Hooked it up with an re audio srx 12 and it sounds great very very happy.

decent box

i bought this box for the newest alpine type r.... lets say it sounded decent but not good enough for me, i have had many sound systems and this didnt sound so good with the type r..... if your decide to get a type r id go with a 3.0 cu ft box tuned 32-38hrtz for the best deep loud sound quality

Great Solid Box

This box is built very well. It's perfectly tuned for the Alpine SWR-1243D Type-R that I also got from Sonic Electronix. The SPL of this combo is ridiculous in the trunk of my '09 Civic Si Sedan, and it leaves more than 3/4" of my trunk space left for other junk. Definitely recommend. With a set of banana plugs also ordered, I still only spent less than $225 which includes the price of shipping for these three items. Speaking of which, I ordered in the early hours of Tuesday (switching over from Monday) and I got the these three items delivered to my door by 11AM Wednesday! There's no way you can find a better deal than that! Now all I need for this combo is some serious Dynamat to keep everything from rattling apart.

Best Sub I've Ever Owned

I have 2 of these hooked to a hifonics brutus 1600 watt amp at 1 ohm and they slam. I have had a lot of different subs and by far Rockford has my vote.

Rockford fosgate is back

This is by far rockford fosgate's best middle range sub. Iv bin running 1 on a JL Audio XD600/1 and iv out bass/preformed some of my friends more expensive sub's... not only that but the clarity and sound quality are mind blowing for a sub in this price range. Rockford fosgate have far out done themselves with this redesign. I pound this thing pretty hard in a sealed box and it never gets hot.. the dust cap only gets a little warm but that tells me that the cooling design is excellent and keeps it nice and cool under stress. Iv bin running with this sud for 4 months now and I can't be more happier.

Great Box!

This is a nice box for the price. I normally build my own boxes but I didn't have much extra time and it is too cold out to build one anyways, so I bought this one and I'm sure glad I did. Realistically to buy a sheet of MDF, spray adhesive, bottle of wood glue, nails, and carpet costs about the same as this box and it is already made. Sure it is prefab, but its a very good prefab enclosure. This is real 3/4 inch mdf and the port is tuned pretty low too. I would guess like 34-36 Hz or so. Very solid construction and rounded off port on the inside. Carpet looks great. Terminals are nice too, although they are plastic fasteners, they will hold up just fine. I have a Phoenix Gold rsdc in this box and it slams! I can feel the bass pounding my chest. If you want a nice loud box, this is the box you want. Exceeded my expectations by far!

Not correct box volume

The box is advertised to have 1.8 cubic feet of volume. It's not, the actual volume when taking into the account of the wood thickness and the ports is 1.3 cubic foot. Plus when you add a sub in it that will also take up some volume so you can count on 1.1-1.25 cubic feet with a sub mounted. The 1.8 cubic foot might be true if their talking about total volume of the outside but that is compleatly irrelevant. The only volume that is important is the inside of the box. And yes the difference between 1.8 and 1.3 is a lot and will make a difference

Bela Sub Box 1st 12 box

The box is built great, sturdy. I didn't pay attention to the overall dimensions the box is bigger than your average 12" box.
So if your looking to put this box in your car make sure you pay attention to the dimensions. But if your building a subwoofer for home or small club this box will do the job.

Literally the best bang for your buck.

I am a bass head in progress and I purchased the Rockford Fosgate P3D4 12 inch and damn does it hit lows, broke it in slowly for about 2 weeks and then unleashed the beast and I am very pleased with the performance and cleanliness of bass. I 110% recommend this sub especially at the price, I have this powered temporarily by a Alpine MRP-M500 at 2ohms and it is a great combo. Thanks again Sonic.

This subwoofer box is great and produces a lot of loud bass. However it is huge so make sure you have enough room.

Well I used to just have a single pioneer 12" and I wanted to upgrade stuff. I did a lot of looking around and decided on these, and well, I got them in a perfect spec box for them, and wow do they pound. I have only had them in about 2 weeks, but so far no problems besides they get warm, but its 90 and humid here in MN right now so thats why. I had a Hifonics ZRX1200.2 Running them but that thing over heated so fast, and I fried it. Well anyways I am not running a RF R1200.1D, and it makes my mirror non usable and gives me a back massage! Love these! Highly recommend them!

These subs beat!

I've had Rockford before but had them on a 1000 watts. Now I have them on a hifonics Zeus series 1200.1 at 1 ohm and they get busy!! You can't go wrong with rockford.

Dissapointing Punch Stage 3

Severely disappointing, I bought these in August had them installed in september, and today the second sub stopped working after 2 months of use. They definitely don't make them like they use to .

Monsters

I installed these in my friends truck on the RE audio dts 1500 and that amp really makes these things quake. Box tuned to 34 hz and they get down. Great speaker for the price.

Best Sub I've Owned

This sub hits super hard and clean. I owned 2 JL 12" w3's and my one P3D4 hits just as hard. I have a ported box with a 1200 watt amp and is perfect. I can't be more satisfied with this sub. I was thinking about getting two of them but it would be too much for me e30. For the price I would highly highly recommend for anyone to consider buying these.

Very good sub for the price!

I just purchased this sub. I replace an older model Alpine type R12. There was nothing wrong with the alpine, but I just wanted to switch things up. I searched through all of the higher end subs that Sonic sells, and I kept coming back to this one. For 144 bucks I thought what the heck, I'll give it a try. I've known of Fosgate for a long time, but I didn't know what I was missing out on! I'm running one of these subs in a 1.20 cubic foot sealed box on a 600 W rms pioneer amp. So far from what I can tell, this sub will take a lot more juice then what I'm feeding it. For one 12 on 600 watts, this sub is hitting pretty hard. I'm thinking of putting my old MTX thunder 6500d on it and seeing how much louder it will get! You will not be disappointed with this sub. Trust me. Only gave it one star for durability because I haven't had it long enough to find out, although it seems pretty tough, especially with an aluminum cone. Oh yeah, and fosgate is an AMERICAN company!

Excellent Sound quality

I definitely would recommend these speakers to anyone that wants a deep hard bass feel..Key is Vented/Ported box...I have 2 of these subs in a ported box...with a Planet Audio BB2 1400 watt amp 1 OHM....and they hit hard!! Flexes my car roof! BUMP FOR GOOD PRODUCT!

Rockford all the way

These things BANG! Only my second pair of subs but damn, what a difference. Wired to a Rockford Fosgate P1000-1bd bought off Sonic Electronix for way cheaper than Rockford is asking for it.
Very fast shipping and it was free. Also the cheap prices can't beat it. Saved $200 by buying a set of these on this website vs. Rockford once again. Also bought the wiring from Sonic Electronix for about half the price. Thank you SonicElectronix for saving me a butt load of money and the great service. Will definitely be returning and buying again!

well built

this is a very solid, well built box. the box is sealed well at all seams also and made of good quality mdf. I have a kicker cvr in it and it sounds great. great choice for a single ported enclosure. can\'t go wrong. by the way, i think it has great binding posts. good value, it won\'t disappoint.

Amazing

This sub is the best Rockford sub I have ever heard. Had it paired with a bd500 and it hit 137.4 in an rx7, came in second place.

Nice product

This box is a very nice box especially for the money. Gives a crisp clean sound and doesnt matter what type of music you are listening to.

Great box

I put an Audiobahn Alum12X in it with a 200 watt RMS amp. I had to widen the hole a little to get it to fit. It is nice and loud. I put it in the back of my Honda Element so the port fires under the rear seat toward the driver seat. For the cost it cant be beat. It would have taken me hours to put one together. What a time saver. This is the first box I have ever purchased. I usually just make my own.

Recieved the much needed cone design!

These new versions of the P3's are a WORLD better than there predeccessors. Thanks to Rockford for getting rid of the plastic cones and using the aluminum in its place! No more will you see nasty cracking of the cone on these woofers! Great Job Rockford! They sound phenomenal btw!!

decent sub box

Bought this box for my son and put a sony 12 and visonic amp and it hits pretty hard and very loud but not as tight as the sealed box he had so he loves it because he's a teenager !

Holy

I have 2 of these wired to 1 ohm ran by a Hifonics Brutus 1200.1d amp (1200+ watts RMS). And let me just say, WOW. These subs blew my expectations out of the water!!! The included bass knob with the amp is wired in and these bad boys can only be turned up a quarter of way until they blow my ear drums out. The first song I played was Gas Pedal with the volume high and boss knob turned up slightly past 1/4 of the way, and my rear view mirror sank straight down it literally took my breath away. I have these in a HUGE ported Pro Box too. I HIGHLY HIGHLY Recommend these subs to anyone and everyone, they are insane!

Good Box for Cheap

I needed a box for a C2 Audio Threatcon 4 subwoofer. C2 cuggests a box near 2 cubic feet tuned to 35 hz. This one is tuned to 36 as a I recall so it's pretty close. It's nicely constructed. Wish that it were slanted so that I could put it up against the rear seat of my car and that it were tuned a bit lower. For 35 bucks I couldn't build it for less.

P3

I have only one of these paired up with the new p500x1 in a prefab vented box from sonic electronix Id say its tuned to 34-38 hz.. kills the lows had to get the cut out opened a little more since the p3 is 11.25". This sub is really sturdy and can take a beating veryyyy clean bass and Ive gotten a lot of compliments from it and I only have the gain up half way at most and it flexes my whole car! Upgraded from a previous kicker cvr and also a p1 10 inch of the same model neither can compare this sub is a monster would recommend to anyone this sub will sound good in the right tuned vented/ported box and sealed as well.

Damn good speaker. Easier ordering from Sonic than dealing with the hassle at a shop. Have in my jeep and one 12 sounds like 2 in the ported box I built for it. Perfect hard hitting and nice quik response. Highly recommend for anyone to purchase this speaker.

GREAT QUALITY

I just got these about a week ago and WOW! Got 2 on a Hifonics Brutus 1200.1 @ 1 ohm and they hit hard, loud, yet clean. I know these bad boys can take much more than they're rated. The gain is a little over half and the sound is incredible and they're barely moving! Maybe moving up to a larger amp in the future but I'm more than satisfied for now.

Very durable with a great sound! I get mad attention in my F150 with it only set at 2ohms! Make sure you have a nice sized box though because you don't want to cheat the sound.

Bass!

So I got this sub with the intentions to slam. It is a very good sub and it hits hard im not going to lie. I have it hooked up to a hifonics D.1000 at 2 ohms and its in a sonic ported box. IF you could get a very large ported box for this than it would slam. But overall great buy and I'm looking to get one more in the feature forsure.

Hooked 2 up to 1600 watts and they seem to be holding up very well. Can't have the volume cranked too long-they're loud!

One word, WOW

These subs are just plain great, the quality and sturdiness of these mean subs are what you'd expect from Rockford. I couldn't resist so I turn them up just a little and in about a minute a neighbor came out and said "It's a little loud, can you please turn it down". The funny part is that they were playing at about 5% volume.... I've owned the previous model and these new ones hit harder and cleaner. These subs are worth every single penny.

Bad.

I bought this box a while back and one of the speaker wire terminals is loose causing the connection to be weak.. its been loose since I got it but it just recently started causing problems.

Durable

Not the best subs ive owned in this price range. But i think it was mostly because of the rockford enclosure i bought them in. These are nice subs. But rockfords pre-fab enclosures suck. They have no room in them and they are made for designer looks rather than sound quality and spl. Rockford amps are just ridiculously priced. But they do what they say they can do. Id never buy a rockford amp though. You can get an amp that does the same thing for half the price of rockfords. But these are over all good subs. They can take a beating.

Great Subs

I purchase 2 P3's about two weeks ago and put them in my Tahoe. I have them in a ported box wired down to 1 ohm with a Hifonic 2000watt amp behind them. The low end that they produce is round and accurate to the note. For these to produce that much sound you can't beat the price. I've told my friends that they need to upgrade their subs and get these.

I bought this to go with my orion xtr pro. it makes the deeps better mids louder and highs annoying. Make sure if you buy this product to tighten the connectors a little more. i put my system together but damn near broke one of the connectors when tightening by hand. Other than that i am very pleased with this product. Sonic Electronix never fails me! I recieved it in three days from KY to WI!

1SV12

I bought this box for an Alpine Type R 12. I usually build all my own ported boxes but I decided to save some time and buy this one. The box is built from quality 3/4" MDF, the carpet looks great, and the seams are well caulked. What you really should know when buying this box, it is around 1.5 cubic feet net, and tuned to around 35hz. A little small for most 12's in vented applications, but the 35hz tuning was a pleasant surprise. Most prefab boxes I've seen are tuned >40hz and can't quite hit the low notes. Overall, definitely a great value and a decent design.

Not to bad but could be bigger

Got this box to house a American bass xfl 12". I needed a bigger box but I have a small trunk so my options are limited. my 12" beats in this box just not at full potential. good box for pre-fab

single 12 inch vent ported box

Bought this box a while back and must say for the price its a great box. Ive looked at other higher end box's and they are way over priced. Good construction and seems sturdy. I would recommend this box to anyone who wants a single sub system.

Great Sub a name you can't go wrong with.

Ive had Punch subs in the past, not any top of the line Punch but i know and have heard all lines of Punch subs since they have started. I love this dual voice sub and it sounds very powerful and clean. I have it in a sealed enclosure in my accord which sounds better in that vehicle to me than ported. Sonic has great service and the best prices.

A well made , strong, & nice looking box .Being glued then screwed is the only way for a sub box, to be made , with the vibbrations it must enduere ,this one pass the test .I have recomended them .

Love them

I have two of these in a custom built box 1.88cu ft each sealed and downfiring. Reaper series 6000.1 at 2 ohm. 1/0 run to the back with two powersports AGM batteries by the power input of the amp. Been pounding on them for about a year and they are deep clean and durable. About to add a third.. would never hesitate to buy Fosgate again. In fact I also have RF 6.5" components front and rear. Definitely still doing it right

best sub for the money

Bought 2 of these and hooked them up in a 03 trailblazer on a hifonics brz1700.1 and i bought rockfords 0 gauge amp kit and wired it all down to 1ohm.. Box built to specs, tuned to 35 hertz.. This is the cleanest system ive ever heard.. Hits the lowssss very well.. Best sub for the money.. Sonic came through once again.. Very very happy with my purchase..

Punch p3 subwoofer

I have had this sub for 2 months now and it is great! No problems with running it at 900 watts rms. i beat it up everyday with no complaints. My last pair of sundowns couldnt last as long as this p3.

not the best for a type r

its pretty loud but tends to sound kind of sloppy at some notes. if your new in the audio game i would get it but i wouldnt recommend it. if you want to save a little money id go with a sealed 1.0. on the other hand if you want crazy loudness id go with a building your own ported box or you can find a good prefab tuned at 32-38 hz. but im happy with it but soon to change box.

Beasts

I have two of these in a sealed Ground Shaker box on a RE Audio 500.2 amp at 2 ohms only about 80 watts each and they rattle the trunk of my 2001 Buick Century. Loud even at low power.

Great Subs

I have 2 P3s hooked up to a SSL EV2000.2 wired at 4 ohms and 350 RMS to each sub. With only that much wattage, it still bumps pretty hard. I just bought a RF t1000-1bdcp amp and that puts out up to 1500+ RMS x 1 @ 1 ohm. I cant wait to see what these things will be able to do with doubled the rms. I highly recommend these woofers. Even with a smaller amp, they still bump harddd. Highly recommended. Go with RF for everything.

rockford fosgate p3 12

These are one of the best speakers i have ever owned when it comes to subs. They are strong and powerful subs. I have not hooked them up yet because i only have one now, and have one on the way. But i do know they will pound, because i already have two p2 12's in my 2011 camaro in a sealed box and they hit hard, and i do not even have my bass knob control up. it is on -8. however, when i install these monsters you will hear from me soon. oh by the way i recommend that you buy these subs from Sonic Electronix, they beat the price by far of other sellers. I went to audio midwest and they wanted 247 dollars for one of these. i got two of them for 264 dollars at Sonic Eletronix can you believe that? This is the place to shop for your car audio my friend.

Great value

Ive had this box for a good 6 months and havent had any problems. Very durable and built right. Im running an RE 12 and an RE amp in a tahoe and this thing slams! It would be hard to build one for this price. Only complaint i have is that it stinks like they heat treated the mdf or something. My truck smelled like a forest fire for a good month or two.

run at rms

I've had a pair of these subs and have gone back and fourth from ported to sealed. I'm running a brz1200.1d and loving the bass. I have gone from an Alpine 3522s (90w rms) to a kenwood kac-8205 (~300w rms over rated) to a memphis pr150.2 (200w rms VERY underated) to a rockford punch 601s (600w rms) and i must say now that im running a true 1200w amp and my whole system is cea compliant it is SO much louder. Don't be stingy and you wont regret it.

The works perfect. The box is more durable than i thought it was going to be. Just the right size that i needed. I even put some poly-fil inside to enhance the sound of the subwoofer. Great price for a great box!!

Great so far!

Bought it six months ago to house an Adire Brahma 12" (old-school). I needed 3/4" MDF and around 2sq.ft., ported... Even with shipping it was about half the price of buying a similar box locally, because all my local shops are rip-offs...Sonic can't be beat for price!

So far, everything is great! Only thing that's failing is the window trim on my Pathfinder. X)

One hell of an upgrade

went from sealed .8 cubic foot box to this ported box for more volume. the difference was night and day. i have scaled back the gain on my amp and dropped the sub volume to 0 on my deck, and this box still provides so much volume i'm afraid the back glass will fall out. simply unbelievable. fyi, alpine type x and hifonics bxi1606d, 1100w rms @ 2 ohm.

THE BEST

This box is the best if you want a ported box. It just has everything you need for a well cheap price but the box is just amazing. I put my kicker cvr 12 and that thing bumps, am definitely buying another of the same box for my other kicker.

Okay enclosure

I bought this box because it was a lot bigger than the previous box I was using. I have a Pioneer Premier TSW3001-D2 in this box and it still needs more than 1.8 cu ft to show its true potential. Overall its a good box and it does have good sound quality, but I am not hitting any of those low notes with it that I really want.

I have a RE Audio SXX 10” in it. Sounds great in the box tight and clear. Bo is tuned to 36hz. Great box.

Punch Series P3D4-12

this is one of the best subwoofers i have ever bought!! sonic electronix has the best prices two p3d4-12s any where else, retail stores or any other website will sell them at 250$ or 300$ a piece. this is an amazing subwoofer the quality of bass it produces is one of the clearest harding hitting bass!! the bass is in your face loud! i would highly reccomend these for people looking for power!

Im loving this sub! Right now I have it in a ported box wired down to 2ohms on my old fosgate amp and at 300watts. It's bumpin' in the back of my lincoln. Definitely going to get a bigger amp and another one of these! I always recomnd Rockford Fosgate to people who aren't sure what to get because they sound good and bump hard. By-the-way, this sub is pretty big so you might have to do some work to get it to fit in boxes you get from Sonic.

Rockford P3D4 12's

Pros- Obviously Rockford is name brand and in my opinion towards the top when it comes to speaker quality. Love the buy, sonic elctronix shipped on date as they said and was packaged perfectly. Will definitely buy through them when i upgrade my component speakers.

When I got the box, it was broken at the face plate by the port. It was in the bottom corner. It wasn't too bad so I decided to drop the sub in anyways.
I have an nvx sub in it and it sounds really good. The lows are deep.

Surprisingly Musical Sub

Needed a replacement for the Type R subs I kept blowing and decided to try this one.

The P3 trumps the Type R in terms of musical accuracy, it reproduces subtle bass frequencies that the Type R misses. While the Type R produces a little more extreme bass, I prefer the P3, hands down. It sounds terrifi (and its cheaper to boot)

Have 2 of these hooked up to a hifonics brutus 1200.1D and im still breaking them in but DAMN!!! They are loud already hopefully gunna be buying 2 more soon rockford fosgate for the win!!!! These things are beefy subs too!

P3d412 sub review

I put this sub in my daughters 2003 Mustang and it sounds great.
I paired it with the P 500-1 and I'm running it at a 2 ohm load.
The sub is in a ported box, but it still keeps up with just about any
style of music. This sub is by far way better than most subs in
this price range. If you need a great 600 rms sub I feel you could
buy this and be very satisfied.

I've had Rockford before but had them on a 1000 watts. Now I have them on a hifonics Zeus series 1200.1 at 1 ohm and they get busy!! You can't go wrong with rockford.

Solid box for the price!

I have a extended cab ford ranger with Rockford fosgate t1 door speakers in each door and two in their own boxes behind the seat, along with one Rockford F. P3d4 12" in a huge custom built box with two ports that are over 5 feet, my brother built who is basically a professional. In my town, everybody who has listened to my system has said that it is the best-sounding and hardest-hitting one they have ever heard, even people who have paid thousands for a professional system. I will never buy another brand of speakers or amps. Rockford Fosgate slams, and when I say slams, I mean people can hear me coming from a longggggg way off.

2 RF banginn' in a Ground Shaker Ported Enclosure

Ive had my system build complete for almost 2 months now and i couldnt be happier. This is my second Rockford Fosgate build ive done, and I proudly sponsor their name across my back windshield. I have 2 of the subs in a ported enclosure, and it makes my entire car flex. If you want nice clean punchy sounding bass, Rockford Fosgate's stage 3 subs are the way to go.

Amazing sub for price range

I previously owned the Fosgate P2D4-12 until it was stolen when my car was broken into. It was an awesome sub with great musical detail. At first, I started to just replace it with the same model. But the one thing I wasn't getting with the P2D4-12 was the really low notes. It could reach pretty low, but the lower frequencies require more power to reproduce. I was sending just under 400 watts from a Fosgate power series amp (which was also stolen!)
After contemplating if it was worth an extra $50 to go to the P3D4-12, I decided to do it and also got a Fosgate class d mono amp (Prime R500-1) which came with a birth sheet of 651 watts at 2 ohms.
After a week of breaking it in with some old school Techmaster, I can say that the extra $50 was WELL worth it for the P3 over the P2. I went with a slightly larger box, .9 with some poly fill, and this thing is a BEAST. This single 12 in a sealed box will make your ribcage rattle when you crank it on some heavy bass, and when you dial it in to the right levels it sounds VERY musical and detailed. It hits the very low tones with much more authority than the P2. I would highly recommend!

Powerful and Punchy!!

I bought 2 of these after returning 2 Pioneer Champion Pro series 12's 1000w rms. I wanted more punch from kick drums and bass hits. These totally took care of that! The punch is amazing. They're extremely powerful. I'm feeding them (claimed) 2000w rms from an Autotek Mean Machine 4000.1d. I know the amp is overrated that's why im okay with it. These things are LOUD. Great response and SQ.

However, for me.. the lows aren't all that great. I mean LOW bass like under 45hz. This might be because i have them in a 1.3 cubic foot box even though the recommended is 1.8.

All in all i'm extremely happy with them. Loud, responsive, and great SQ.

Beasts

I have two of these in a huge ported box running off a brz1200.1d and they handle every watt you give them. These are absolute monsters and they are very durable and can take a good beating. I've had these in my truck for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier. Rockford subs all the way.

didnt anticipate

When I first bought these I was "downgrading" from and MTX 9500 15 man that thing hit hard....then I got 2 12s in a huge ported box at 1000W RMS @ 4ohms amp turned down ...these subs bang hard as hell with excellent sound quality believe me I know quality bass had lots of setups and this is by far the most impressive price performance Subwoofer I've heard in a long time.

Great subs

I've owned the p3's in 10s and 12s and they are loud with good sq. I also run rockford amps on all my systems. You can def tell a difference between RF amps and another brand. Most brands overate there wattage and don't come with a real birth sheet of their products like RF, they may be pricey but not ridiculous, i guess u get what u pay for? PS i liked the look of the older models.

FORGET THE RE SUBS

I've used this same sub box for 4 different brands of subwoofers and they all fit perfectly. This is a GREAT prefab box UNLESS you're wanting to use an RE sub. I bought this box with the RE Sxx and the basket is bigger than the opening of the box, so it won't work without modifications. And the only reason to buy a prefab box is not having to go through the hassle of making modifications. So it's a GREAT box, will be the best prefab you'll find for this price, just DON'T buy it if you're wanting to use an RE subwoofer.

Hooked up to a 500 watt Rockford Fosgate prime monoblock in my 2015 Outlander. When I first saw it online I was apprehensive on if I needed more than just 1 12'' but I bought it anyways along with a ported box. A beast

This is a great sub, especially for the price. Originally I bought a Soundstream 12. The Soundstream deep lows great but was super power hungry and missed a lot of the in-between notes--something was just missing. This sub makes it happen. I have it in a sealed enclosure in a new corolla, it pounds. I have the crunch GPA 2000.1 feeding it. The soundstream ate this amp up, the fosgate does well on it. The remote base control knob is huge--some songs need a little more, some a little less.

I had the 15 inch model but i couldnt fit it in my new car because of height restrictions, so i bought this to replace it. The price sonic offers it for is a steal because its twice the price on Rockfords website atleast, and this sub competes with alot of higher priced higher end subs. i have this sub in a ported box with the port facing inward towards the car to reduce rattling and increase my spl and gain in the cabin and i have it hooked to a JL 500, at first i notice that it sounded very deep compared to my last subs i had which were 2 12 jbl gto's, the only thing was it didnt really sound good on rock and metal like the jbl's did but once i broke it in for a few months i can say it surpassed the GTO's on every level and pounded harder than the 2 of them. The SQ you can get out of this sub is Amazing for the price because i listen to everything from rap to oldschool rock and metal. Bands like sublime and korn really sound better with this sub. SPL wise it hits really hard for one 12. Ive tried Jbl, Mtx, And Jl audio ranging from the w1 to the w6v3 and i will say this sub is the best bang for your buck SQ and SPL wise, In a sealed box it has SQ and in a ported box it has great SQL just dont tune your box to rockfords 40 hertz tune it in the low 30's and it will really shine.i had my 15 hooked to 1400 watts on a power series 1000.1 and it never blew even when i tried to take it out so i know you can rely on this sub for reliability because Rockford deosnt play no games when it comes to great Quality.

I was looking to down grade to a single 12” and this box was a perfect purchase for what I needed with still having space in my trunk for other items.

Very nice budget enclosure

Been running an Alpine tye R in a sealed box for a while and have been OK with it. I have tried this 12 in a couple of other prefab vented boxes and sound quality was terrible. One box was similar in size to this but was tuned way too high and was nothing but boom. The other box was much bigger and tuned to around 32 hertz and was a little better but had absolutely no upper bass and an overly pronounced low bass impact.(very uneven response even after much time spent on setting adjustments) With only a day of listening to this particular enclosure, I have to say it's much more musical and really surprised me. It's blending with my components much better and has the advantage over the sealed box of digging into the very low bass with more authority. I'm hesitant at this time to say it's actually sounding "better" than the sealed box but at this price point you can't go wrong here. Construction is good overall and my box had no cosmetic flaws at all. My recommendation is, if you want a relatively smooth sounding vented enclosure that won't break the bank and looks real nice then this one's for you. Really, at this price point it's a steal and I highly recommend.

Exceptional value

I was a bit concerned that due to the spl being rather low that thissub would take enormous amounts of power to come alive. In fact with the gains set to only 20% on my Rockford 1500W RMS amp two of these sub provide more than enough tight, controlled, and smooth bass response in my 40' boat. This is with no top up and very little in the way of reinforcement from walls and ceiling or an enclosed environment like a vehicle.

Build construction seems very good and cosmetically I like the dark appearance the cone and decrotive provide. The only complain I have is the owners manual, which contains an admitted mathimatical mistake in the specification, could prove risky for the custom enclosure maker should they not follow up with Rockfords suplimental correction manual.

All in this is an exceptional subwoofer with considerable flexibility at a reasonable price.

Quality > price, must buy!

I bought this for my nephews new civic. He has a kicker CVX that requires 1.8-2.5 cu ft of airspace. I purchased it through sonixelectronics eBay page for 44 w free shipping. Pairs with the sub and matching 300w kicker amp it produces 42hz of clean clear bass. The beauty of ported boxes is that you can get clean low punchy bass with minimal wattage (assuming you make sure your speaker is wired correctly so the resistance matches what your amp can push efficiently). Look up the wiring diagram for your speaker and amp then match the lowest stable ohm possible. Matching the ohms resistance is more important than just getting the most wattage and your system will last longer and endure less stress. Ok now back to the box. It comes carpeted in either black or dark grey and comes with a nice layer of insulation inside which helps produce the low clear bass and the knock behind it. It also comes with a removable manufacturer tag if you don't like the look. The box has really nice terminals that accept banana plugs which I highly recommend, not only do they look nice they make the connections easier. Overall the quality and value of this box far outweighs the cost. I really couldn't get over how nice it was for the price and when I install systems where only one speaker is involved I am now recommending this box if they do not want or cannot afford a custom box. You won't be disappointed with this box, & for any reason you don't like it send it right back to them.

Good box, was looking for something tuned a little lower.

Well built box for the coin. I did cut out the polyfil just so the port was clear, but left the rest in. It's got a good universal sound and is a lot more pronounced than the sealed box I had before. I have a 12" NVX VCW dual 4 ohm, bridged down to 2 ohm running a Hifonics Brutus 1000.1D
At max I am getting 700 watts RMS, but probably less. The sub is broken in properly and sounds great in the box, but would hit harder with another 300-500 watts RMS. I have my subsonic filter set to about 25HZ. I think the sub plays a little lower than the box is tuned for, not sure, but I think the lows could be better if the box was tuned lower for the particular sub I picked.. NVX tech recommended 2.25 cu. ft. @ 30 HZ. I will be building a new box when I can and tune it closer to 30HZ with a bigger amp. Like I said, this gets me by fine and I have no complaints!

Best Subwoofer for the Price

This is an amazing subwoofer. I have this paired with the 500 watt class D rockford fosgate amp and boy does it push. This amp is so loud that it made me buy a mini amp for my in cabin speakers. You won't find a better subwoofer for the price and Sonic Elextronics always has the best deals.

Decent budget box

I put a 12" Alpine Type R in this box. The carpet near the port needed a little extra glue to properly hold it down but not a huge problem. The R definitely likes it. Gets nice and loud and the box doesn't have any funny rattles or noises. The tuning is pretty good. Would prefer 34-35hz.

Put a 500 watt sub in this box and wow. It sounded so good playing at any volume. The box is sturdy and good quality. The sub did match up with the box. The polyfill inside the box makes a big differance also.If you have a 12 and need this size cu ft air space box this one will not disappoint.

Some of my friends have 18s and some have 2 15s, 4 12s etc and this sub hits harder cleaner and louder. Rockford Fosgate in my opinion is the way to go. This sub rocks!

I recently purchased two Rockford Fosgate P3D4-12" sub woofers. We were looking for a little better subwoofer than the Dual subs we had before. We purchased an inclosed divided box for the subs that was not ported and we are very pleased. These subs are amazing and perform well above what I expected them to even with a Crunch amp that is pushing less 200 OHMs less than what the subs can handle. Used the NVX sound deadening to help with rattle and I can't imagine what a bigger amp would do.

This enclosure is made extremely well. It made my NVX VSW124 sound amazing. It looks nice and will turn any subwoofer install into a professional looking setup. I’d buy this or another Belva enclosure and non enclosed subwoofers over a powered or non powered pre-made setup any time. Buy you sub, an amp that meets your subwoofer’s RMS, and the appropriate Belva enclosure, and be amazed. Amazed at not just the sound, but how much you saved over a pre-made setup.

I got this a enexspensive subwoofer enclosure for a JL AUDIO 12W7 sub, until I can build a custom one, it was the exact air space and recomended tuning, it worked out great, Ijust added a baffle ring to get a perfect fit on the sub mounting hole. The carpet could have used better glue, but at $70, it's a amazing deal. And great quality box, I would buy another anyday.
