Great sounding 6" boat speaker

I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great set of 6" speakers for a great price. RF's usually do not come up in conversations regarding "boat stereo products" but folks need to give them a listen. They also have a great look as well.

Durable

I installed two Rockford speakers on my boat this summer. They are very durable and have held up to the harsh weather. They look really great and the sound is excellent. It is a high quality marine grade speaker. I would recommend it for any boat.

Awesome Speakers

Set them in my bayliner open bow boat and I am rocking the San Diego bay. Had numerous people ask me about my sound system. Great tones and well balanced. I put 4 of these in the front of the boat facing the rear, added two RF subs, and powered it with a RF amp. Unbelievable power and sound. The clarity and base from 100 yds away is phenomenal. Highly recommend these speakers.

Great sounding speakers! They are crisp and clear and have a decent bass response. Running 100 watts to each one crossed over at 85 hz on the low end only because the radar arch vibrates if I lower the crossover point.

I installed these in my boat and they sound great compared to what came from the factory. Crystal clear and good base.

95% of JL Audio Marine speakers

Not a big fan of RF speakers but have to admit these are excellent esp. for the price. They look great and the SQ is actually very good. The M262s have the sound of separates with 12db external crossovers but everything is integrated. The tweeter mounts above the woofer not thru it so bass is better and I'd like to think makes the unit more reliable over time.

Installation was not easy for me as the original speakers were 5" cutouts and these are 5 1/8" so I had to route out my steel cans which was a pain but worth it. 4 of these look great on my tower and plan on installing 4 more in the boat for a total of 8. Running ~85w to each speaker currently and that seems like enough but i think they can take more with a higher xover point. The tweets are crisp but not harsh like in some metal domes. No ear fatigue either.

The only negative i have is the mounting screws that come with the speaker. They are hex screws which is fine but they are awfully cheap feeling to me. Nothing broke but because these are being mounted into steel in some applications be careful not to torque the screws down too much. They will break.

Great bang for the buck speaker. Consider saving some $$$ and go with these over JL Audio or upgrade to these over your generic Sony or Clarion marine speakers and get a better SQ and more attractive look too.

I have used these for around 6 months, so far they sound great. I had to install the 6 1/2 because of space, they don't have the base of the 8's if you do have room get the 8's,
