Decent

I was a little disappointed, the insert inside the double din area doesn't snap in, will probably add some double sided tape, right now it just slides out if I accelerate. The unit is all plastic, but it mounts the unit just fine, no problems there. Color is a little off, but it still blends fine, I wish I would have gone with the black personally, might swap it out some day.

Tacoma Installation

I've seen this item both loved and maligned by various reviewers on various sites. I found that proper assembly is easy but also easy to screw up if you're not paying attention. You have to transfer all the plastic clips from the factory fascia to this one. Properly assembled it functions very well --> it is rigid, secure (on and off road), fits well, and has been in and out of my dash 4-5 times with no issues. It is a slightly different shade of gray, but it looks very nice and my installation has received only compliments. Even so, they could have beefed it up a little and I would gladly have paid the extra $5-$10.

Easy to install

I had to pull out the receiver quite a few times. It held up pretty good. Color is a little off but barely noticeable.

Comes with everything you need to install, and was a real close match in color.

ITS alright...

Adapter works alright... the look is close, i will give them that, but the coloring is off, and the new piece is not textured like stock. But it does breeze the install though... And, the brackets are plastic, not metal

This looks awesome in my '07 Tacoma. Looks just like it was made just for it. Would have liked to see metal brackets instead of plastic. would have seemed more sturdy.

Great, stock looking finish!

The outer trim fit my 2005 Toyota Tacoma perfectly, blends in well and looks just like a stock part. The mounting brackets fit perfectly but are a little flimsy. Aluminum would have worked better for the mounts. Overall a great product

HAS THAT CUSTOM LOOK

This Dash Cover matches the shift cover on my 2008 tacoma. Which gives a custom look to the dash.

Can't get it in black

The fit an function of this kit is pretty good. The radius doesn't quite match my dash but it is close. This was not available in black so I squirted some primer on it and a coat of flat black and it matches very well.

This is a very nice adapter that fits very well in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma, the radio fits nicely in the cut-out.

Should of bought the Metra kit.

This kit is very straight forward and easy to install. But like many other reviews the color is way off and makes it look cheap. The trim ring that comes with rarely stays in place and I'm constantly pushing back on. The Metra kit is far more superior!

The Devil is in the Details

So they give you the dash surround, new mounting brackets (even though the ones from the factory radio will work) and a trim piece that may or may not be needed, but they won't spring for the 5 clips that hold the surround in place. I had to rob them from the factory surround, so it's not as valuable when I try to sell it. I don't get the logic. They designed the space for the hazard button/clock in such a way that it clips in place without using the plastic pieces from the factory unit, but they couldn't figure out a way to do that with the surround. Or just pay the few pennies and provide new clips.

I see a lot of people talking about how the color is off. What about the texture? Maybe it's not on older models. I have a 2011 and the radio area is dimpled instead of smooth like this surround. Not that big of a deal, but just one more little detail that they should have included on this custom unit.

The unit functions fine. I'll keep it, but I just expected more from something that is supposed to be designed for my truck and not some universal kit.

Fits great and looks great

It was fairly easy to install in my Tacoma. I thought it would be flimsy since the mounting brackets are plastic, but it is very solid. It looks great, like a factory piece and the color (grey) is a perfect match.

Decent fit

installation was a breeze, but that isn't really product specific. No modifications were necessary to fit my new unit or the clock/hazard. The clips from the original bezel must be used. The fitment is snug, but doesn't sit perfectly inline with the dash like the OEM piece did. Maybe with a little more adjustment that could be made possible though. Not ruling out any installation errors. Overall, it's the better product for our trucks in the market. The texture is a flat silvery/grayish color. Not textured light silver like the original was. It's much better than the other products that I have tried, like Metra...

Functions properly but cheaply made

I’ve had this radio in my 2004 GMC Envoy for about a year and everything functions properly on it, I just think Power Acoustic skipped a few quality control steps. Right out of the box, the glass screen cover had fallen off. The sticky tape they use around the edge to hold it on is garbage so I had to go buy some 3M tape to fix that issue. I also don’t like that there’s no setting to keep the clock on the screen, you have to hit the clock button to get it to switch to see the time.

However I have no complaints about Sonicelectronix whatsoever. Very fast shipping and good prices! A+ for them, B- for the radio.
