PD-454B Power Acoustic

Just installed this unit in my golf cart, gas engine, 12 volt system.
Going on 2nd day and it works absolutely awesome, using an amplifier and 2 6 x 9 speakers. Sitting in the golf cart with radio playing I barely have to go past 1 on volume, a little higher using Bluetooth. Easy install, touch screen is very responsive, remote is a nice size and works good, very nice features for the price. I would recommend this unit to anyone reading this review.

Not happy with my purchase

My first ordered unit did not play nor charge my iPhone with edition of bluetooth trouble. It was replaced after being told it may have been a defective unit. Second time around the bluetooth is is working well but the same result with my iphone. I told myself it may not be apple compatible so then i tried my Samsung tablet only to get the same result as my iphone. It did not read it either nor charge. Im just taking advantage of the bluetooth. I could be somewhat content with the unit if it were to display what im playing from any of my devices on the screen.

Don't feel confident with this purchase.

Installed this radio for my granddaughter's graduation. In the first 24 hours the screen went fuzzy, tried anything including resetting the radio (5 times). no success. A couple of hours later it straightened itself out. Who knows what the future holds.

Good design at a great price.

Was looking for a in dash DVD player that was not a flip down or flip up and this was the perfect one. Already had an aftermarket stereo installed and this one fitted directly into the previous install kit. Pleased with this choice.

Poor reception on FM band

I installed this unit and the factory Ford radio got much better reception then this radio. Close by station fades in and out. threw box away so returning it is not an option. will try to get aftermarket FM booster wired in or wear a tin foil hat when I drive. Hard to get faceplate on and off and to access card reader you must remove face plate.

Nice unit

The only thing I complain about is that it doesn’t have an automatic dimmer when you turn your headlights on but overall for a suburban or a suburban type vehicle it is perfect.

Also charges using the USB.

Power acoustik PD-454B

Got this unit for my 2000 Chrysler Sebring Convertible, Because I wanted to use my phone from the radio .but didn't want to spend a lot since just sort of week end car plus a soft top convertible and didn't want to risk having my top cut in order for some one to take it .Haft to say great unit lots of features for the money can be a little tricky to operate control aren't that clear easier thru the touch screen than buttons phone option works great good sound and can even see the display screen with top down. if your looking for a great little unit this is it,

Didn't fit a 2003 Chevy S10 - don't buy for that installation

Not a bad unit, although the removeable faceplate mechanism didn't seem as durable as I would have liked - wouldn't have trusted its longevity. But the bigger problem was it didn't fit. I took the dash apart on my S10. The body of the unit fit fine, and I tested it and it sounded and looked pretty good, but when I finished reassembling the dash, the large trim piece that surrounds the instrument panel and radio area has a bulbous shape to it, and the faceplate would not fit back on the radio unit. The faceplace hit on the surrounding trim piece. So I had to remove it and buy something else (smaller flat faced double DIN worked). What a pain!

VERy nice for the price

Yes I recommend this radio. It has all the bells and whistles with a touch screen and you can hook up a back up camera. So far so good for me.
