Sounded like a good Deal. Now I wish I had something else

At first this product sounded like a great thing, and I was very happy with it. It was easy to install. Easy to use. Customer support was very helpful. Until I wanted to update the GPS mapping software. I called Sonic Electronix and was passed to several peoples voice mail with no return phone call. I gave up on them and called Power Acostik and was informed that Neviextras.com no longer supports there products. So there is no way to update the mapping program. If you want this stereo for the BT or the CD/DVD player then its a great deal. If your hoping to use the GPS. Save your money and buy something else.

You Won't Be Sorry!

I highly recommend this stereo! For all the more money this stereo is, it's JUST as high quality as a 600 dollar unit! It's super easy to use, responsive, and the GPS works great! I do have some installation notes though. 1. You'll notice that this unit has a "parking" wire which is pink. What this wire does is tells the unit that your in park which enables you to watch DVDs. The point is that they don't want drivers driving while watching a movie. But how about the other passengers? Now if you want to go and hook that wire up right then that's your perogative. My suggestion is, do what I did and simply GROUND THE WIRE TO THE CHASSIS OF THE UNIT! It's quick, simple, and it allows you to watch DVDs whenever you please. 2. Make sure to purchase an installation kit for your vehicle! It will make your life MUCH easier! Enjoy your stereo!

Leaves a lot to be desired

Unit has no noise reduction in the power supply so it gets all the alternator noise. I had to buy 2 noise suppression units for the 2 power wires and there is still a slight whistle, I assume from the camera connection. Other than that, I am happy with the sound quality and the functionality. The bluetooth mic works great but I am concerned about no support for map updates.

Overall 5 stars if it came with installation instructions.... Not just a diagram.

I ordered it mainly because it has the GPS. The CD player in my wife's Equinox quit working and I found a new replacement on eBay. However, I decided to try this unit. WOW ! Love it. The only negative thing I can say it, it doesn't come with installation instructions. It has a diagram on the radio but that's not in details. For instance, when I got to the pink wire, which is for parking (playing the DVD Player), I don't know where it goes. I went to YouTube and a guy said to ground it. I did it but I don't think that's where it goes. If that's where it goes, why pink ? Who would know to ground a pink wire. Confusing. I will ask the guys at Best Buy. They're pretty helpful. Other than that, absolutely fantastic radio for the price.

Radio condition

The navigator map is old, is not updated, and don't found the address correctly, right now don't work. (Show error, no work).
How I can have SD card map new? Don't work whit the stering wheel.

Exceptional value

Easy installation with enough power to push some decent mid grade coaxial speakers. Sounds great and video/navigation screen looks great also. Can't go wrong with the great deal sonic offers on this unit. I definitely recommend it.

An 0kay product for an okay price

I'd recommend this to somebody who is looking to get the job done and nothing fancy. The navigation is spotty and Bluetooth is the same. The Aux plug-in works great, as well as the microphone. I wish it would pick up more radio stations.

I would not buy it again.

The radio does not want to hardwire link to my android phone. Other reviews state that the navigation software doesn't update anymore, which I have no clue means how I have not got the radio to link properly. It does link by Bluetooth so making calls through the radio works fine.

Spend your money on something else

This did not come with any instructions. Honestly was a pain in the button for a so it yourselfer. Says you can play did but, it won't even take a disc. The navigation system in general could be simpler to navigate and seems out dated. I would return it buy, it was such a pain to install I don't even want to mess with i . I'm also pretty sure it had already been opened and possibly installed.

GPS, back up cam, radio, DVD, memory card,
Everything else is great.

Installation Power Acoustik PDN-626B in a 2016 Grand Caravan

I have had this installed for 1 week and am very happy with it.
To install this in my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, I had to dremmel out 1/ 8 inch off the inner plastic basel top and bottom. I also had to bend the metal bracket with a 6" adjustable wrench, top and bottom. Neither of these can be seen after installation as the front bazel cover them.
Make sure you get the correct antenna adapter, it is not the Metra 40-eu10! It is probably the Scosche CRAB.
The Metra adapters supply the back up signal for the Back Up camera.
You still need to connect the back up lights to your camera for power.
I mounted the gps antenna on the metal bracket inside the dash and it seems to work OK although it took a long time to get a lock on satellites the other day. Sound quality is good for me but I am not an audiophile.
I used the brown wire to SWC-1 and had to setup in the SWC-2 in the radio software. I could only get 5 of the six possiblilities to work. The interface had to be set manually to number 6, Pioneer and Jensen. Follow the instructions on pages 12 and 13 to manually set the interface.

Doesn't need an ASWC1

This is a really pretty nice head unit. You don't need to buy an extra steering wheel conversion unit, the 626 will learn your cars' signals. I put it in my 2006 Mazda MX-5 and the stock controls work fine. The equalizer has plenty of frequencies to use, and there are several curves built in. Easy to navigate around the unit, but the instructions seem to be translated (badly) from Chinese. Seriously. Read the manual several times and it makes sense. Mostly. Lots of great features at any price. And it has a real volume knob! Try and find one of those these days...

Great value for the money

I would recommend this product. Very easy to install. Haven't had any issues with the GPS as other reviewers.
Pros: Great value for the money. Ease of install.
Cons: Radio reception very spotty. OEM unit was better in this aspect.
Because of this issue with the reception I'm giving it only 4 stars

Great Look

I would recommend this product to friends and family. The price was good. I had tok get it I stalled by professional stereo installers for under $275.00 dollars. Other than that. It was well worth it!

Good unit with a few quirks.

I've been using the PDN-626B for a little over 4 months now and finally feel like I'm able to give a thorough review. First of all I picked this up with a promo code for $149.99. That in it's self was a major selling point. This unit has a ton of features for this price point, which was also another selling point.

I'm not going to go in depth on installation, since in my 2000 F-150 it required a custom install with lots of cutting and fitting. Out of the box there are a couple of different mounting options including brackets or a double-DIN sleeve. Wiring and other connections are straight forward. There is plenty of length to the GPS antenna and external mic to let you mount them pretty much anywhere unless you are trying to mount the antenna above the back window or something.

The interface is much better than others in this category that I've seen and used. Reminiscent of Windows 10 there are large tiles for all the functions and switching can be done via remote, the physical "Mode" button or the touch screen. There is also a physical button to launch the navigation app from any screen (well, almost any. See below.) You can also easily add custom backgrounds. It would be nice to have the ability to change the startup splash screen like you can on some other models. The system is fairly quick and the screen is very responsive. No need to press hard or hunt for the right region to press. I have had one instance where everything was working fine, I made a quick stop at the store and when the unit booted back up the touch screen calibration was about 2 inches off. Turning the unit on and off with the power button didn't help but shutting of the truck cleared it up. It has only done this once though. The screen has 3 brightness settings and the brightest if easy to read in the daytime. The only drawback is there is no dimmer input to automatically dim the screen when your headlights come on. You have to go the main screen, swipe over and hit the dimmer tile. Mildly annoying.

Sound quality is good. There is plenty of built in power to push my cheap pioneer coaxial speakers and the signal is clean. There are several pre-set EQ styles and 2 custom profiles. Each function seems to have an independent volume default, unfortunately there is no way to set the default volume.

The navigation function is pretty robust. Destinations are easy to input and the directions have been spot on every time I've used it. The map data is a bit out of date and I have been unable to download an update from the website given on the navigation loading screen, but not a big deal for me. The map screen will also display the posted speed limit for the road you are traveling, and let you know when you are speeding with a voice prompt or red speed limit sign on screen. This can also be turned off in the navigation options. There are also a plethora of voice profiles and languages for the navigation assistant. I do wish the navigation voice was a little louder as it can be hard to hear some times even turned up.

The radio tuner is decent. I can get weaker signals that my stock radio or the old pioneer cd player that this replaced would not pick up. Plenty of presets as well.

I have not been able to get the MobileLink X2 to work. There is a firmware update available from the Power Acoustik website that I installed but still have not been able to connect either my LG G2 or my wife's Note 4.

DVD play back is straight forward and it will read factory DVD's or burnt DVD's. Same for CD audio.

The Bluetooth functionality is pretty basic. You can stream music of course, and make phone calls. You can also download your contacts. When on a BT call however all other functions of the unit are locked, which means no navigation. It would be nice to still be able to see the map screen if you are on a call, say giving someone directions to a meetup or something.

I mostly play music from a USB stick. The interface is informative, showing the album art (if included on the USB/memory card), file name, ID3 tags for album and artist info and can even display song lyrics if included on the USB, although I have not tried that function. My main complaint with the entire unit is the MP3 playback, especially the shuffle function. This unit LOVES Blake Shelton. I have an 8gb USB stick filled with music, nearly 2000 songs arranged in folders by artist or album. Out of those songs there are exactly 12 Blake Shelton songs, a single album. On my commute to work I can usually listen to 10 to 15 songs. Over 50% of the time it will play one of those 12 songs (yes, I've cataloged it lol.) Sometime 5 songs in a row before it picks a different artist. I've tried rearranging files on the USB and it still seems to prefer Blake. I'm to the point that I'm tired of skipping tracks and will just delete the album. Beyond the Blake infatuation, the shuffle function is still pretty weak. A lot of the same tracks get played over and over, yet there are hundreds that I've still not seen come up.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase and would buy it again if I had to do it over. So to break things down:

PROS:
Lots of features
Easy interface
Great screen
Great price
Good sound quality
Lots of inputs and outputs

CONS:
Quirky MP3 playback
No dimmer input
MobileLink doesn't seem to work.

Power Acoustic PDN-626B for 2009 Corvette

This radio worked really well in vehicles without the steering wheel control. I put this radio in my wife's Chevy Equinox and it is wonderful. Really nice fit and everything works well. However, in my Corvette, my On Star does not work and the steering wheel controls will not work even though I bought all the items, kits, etc, it would not sync. Took it to a Automotive Stereo Shop and they advised this radio was not built for a Corvette. Everything else works. My Am channels are extremely weak. I like the radio but I really want my steering wheel controls to work. I'm thinking of tossing it because I can't return it now. The time frame has run out to return it.

It Is a good radio for the money. It is user friendly and the quality is great. I really recommend it.

Excellent Product for the price!!!

The sound is great, I have JBL GTO 939 speakers rear and the Toyota factory speakers at front. Actually, I did not have to much expectations. I bought because steering controls, gps, and lots of good stuff. However, the sound is excellent. It is the most complete thing for the bucks. It has DVD, CD, bluetooth, GPS, rear camera. It has all you need, all you can have for a more expensive equipment.

It also have a good and friendly consumer support.
