Power Acoustik PD-931NB ... GREAT!!!

Anyone that bashes the 9.3" Power Acoustik PD-931NB hasn't owned one. I installed it in my 2000 BMW 740i and it works great. The touch screen works like an iPad, and the DVD/MP3/CD player plays better than the BMW original unit. I added the 4 yr warranty. The only thing that I wish it had was Song/Artist ID, but I get that on my iPhone. Don't let the non- "Big Name Brand" scare your... This unit is incredible, especially for the cost!

It works great

First let me tell you that I never buy stuff online but this is a great buy it works well the USB work,the SD card slot works well. Plays the DVD with no problem my only compete is that when you play videos of the sdcard and USB drive it doesn't show up on the others tv in my van I gest they didn't make it to work that way but I had it for six mouths and it still going strong

Excellent!!!!

Great deal for the bucks! Deck came with everything that was needed. Install was less than 30min, big sound coming through my bose system. Great features! Please buy a tablet or ipad case for transport, the case that comes with it is for dust only!!!! As i found out the hardway..... so sad right now! Almost forgot as soon as you get in your car and turn the key your cell sync's right up. My range is about 10 feet. Enjoy your tunes!!

Excellent Head Unit

Excellent Head Unit.Love The Functions & Features. Installed In 02 Accord and was very satisfied with the outcome. sonicelectronix provided everything for install which made it alot easier. The screen is large and very bright. The only downfall is that I wish I had more eq presents but its clear wen playing.

I researched this unit from the manufacturer down to the tiny corner audio installation shop, read every review I could see on the Internet, even went as far as listing all the pros and cons. I had a really cheap planet audio that worked great, but I needed up grading. I settled on this unit for price and features and had it installed professionally. It lived up to everything I wanted and then some. However, in my rush to have this unit, I paid nearly twice the sonic price, AND paid separate for the install kits! Should have got it at sonic and saved a few hundred bucks. This unit works better than advertised.

Impressive Product (So Far)

The interface is very appealing, and user friendly. I love the drag and drop widgets. The picture has very good quality and it has more features than i had expected for a multimedia player. It is easy to use, set up and navigate through the different function screens. The sound is decent, i wasn't looking for a competition stereo anyway. The bluetooth is awesome, i use it all the time. I can access my phonebook and recent calls list directly from the stereo. I keep my movies on sd card and my music on flash drive. Wonderful!!! It fit nicely in my 2007 cobalt, and doesn't cover any vital components. Vents, a/c, etc. And the detachable screen is definitely a plus.

I hesitate to give a high rating for durability because i haven't had it that long, only time will tell.

I Do Plan On Buying The NaviBox2 Module And The Digital Tv Tuner Module Soon.

It is an great item for the price. I love it. Movies and videos play clear. I'm definitely thinking bout purchasing another one for my girlfriend.

Best car stereo I have ever purchased

I absolutely love this unit. I recently was separated from my wife and she took my damn truck which featured a legacy unit with a 3.1 inch screen that I had installed but after buying this unit and having it installed in my 2006 Dodge Durango I am proud to say I am on top lol . Love it and especially for the price that I paid its awsome.

Alright Unit For The Price

Good picture, a little hard to see with sun shining in but has varying viewing angles, total 4 which help with that. Great features but cannot get any MP4 videos to play as outlined in the features.

Cons: Display sits down low in my Intrepid, regained my heater controls from previous flip up Pioneer unit however when unit is tilted in angle 3 and 4 I cannot put vehicle back into park until setting display back to original start up angle position. Does come with protective film which was little difficult to remove from display. 3 stars are due to display angle difficulties.

Awesome product, great price!

I purchased this head unit for my 2003 lancer and with some minor adjustments I was able to get it snug fit into my car.

This thing is a beast, for the price it is the best head unit on the market.

I love this unit all functions are awsome the only problem i have is the x-bass makes it sound not so good and sometimes the balance and fader are adjusted different by itself when i turn it on. I had a salesman try to sell me this unit at a trade show for way more i went through sonic for half the price was delivered in 2 days and works awsome i love this unit and Sonic!

I was a little worried at first because I didn't know if it would fit in my '99 Tahoe but it fit perfectly. Great sound and design. The touch screen could be a little more responsive. The Bluetooth technology is almost perfect and the audio performance is pretty good. But over all I love it.

Review of PD-931NB

Did a lot of research to find a larger screen unit that would also fit and look nice in an Mercedes slk230. The ratings were great and it does look good even though it does block a couple minor switches. It just barely fits in my dashboard but then it is an "aftermarket" unit. Sonic has a super fast delivery system but they forgot the free wiring harness and antenna adapter. It came real fast after I pointed it out. I also purchased the $30 three year warranty. Very good overall experience.

Blue tooth works great for music but everyone has trouble hearing me on calls music sound is good I have two amps highs and lows 2 15 ' s s. Haven't tested if you can play video from USB flash drive but I can't connect my phone through USB which sucks because can't stream video over blue tooth plays disc's good divix and some avi I believe. I'm very happy with it so far .

Nice in dash

Crafty design and great pic easy install however I am returning because I can't get it to fit properly into my car due to the deck bracket. I wish it did because it has some nice features.

High guality picture

The picture quality of this receiver is amazing. My main use would be for pandora radio and the Bluetooth. I will be buying one soon from Sonic. Seen this one in a car stereo store in town but was much more expensive.

Awesome Radio,

I bought this unit as a gift to my wife. The unit rocks. It was easy to install and sounds great. The features are plentiful. I just need to add the Navi-Box 2 for navigation. The blue tooth is clear on phone calls and the dvd picture is very clear. The price is the best feature. I highly recommend.

Great head unit

I bought this head unit because of it's size and the wow factor. The unit shows a great picture, sounds great, the Bluetooth is fantastic. I'm waiting on my second one from Sonic now so I can install in my second car lol.

FO SHO

I ordered this and got it on time..Got it hooked up today. This unit is the best I've seen in a while. It kinda hides my temperature controls on my challenger, but other than that easy install and fast. If you're thinkin' bout getting this, go for it..

Ive had plenty of in dash DVD players great buy for the money does what it says it does and looks awesome in my 2005 Chevy impala can't talk about durability just received and installed 2 hours ago

I def would recommend this product works and fits perfectly In my 04 Trailblazer I also installed one In a coworkers 99 Tahoe it was a tight fit and you would have to angle it out to get to your ports on the side but it worked out

Great tv radio

The radio is everything u want for a tv radio I love it, but to make ur installation process a walk in the park if u are DIY please buy a aftermarket harness everything matched up perfectly!!!

hmmm it's okay

I feel like, this radio could be alot better, the Bluetooth sounds sloppy from time to time, the touch screen doesn't react as well as it should and the e.q. are really limited.it's an ok radio.

Nice concept. Terrible product!

Pros: Detachable big screen and lots of features.
Cons: Touch screen is sluggish. Arranging icons is tedious for example. Worst user interface I've seen. Think it's running on Windows CE. Which is what most of these Chinese junk runs on. Search eBay and you'll find loads of units from china. It has the jack for aswc but it doesn't work well, when you volume up for eample, it will skip track instead and response is slow also. You need to have space for this unit to fit. If your dash is recessed it won't work, it needs enough room to stick out and tilt. Don't see why anyone would give this a positive review, maybe they never had a quality product before or just impressed with the screen size. I wouldn't recommend this unit, stick with the real brands like Kenwood, Alpine, Sony etc

Everytime I turn off my truck, the volume goes down to 13. Other than that I love this unit.

Awesome/ Actually high quality/ Looks great

I have this pumping 2 12's in an S10. Fits good, large screen, can adjust brightness, plays pretty much all media, USB port works great for the flashdrive I have, I even bought the tv tuner and navigation units to go with it. People think I paid 5-600.00 for it when I paid only 249.99 when it was on sale. No problem at all yet and I jam a true 1200 watt amp with kinetic 100 farad capacitor to boot. i even bought one for my wifes Hyundi accent and it fits flawlessly as well. For hers I bought the 7 inch version though. They are the same head unit just a 9inch and a 7inch.

bigger than expected

I bought this for my wife, however I am driving the vehicle now and find that the screen is a bit large for the dash. Has good sound and features plus a touch screen. I probaly would not buy this again though. Just not really my style, but not bad overall.

Everything I wanted and more

I did a ton of research on this before I purchased it. I check out the pros and cons. I look at reviews and took them in consideration. I love this. I had it for weeks. No issues with it. The volume issue some ppl take about. Is not an issue. Switching between sources is a slight delay. But that's Tue same with most electronic devices. Picture is great. Some is great. And it's powerful. No amp needed for speakers even with my subs.

good value

I bought this to install in a friends car for his birthday.

This radio work good and puts out a great sound.
Pros. Big TV with a great picture. No issues with functionality. Has 4volt preamp outputs and supports front/read/sub out.
Con's. Only thing to mention is the touch screen is a bit slow. Takes a split second for the screen to register the touch and react. Not to bad for the value. The touch never missed or skipped anything just a hair laggy. One last issue. The unit and the sleeve it slides into are about an eight of an inch larger than standard radio size so I had to modify the vehicle to accept the unit.

For the value you can't get any better. It has all the features for adding extra amps and making them sound good. The screen is huge and looks great. For a budget TV/radio unit this is a must buy.

This TV is the shizznit! Everybody thinks I have my ipad as a radio! Lol... I still haven't figured out all of the features, but picture quality, and the power it puts out is phenominal!!! If ur looking for a good head unit this is it.......

Good Buy

I had just recently purchased this item (02/2012) The instilation was very easy on my 2003 nissan altama, and I was able to ground the break wires so the DVD will work in drive. (warning: only attempt for passanger use only, I have no reason to watch dvd's whle im driving. There is just no point) anyway the dash kit did not fit around the unit so I had to cut it bigger, but luckly this unit came with a plastic
cover so it hides the uglyness. The Bluetooth feature is really cool, the unit has the ability to gather all your music and you controll it from the iPhone with no connection through wires, and also your contacts, missed calls ext. The DVD has excellent picture, and the screen is a perfect size, and its detachable there are a couple things I have a problem with tho, the I pod feature was hard to navigate to a specific song with the touch screen, way too many buttons to push. With and without the remote and the cord that it comes with is bulky and hangs on the screen, it uses the A/V and Usb cable to work. If I could make this better I would change the on screen set up, maybe have your own backround, kinda style it up, and have the iPod/USB come through the back of the unit rather than the front. The unit does its job so I would recommend it to anyone beacuse it has a good price.

I would buy this unit again, only issue i have is that it interferes with the shift nob. Sticks out a bit as well. i will still give 5 stars. Good product for the money. I love sonic A+

I just purchase this fine piece of art today. I saw it yesterday and the looks blow me away. When the salesman demonstrated all the features it had I was over hill for it. It replaced my dual xdvd 3201 and got this one.

awsome unit

This is a great unit, much better than the other one I ordered from Power Acoustik. Works flawlessly, picks up the phone on Bluetooth mode great, and pauses when someone calls. Also has a great picture. Well worth the money!

Pretty Great Unit

This unit is pretty great. huge size, functions properly and has plenty of media formats to use(usb, sd card, aux cable, blurtooth, cd, dvd). Nice sound also. The only thing that could make it better is more personalizations and the main thing that irks me is the fact that the time is not shown in all of the menus and you cant make the time show up bigger.

Nice but one problem!!!

Well I got the pa 931nb in my 97 blazer 4dr and I noticed it was a big difference in sq compared too even my sony xplod cd player and started doing some research should done that first before dropping that money for the 931nb and the signal>noise ratio on cd is 70db lol and most your sonys,pioneers blah blah is least 95db so you are going too have sq of a cassette player. I love everything except it don't have parametric eq controls and hpf.lpf and so on. maybe ill keep it or just do sound processor and nice nice amps and so on... So everyone who likes it, Im glad you do and ur not a picky audiophile like me who is sq.spl so im trying too do best of both worlds good luck

Bluetooth Already Failed

I purchased this for my excursion 6 months ago and now that I have it I wish I wouldn't have let the big screen draw me in. The touch screen is unresponsive, you need all these wires and adapters to play an apple device through the software. Aux is fine but the thing that ruined it for me that audio for bluetooth stopped working and that is one of the biggest reasons I liked it so I can go hands free for called. The mic was fine when it worked. I think its hit and miss with this though. Shipping and hardware was excellent and easy to install.

Features Errors Cost Me $100.00 Bucks!!!!

I am very disappointed that I canceled my order of this unit. I ordered somewhere else and will have lost half the savings that I would have saved buying from Sonic as I started with in the beginning. Sonic, your price for this unit is the best I have seen. I am sure many of my friends will be ordering this unit from you as soon as they see mine. I will guess at ratings due to the fact that I don't have the unit installed yet. But I'll be back, Sonic Eletronix.

Power Acoustik PD-931NB

Just had it installed in my 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara, Fits Perfectly. I currently have a 32GB SD Card attached which I use daily, I have yet to use the USB or IPOD Connection. The quality is really nice and the sound it sends to my factory speaks was an improvement from my factory stereo.

My only issue is the interface with my steering wheel controls, I used the "Metra Axxess ASWC Universal Steering Wheel Control" which works to an extent but not at all what I expected, I assume its not 100% compatible hence I would give it a 3 of 5 stars.

Cant say much about durability since I have only had it about 6 months now but so far no issues what so ever.....

I would definitely recommend this unit to a friend and or buy again.

It was ok

I bought this radio and its good.the only thing is that a week into it every bump i hit the video goes off and i have to cut the car off and back on for it 2start over...it was ok for the price but the quality wasn't as good as i thought it would be
