Navi-Box 1

Follow up to my original review. Received the interface cable from Power Acoustic, no cost, and completed installation. Unit works fine. Overall very satisfied with unit although I don't believe it is quite as user friendly as my Garmin 1450. Routing to be the same on both units. Rerouting is quicker on the NaviBox than the Garmin and it also does not pester you like the Garmin does.

Navigation is as advertised and as good as all of the big names.easy to connect to head unit and to operate .Gripes: 1)The urban voice - skip using it and just use the normal female or male voice. 2)Erasing a wrongly entered location can be a hasle to fix. 3)to bad it's not mobile
Over all perfectly syncs to head unit and guides you to location.

great gps

I use this navi from New York until Florida and works great, was very detailing all ways. Easy to operated and efficient. Do exactly like the add says. I will recomended this gps 100 % thanks Sonic Electronix!

Headache getting it connected

I have installed this unit but and still waiting for the adapter cable to connect the Navibox-1 interface cable to the TID-735NRBT head unit. Seems as though it is an "optionl" part and not included with either the Navibox-1 or the head unit. I'm still wondering why the provide the interface cable that won't connect directly to the head unit or at least include the adapter with the nav unit. Farenheit/Epsilon Customer service is terrible! It took me about 8 calls to finally get to tech support and then another 5 or 6 the get to parts. At least the adapter was a no charge item. Map up date are Navteq and it appears as though they need to be purchased through Farenheit parts department. I'm still researching the availability through Navteq directly. I would rate the box higher but because of the cable issue I am lowering my rating. I'll re post once I have it functional. Mechanical installation was easy, but mount it someplace you can get to the SD memory card.

I have this with my 8.3 soundstream head unit and it took forever to update the software and it would lose its signal every minute! Easy hook up and uses a nice layout and has good options!

Basic GPS

There are no frills to this GPS add-on. Truthfully, you get less in this box than you would in a similarly priced GPS that sticks to the windshield. But, having it built into the stereo system, with volume adjustments to the music when the turn-by-turn directions are being spoken, made it worth it to me.

I was somewhat disappointed to find you can't zoom the map easily, or even explore the map by swiping your finger - as far as I can tell, you can only see the map around the area where you are currently located.
