Viper VS5900 Alarm system

The Viper alarm system purchased from Sonic Electronix.com has been wonderful. It has been fully functional and I haven't had a problem with it yet. I bought this system six months ago and it has saved me a lot of money from potential break -ins because my vehicle is armed with a grade A alrarm system.

Viper 5900 Alarm 2 Way Pager

Viper 5900 is an incredible alarm. I added a scanner to it, and nobody comes close to my car. Alarm is very loud, and stays on even when the battery is disconnected. Auto start is the best, even starts from 4 or 5 blocks away with no problem. I would recommend this alarm to anyone serious bout having a good alarm, and lives in a bad neighborhood.

Viper 5900 Responder SST VS5900

I currently have the Viper 5900 Responder SSTVS5900 car alarm installed in my Acura RSX. It works fine. Does a really great job with "auto start". I use auto-start every morning before getting out of bed to get ready for work. This feature is especially useful during the very cold mornings. I even used auto-start while I am on the 5th floor of the building where I work, and the signal goes through without problems.

I chose Viper as the brand name alarm because I have an old car that was also installed with the Viper car alarm, and it too had "auto-start". I have had that alarm for 10 years, and never had a single issue with it. I would go witht he Viper alarm without second thoughts.

Best investment yet.

If you live in a bad area or do not feel comfortable leaving your vehicle in public parking lots, get this alarm. It's very helpful if you live in an apartment and it goes off because you are notified that your alarm is sounding. This alarm has so many features and so many great add-on sensors.

Awesome alarm/starter

My office is 3/8 of a mile from the parking lot. It reaches is easily. Others in the office have to go to a cold car in the winter but not me. I start it before I leave and by the time I get to my car it has melted frost/ snow of the front window. Also has the option to turn on the rear defroster. I also like that it tells me when someone is messing with my car since I can't see it. Very nice. I highly recommend it.

Viper-5900

I'm on the fence with this product. the starting capabilities are pretty good but not at more than a mile away unless you have a clean shot at it! The battery life of the starter is not what you would expect, the life is used up rather fast. I have had the product for about 6 months and have already gone through about 8 or 9 batteries. The scary thing about that is if your battery dies before you disarm your vehicle, and not remember to push the kill button on the alarm your dead in the water. But as for the alarm it's self the product works rather good. These are my two cents. Hope this helps.

Great Value!

I would highly recommend this alarm system! I bought it for a friend as a birthday gift for a Honda Prelude, and it is well worth the price. The installation was simple, and inexpensive... not to mention that it helped lower her insurance rates!

Viper 5900 Remote Starter Car Alarm System

I own a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo, and purchased the Viper 5900 to replace my much older basic Viper model. I'm very pleased with it's upgraded performance. I'm all for the remote starter and option for rolling down the windows. Although you must purchase a bypass switch for this, I do like this convenience. I would definitely be sure to go to a professional installer though. It took three hours to remove the old system and replace it with the new one, and I still had to take it back to have the wiring adjusted, so it's not a do it yourself job. I don't think I'll ever have to purchase another alarm system. THANKS!!!!!!!

Viper 5900 Responder SST VS5900

I love my unit I work in a gas plant in and i work a 12 hour shift, and when it's time to go home it's cold outside. In 20 to 30 minutes I can start my car and have it be warmed up when it's time to go home.

Product works well

Great alarm and remote start. The only 'fault' with the product is the one mile distance. It will offer you a legit 1/2 mile anywhere you go, but not the 1 mile.... however, by the time you can start your car, and walk to it. it will be completely warmed up, or cold.

I purchased this alarm for my car and it worked very well. I haven't even used all the feature of this, but I'm sure I will someday.

Viper 5900

This unit has worked perfect since the date installed over 6 months ago. no false alarms, starts every time. the range of this 2 way system impresses me every time i start it from inside work. This unit was installed in a 08 Toyota FJ cruiser.

Good alarm system.

Pros: Reliable alarm system, seems good so far. The 2 way controller so I can double check its lock without going back to the car. The range is fantastic. Rarely far enough away from the car to be out of range unless you're in a really big shopping centre.

Cons: The controller chews the batteries up like pop corn. Viper still haven't thought about remote start on a manual car (thought a turbo timer can ensure that you leave it in neutral as you leave the car). The inbuilt turbo timer needs to be turned on each time you want to use it...really sucks better off buying a separate one.

I think in stores this alarm is overpriced and not worth the dollars spent. However even with the current exchange rate buying from this website makes it worth the wait and they ship straight to australia! :)

this alarm is almost perfect if Viper made the alarm so the turbo timer is automatic and that you can lock your car while the motor is running it would solve both my cons for the alarm. You would no long be able to coincidentally leave the car in gear as the car would running as you leave the vehicle. Surprised Viper hasn't thought of this yet as no one thinks much of the current turbo timer feature.

This alarm and remote starts works great. I have no specific pro's as it's just all over GREAT

Install took me a while, would imagine it's costly to have done?
I had to get an extra relay for my trunk pop/opener
Battery in remote wears out in less than a month

(I don't know durability, marked a 5 as it seems high quality and this software would not let me leave N/A...)

I would positively recommend this alarm to anyone.it works perfect,the range on the remote is unbelievable,and I can sleep at night knowing my tools in the truck are safe!!

A family friend recommended the product because he was pleased with its' performance. I was equally impressed by the price and the features of the Viper 5900 Responder and figured I'd give it a try. I have not had any problems so far and would recommend it to others.

Works great!

Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference. If you purchase this alarm and remote start system and install all the features you will be blown away. I made the jump from a cheap $50 alarm to this one and i can honestly say I love it. From the quiet chirp, to my blue dome light turning on when i hit the unlock button, to the lights flashing to the remote start feature....its all good. Only con is it that it only comes with one remote, so you have to be extra careful to treat the one you do get with care because it's quite pricey to replace.

viper, nothing comes close!

this is my second viper, i had the 791xv first, and i can still find NO FAULT in the system! LOVE the functionality, LOVE the range!, LOVE LOVE LOVE the options! yah, i 100% back this product... only issue i had was in finding the proper bypass (programming problem) but i consider that my fault... so in conclusion, VIPER RULES!

Great Alarm

DEI makes good alarms. This unit worked great, never had any problems; only thing I found was that the remote eats batteries really fast, probably changed it out every 3 weeks or so. Which is one of the issues they addressed with the 991.
