohm, and anything over powered is going to brake. it seems to me that as long as you take care of this amp, It will last the test of time.

By Losstech on July 6, 2010

small price, big power

The amps good for what i paid for it, however anyone buying one of these needs to understand that
Power Acoustik likes to over rate their amps, when they are 1200rms @1 ohm, thats cuz they test their amps at 15volts, instead of your cars 12 volt setup, so in reality your only getting 900-1000rms but really unless your doing SPL comps, you don't need anymore for daily driving, i have this pushin 2 Hifonics Brutus subs also purchased on here and it sounds and looks great

I didn't like however, how this amp has 2 sets of speaker terminals for a mono amp, i've used allot of amps before, and i've never seen this, it can be confusing just follow the instructions in the booklet, which again can be confusing cuz it covers every PA amp in production

Great budget amp

I bought this amp to power my power acoustik mofo 12". I ran it at 1 ohm for a while until i destroyed the spider in the used mofo 12". Went to an IDQ 12" and ran it at 8 ohms with about 300 watts rms and it hammered that sub very nicely. Took that out and got two DIYMA R12's and have it currently wired at 2 ohms getting around 900 w rms. I have reached its limits but with what it is putting out it is a decent amp. For the price i paid it was worth every penny. I have a feeling this will be in my installs for quite some time. This amp runs very cool and it is extremely small. Get this amp if you need a small amp that puts out a massive punch. The slave/master feature is nice and i may try something with two of these strapped together.

Good while it lasted...

I purchased this amp about 6 months ago, and took another 2 months to get everything installed. When i finally got this amp hooked up, it pounded the crap out of my subs, PA as well. It lasted for about 2 months, then just stopped working. I thought it might have been the subs that blew, but i hooked them up to my other amp, same model, and they still worked. I unhooked it, and reinstalled it again, still nothing. It sounded great while it lasted, but now that it doesn't work, it is just a fancy looking paperweight. Be careful with this item.

Great value.

BAMF 2000

Just recieved this amp today. I was running a 12" MOFO on a BOSS 2600W amp the lows were crazy on that. Hooked this amp up to run it at 1ohm, but the lows arent as good as the BOSS amp. It's still loud AF. The MOFO is in the 2.8 cu ft box also purchased from Sonic. Either amp its loud. will be tweaking the 2000D to make it sound perfect. Love the input knob too its a BRIGHT blue. Overall i am very pleased with this product.
