Highly Recommend

With 11 months of usage, I think I am now prepared to give a thorough review. The units are actually an upgrade from the cheaper $100.00 units sold in stores. These play avi, mp4, and divx video formats as advertised. Video formats are recognized in both DVD and the 8-GB SD card media. Sound transmission through the FM transmitter works great, and when it doesn’t, we switch to a different channel (8 channels available). Video quality is good. I am not really adept in measuring panel brightness or resolution, and 99% of the time, I sit at the front, so I can’t confirm the “ultra bright LED backlighting”, low reflection, or 640x234 resolution, but from a layman’s perspective, video quality is pretty good. DVDs do not skip when playing (unless there’s a scratch on them already), a major issue I had with the cheaper units. Looking back, the cheaper units were hand-me downs and performance could have degraded over time. Due to that experience (first set of DVD headrests), I decided to pursue dvd headrests, such as these, capable of playing from a USB or SD, and now I am able to quickly copy multiple videos to a flash drive or SD card, and let them play during long trips. I would recommend purchasing a warranty. The three-year warranty I purchased paid off, when one of the units stopped working and I am still covered for future issues. I’d have to say that what I love most about these units is (1.) the ability to play MP4 and divx vidoes, because you can fit a lot more video files on a disk, (2.) the 9" wide monitors are one of the largest available headrests on the market, and (3.) they are capable of playing movies independent of each other or one as a slave to the other.
