It's exactly what you need for your car amp installation. I bought this kit with Kenwood KAC-1502S amp for 75 bucks. Good deal from Sonic Electronix.

Great kit for the cost

Very nice kit for $18.
Wire seems adequately thick. Good quality fuse (not AGU) and fuse holder. RCA's feel durable. Decent assortment of accessories. All together a solid budget kit IMO.

Don't know what the other guy is talking about.

This kit was awesome and included with my package that I bought. In comparison to others for the same price, there is simply not a comparison and the other review is just wrong on so many levels I felt compelled to write this.

The reality is there are a lot of real shoddy amp kits and wire as a whole being used in car audio in terms of cheap amp kits that have over-insulating wires and fake gauge ratings, huge amounts of aluminum, lousy RCA cables, fuse holders and other accessories. BUT and a BIG BUT, this kit excels in those areas where others fall flat on their face. I have bought a few inexpensive 8 gauge kits in my day and XScorpion, Raptor, Install Bay and others haven't even given me the 8 gauge of wire that I paid for, and in some cases gave me wire that heated up to a dangerous level due to the actual make up of the wire.

I also literally laughed when I see that the other reviewer was intending to use spade terminals to connect his amp power and ground wire... It is for the SPEAKER wire knucklehead :-). I am an installer and the smaller accessories work just fine when you use them correctly. Most amps will still work with them when used with the speaker wire. Of course one can be used for the remote wire connection to the amp and the other end with the butt connector being used to connect to the stereo. The funny thing is, if you do not need them, who cares? It is like ordering this kit for a compact car or single cab pickup. You will not use all of the power wire for these applications, so do you complain that the manufacturer gave you extra wire? That just made me laugh.

Now, onto the other accessories. The AFS fuse and holder that are included are so far superior to others in this price range and the amount of copper (albeit CCA) is much better than others in the price range. Lastly, the RCAs included are awesome for the price. I cannot find ANYTHING to complain about here for $21.99.

All in all, you will not get a better value for the money.

Good product for the price

Good wiring package, good quality fuse holder and wires, I would like more connectors on it and maybe some tube for the power wire, but overall is a good kit.

Good Purchase

I used this kit to install a 2 channel Boss amp. The quality of the pieces in this kit is five stars, but I'm giving it 4 because it is my belief that to do a clean install you need (4) 8 gauge terminals (one at the batt, one at the amp, one at ground, one at the amp), not just two. I had to spend an extra six bucks at Orchard for the extra terminals, but since the cost of the kit here at Sonic was only $20 at the time, it was still a good deal.

Good kit

Good kit for basic setups. Using it right now in my mothers system powering a simple 12. Could handle more if needed.

Worked very well for the money, great value for my system! Only thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars across the board is the design of the fuse holder and how you have to change/connect the fuse, minimal complaint.

full mids and highs

These three ways are solid, especially for the price. Mids and highs are perfect, not too pingy like mbquarts, but still full. I have yet to get distortion at high volumes so I feel they would do well in a component/amped set up. Cant comment on there low end response but specs say they can go pretty low. Packaging was protective and they came with plenty of speaker wire and mounting brackets. Overall awesome for any set up. I would recommend to anyone looking for full range door speakers.

This wiring kit is very good quality. Although this was my first subwoofer install, I consider myself an expert when it come any kind of stereo hookup. This kit comes with everything you will need for a professional install. I installed a MTX self contained in the rear of my 1999 Explorer Sport. This kit made eazy.

Great Value

These were replacement speakers for a 1997 Chrysler Sebring LXi. Great speakers for a Great price. One would be a fool to not, at least, give these people (Sonic Electronix) a look.

Exactly what you need

Comes with everything you need, literally. Ring terminals are good quality, insulation is very good quality on the wires, fuse is good quality, currently connected 2x 600 watt Pioneer 6x9 speakers to a 450 watt amp (250RMS) with this wiring kit. Plenty of length to get from the battery to the back of my car. For 21$ this is a steal! Does its job, does it well. Highly recommend this, you won't beat this price for everything you get.

get's the job done

This amp wiring kit did the job. Fortunately there was just enough wire to make it from the trunk to the battery in our honda civic sedan. A larger vehicle may have been a problem. The kit came with almost everything I need to install a self powered subwoofer/ amp.

The wire is fine, the RCA cables are fine, but the terminals they give you are worthless, not enough of the 8GA size for both ends of the wire, and there are a bunch of small ones that werent even needed.

Excellent product for the price

I'm not running a sub or crazy rms wattage. This kit is more than adequate for my set up. 60 watt rms fronts and 80 watt rms rear speakers. The amp is 75watt rms X4. I would definitely buy this kit again for any similar set up. Plenty of length for all wires except the ground. If you are mounting the amp to the back of your rear seat and it folds down, make sure the ground is connected as close as possible the seat. Other wise the wire will prevent the seat from going all the way down. Wasn't paying attention to this. Bent the ground terminal on the amp when I folded the seat down and it hung up on the ground wire.

The brand name for the price sold it for me!

I have worked with Rockford Fosgate equipment before. It is really top notch stuff. When I saw that these speakers were listed for the price, I couldn't stop myself from buying them. The Rockford equipment I've worked with before has amazing sound, great quality, very durable, and has great range. These speakers are no different. They have a range that's a bit on the high side compared to my stock speakers. This actually worked out for me because my stock speakers had a lower range which made the bass a bit overzealous. Couldn't have bought a better set of speakers.

Clear mids and highs

after a couple of months waiting to get a new set of speakers to go in the rear doors of my truck these Rockford fosgate R1s match the set up front and fill the cab with rich clear highs and mids but not the low end part but that's what subwoofers are for

This wiring kit was included for free with my Kenwood KAC-1502S amp that I use bridged to drive my Pioneer TS-SWX251 sub. It is a decent kit. The speaker/power wires are copper-coated aluminum which is just so-so. But it does include everything I needed to wire up my amp (fuse kit, zip ties, wire terminals, etc) and it works totally fine and I doubt I'll ever have a problem with it. So while theorhetically the wires could be higher quality, practically speaking I doubt I could ever tell.

Great wires a pain to cut

The length of all the wires was perfect for my VW gti to set up an amp. However they are a pain to cute and strip. The rubber coating is very stretchy. But they work great. I do recommend these for the price. The connectors for the ground and power wire are crap. They do not like to stay though. Once you get it then they are good.

Good enough

Overall, this is a decent enough kit for an amp install. Fairly run-of-the-mill kit - my main gripe is that some of the prong connectors are incorrectly sized (amp connection for ground and power wire), but all other connectors are good. Zip-ties are garbage, but that's pretty much expected as well.

Pretty basic kit, I would recommend it but based on my application I needed some larger capacity connectors than what were provided.

This kit seemed to me to be a good value kit. I felt that the connectors and one of the cables was of a cheaper grade than what I would prefer. But I feel that it was priced accordingly. The product met my needs, except for me using a better quality crimp-on connectors.

wonderful speakers

I installed them in a 2001 Honda CR-V. Had to do a little work to install them but worth it. These speakers sounds great with a stock head unit in this car. I put them front and rear of this car and would do it again. The price on the speakers are a great value.

Gotta Dynamat my doors now

These puppies aren't that bad, Downloaded a signal generator for my android phone and at 76 Hz these puppies vibrate a few things on my door and they provide some nice midbass and punch.

Great Stuff

I was impressed as soon as i opened the package. The speakers looked good online, but you never know until you start messing around with them. They are a nicely weighted not too heavy n not to light. The polypropylene cones have a cool look to them. They were easy to install, dramatically increasing the bass and overall sound quality to my factory head unit (and its a great way to stay in shape). I love Rockford products because they make quality products. These went into a 2000 Dodge Dakota.

Rockford R165X3'S!!!!!

I would highly recommend these speakers for anyone who is on a budget and wants some serious sound. I put these in a customers truck and all I could say was wow. Clarity was beyond amazing with or without the amp. In my opinion they sound better then the Boston acoustic's I have in my personal truck. I have always been a huge fan of Rockford Fosgate equipment and have never had a problem with any of the items I've purchased in the past. Keep up the great work Team Rockford!!! great 6x9's

I recommend these product. I replaced my factory installed speakers in my Xterra and it made a huge difference. I also installed a stereo with 50 amps per channel and it really sounds good.

Not bad

These speakers are not what I has hoping for. They deliever decent bass for what they are but high freq isnt anything special. Whenever I reach a higher volume they start to distort.

Well first thing these are the best speakers to run off your deck!!! They are louder and crisper and if installed right they give excellent bass!!! I have a 2002 Subaru Legacy GT Limited and I needed to to some custom fitting due to the bracket was too small for the speaker to sit flush... Used a dremel to make the speaker for and about an hour later and a week to allow the break in period to settle, I was blown away!!! Buy these

Decent kit

This is a decent kit for a budget stereo system. Only one issue though, I was hooking this up in a Ford expedition and wires were too short to put the amp were I wanted it. Will pay more attention to wire length next time.

Darn Good Speakers

I've always been curious about whats the difference with Rockford Fosgates different series. Prime, Punch and Power. Truth is their Power output and when it comes down to what ever power you're running there's certain materials to keep your system clean. Rockford does that with these hands down and for the person wanting clarity and not wanting to buy an amp these do the trick. Of course if you want the little extra bang in your system Rockford gives you the extra watts to do so. Overall GREAT PRODUCT and PRICE these won't let you down trust the Brand they're Grear.

r165x3 vs. r165

Both are good value for the money. I have these in my daughters Corolla and the 2way in my car. Both have low level rms wattage so an after market head unit will make either sound quite nice, but there is a difference the 2nd tweeter makes. I think it is worth the extra coin for the better sound quality you get. I would get the Punch or Power series if you plan to amplify and want deeper bass out of the 6.5" size speakers.

This wiring kit is good enough for the basics if you don't want to spend more money or chase around assembling the wires you need for a basic system hookup.

Well Built, As Advertised

This kit was included with a MTX package that I ordered. It was as described and is a well made wiring kit. Installation was quite easy and delivers adequate power to my system with proper grounding.

My only complain, I drive a 1997 Buick Park Avenue, and the 17' of cable for the power line wasn't nearly long enough for my installation. As my amplifier is currently mounted in my trunk due to limited options for locating it elsewhere, I had to go to a local electronics store and purchase another length of 8ga wire, an in line fuse block to splice the connection, as well as an additional fuse to ensure the line is properly protected.

For those of you will small cars, or who chose to mount the amplifier somewhere in the cab of the vehicle, this will be more than adequate. For those with larger cars, or luxury vehicles who are mounting their amplifier on the box or in their trunk, be advised you will need more power cable.

Loud and Clear

For the price point, I don't see how you can get much better. Very high quality out of the box, and sound amazing. Beware, though, because the 6.5" is really a 6.75". I had to modify my adapters on the front doors to get them to work, but it was worth it. But in the quarter panel, they just went right into the stock location. I have 2 pairs powered by a Rockford Fosgate R250x4 and these things get loud! It actually gets to a point to where you can't talk in my car or hear anything around the car! Its loud enough for daily driving, thats for sure.

I bought a bundle that included these cables (1kw) along with an amp (1.5kw) and 2 subs (1.3kw). Didn't make sense to include these cables, since their recommended throughput is much lower than the other components, so I never used them. They look nice, though.

Installed in 2008 Jeep JKU

I bought these to try Rockford Fosgate products. Right out of the box, you can tell these are much better than stock. The sound is crisp and the bass is adequate. When installing in my Jeep JKU sound bar and front boxes, I had to buy additional brackets (Metra 82-6601) for these to fit. THESE WILL NOT FIT DIRECTLY TO THE SOUND BAR OR FRONT SPEAKER BOXES. These are currently just powered by the head unit, not an amp. May see better gains using an amp to power these. I also used some poly fill in the sound bar and speaker boxes to improve quality (recommend doing). Overall, I am impressed with this product from Rockford Fosgate.

Unexpected !!

Bought these speaker as a cheap alternative to the blown speakers in my project car.
At first play, I was both delighted and dissappointed. Delighted because the speakers exceeded my expectations. Dissappointed because now i need to buy a set for my other car =)

Kit has what it says. Most of the wires are of good quality, but the remote wire could have been a tad thicker. It broke every time I tried to attach it to anything. I ended up using some leftover speaker wire to complete the job. Overall though, you can't beat the value.

Good alone, great with a subwoofer

These speakers are pretty great for the price. They handle mids and highs well, but are a bit lacking on the lows. They compliment a nice sub woofer setup perfectly. I can crank them pretty high without distortion.

Greater speakers!

I replaced all 4 stock door speakers with these. I really like the way they sound. I have a Subaru Outback and a kenwood 10 inch sub. These speakers really make a difference. Very happy with the purchase.

Excellent speakers

I installed them in a 95 Nissan pickup doors. They are slightly too large to fit completely in the speaker holes in the door but by drilling new screw holes and balancing the screw tension they work, look good and sound good.

2nd Kit I have Purchased, Still Can't Find a Better Deal

I had a 500 Watt amp and sub installed in my old car, and sold it with most of the wiring in it for the new owner.
I installed a new 500 watt amp in my new car with a new sub, and bought this same wiring kit as I still could not find a better deal anywhere else.
It's a simple kit, has everything you need, and makes installation of an amp/sub a breeze. Tonnes of wire length, I still have lots leftover thanks to a trunk-mounted battery. My previous car had a battery in the hood, and this kit still have plenty of length.
The RCA's are very nice, and all insulation is great quality especially for the power/ground. Ring terminals are easy to crimp, and were the perfect size for my battery terminals/main grounding junction.

Though this is on the lower end of the RF line, these speakers will not disappoint, especially in the full range acoustics (hearing unique classical, 80’s music, etc) that are utilized by some artists. Highly recommend! Being used with an Alpine head unit, and MRV-F300 4 channel amp.

Great coaxial speaker

These coaxial 6.5's are hard to beat not to mention that the price is great for a well known brand. They are loud and have great sound too. Scion xB 2004 dash speakers

I reclaced my factory dash speakers with these. They are almost twice the size of the old ones. They have easy to remove tabs for mounting and I had to remove two of them. They fit great and we're super easy to install. Took less then 1/2 hour to install them. Should have done this along time ago way better sound. Really brought my sound to the next level. Way better than stock.

R165X3 speakers ROCK(ford) Fosgate!!!!

Bought 2 sets of these last US Thanksgiving and finally got around to installing them into my 2010 SX4 couple weeks ago.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE over the regular speakers my car came with. The R165's look and sound so much better. I actually have some bass now whereas before I had to crank up the low frequencies on the eq to hear some.....................and I get way better high end with those separate mids and tweeters that the stock speakers didn't have.

I used these speakers (I bought 2 sets) to replace the stock speakers in my 2015 Civic. I did not use an amp, I ran these directly off the stock head unit which has an output of 160W.
I have subs that have the audio signal supplied from a line out converter off the 2 rear speakers.
I have the bass level turned 4 steps down on the head unit so these speakers don't stress too much on the lows and they are crystal clear with no distortion even when the volume is high.

I actually have the volume at a lower level than with the stock speakers because these are louder.

The built in crossover for the tweeter brings out the highs in a way that I've not heard before in a vehicle sound system.

Good Speakers

I put these in a 1992 f150, front doors. They say they will fit in the 5+ inch opening even though these are 6 1/2inch. They will fit in okay but don't sit flush in the door. I had to drill new mounting holes and use some spacers between the door and the speaker so as not to distort the speaker frame when tightening it down. Good sound for the money. I got them in a combo deal with an Amp and wiring kit. Would probably get them again, but time will tell. Only had these installed for about a month.

I bought tweeters to get a little higher but ended up not needing them cuz the tweeter on the speaker is perfect. I don't want any bass coming from my door speakers so I set them up strictly for mid-range and with my bass knob turned off the sound still sounds amazing. Rockford Fosgate Prime R165X3

I put two pairs of the speakers in my 2015 Nissan Murano S. For those of the who have the murano without the speaker package, the speakers are more than lackluster. Once you turn up the volume, the highs distort like crazy and there is absolutely ZERO range to them. THAT IS UNTIL NOW.

I got these because I didn't want to use an amp and really spend more than 50 dollars a pair. These thing are awesome. Super crisp on the high ends with the music blaring and they have an acceptable amount of punch to them to give them range. they are not sub-woofers so dont expect rattle your bolts loose with bass but they certainly provide a kick, listening to metal, prog, indy, and Hiphop these have proved to be such a great all around speaker. with spending around 100 dollars on the two sets, speaker brackets and wiring harness, this was a fantastic investment. plus I didnt have to install an amp which is a pain!

I had these speakers installed in my old 2000 civic, these sounded very well for as cheap as they are, good midrange and clear high range. The bass from the woofer was enough but not overly powerful. Overall they are great sounding. My only complaint and thus why it's a four star review is because I actually had to make them fit as the outer pre drilled holes did not line up with the factory location holes in my car. once I made them fit it was nothing but great sounding audio. I would reccomend these still, because the price you pay is unbeatable for the quality.

Shame on You ! The Rockford Fosgate Prime R165X3 speakers do not fit my 2013 Ford Fusion

I specifically purchased the Rockford Fosgate Prime R165X3 speakers because your site listed them as fitting a 2013 Ford Fusion: but in reality they do not. If the only criteria for "fitting" my 2013 Fusion is the fact that they are 6.5 inch speakers then I guess you can put them in that category. These speakers are too deep to directly replace the OEM speakers. They hit a door bracket that sits behind the speaker opening. Fortunately, I watched a U-Tube video that recommended using part of the old speaker as a spacer/adaptor. I was able to remove the insides of the OEM speaker and mount the new speaker to the remaining outside speaker framework. This gave the new speaker enough space so it did not hit the door bracket. This "work-around" allowed me to install the new speakers but I am disappointed that the speakers did not have a spacer/adaptor provided to allow them to truly fit my 2013 Ford Fusion. I suggest you remove these speakers from the "fitting a Ford Fusion" category until you provide an appropriate adaptor.

Powerful Amp for the size

I bought this amp to drive my JBL 6x9 on the rear shelf. The Amp is really powerful and although the nominal power of the speakers are about 20watts RMS more than the amp,The amp drives them with ease and actually I cannot push it nowhere near its capability, The whole interior of my car rattles to a point that I feel like my rear deck cover and roof liner would pop off. Anyways I didn't buy my setup for loud music, I just wanted crystal clear sound stage out of it and I got it! :)

The only problem that I had which I'm not sure why it happened and it might be a coincidence was that my battery died(being more than 3 yrs old) and went bad after about 10 days after I installed the amp. After I changed the battery I don't have any problems with my battery, but I should mention that after changing my battery, I manually turn off my head-unit before turning off the ignition in my car. It could be also my head unit's fault to leak out power while ignition is off, I haven't got to figure it out yet.

Installed easily and fit well in my 2010 Golf MK6 Coupe doors with Metra plastic spacer rings. Overall good sound...both bass and treble levels. Crisp and heavy enough bass, better than originals, but of course not high end sound. Met expectations for this price point. Not worth spending more unless you have a $1000 head unit.

Pretty Good OE Replacements

I got these mainly because their power rating was close to the RMS rating of the head unit. These replaced the OE door speakers in my daughter's 2015 Optima. I'm feeding them with a Kenwood head unit and once you get the equalizer and crossover fine tuned, these really come to life with just the 50x4 head unit power. Good, clean highs and mids from these. Love this little amp

I purchased this amp to run my rear Alpine SPR-60 speakers and I couldn't wish for better sound or power from an amp this size and this cheap. I have the gain turned up a quarter of the way up and it plays my Alpines LOUD and CLEAR and matches my NVX 800.4 for my front component perfectly. I can turn my Kenwood Excelon receiver up to mid 30's and there is no distortion at all. I'm assuming this amp is underrated by a decent amount given the sound quality it displays. It's a great size which is one reason I purchased it. It fits under my seat next to my NVX amp very well. If you need a small amp to run door speakers then buy this one. Also, if it goes into protection mode often it could be because your positive and neg speaker wires are touching. Even one strand of wire will cause the amp to go into protection which is a good thing if you ask me. Love the JBL.

Great amp for my pickup

I needed a new head unit and I decided at the time to buy a power amp (for the first time) and new speakers. I got the GX-A602 from Sonic, and I bought another one to use in our RV. I also got my JBL speakers (one set, the 4x6 GTO model) and a set of GX602s from another vendor. I hope to grab up the GTO 629s for another installation.

The amp was my first installation and the most difficult thing I encountered was what to do with the remote turn-on wire, and what to connect it to. I will never understand the tech writer's penchant for using 200 words when 50 or fewer (in this case, MANY fewer) will do. How about, "connect the remote control wire to the blue/white wire coming off the back of the head unit."?

All complaining aside, this is a KILLER little amp. I can turn the head unit to as loud as I can stand it and the sound is crystal clear. John Entwistle from L@L never sounded so good. Big band jazz sounds great, blues, country, rock and roll, classical (Stravinsky's "Firebird Suite") sound amazing. Like I was in the middle of the orchestra pit.

The installation of the amp was a bit of a struggle because I'd never done it before and some of it was daunting. I'd never done the power wire off the battery, never mounted anything like that, it was all first experience installing an amp. I ran my speakers in parallel, but instead of going to one speaker and then heading on to the next, I used a pair of wires for each speaker, wired in parallel coming straight off the speaker terminals.
But oh man, that JBL sound...nothing better. NOTHING. Buy this amp. You won't be sorry.

I recently purchased a set of JBL 6.5” component speakers for my Honda CRV. I just had them running off my Pioneer head unit and I thought they sounded really good...until I installed this little amp! It’s incredible the difference it made in clarity and distortion free, loud volume. It’s a great little amp to run a set of components and a perfect match for my JBL GTO629s. It’s also a nice looking unit and the small size makes it easy to mount anywhere. In my opinion this is a great choice if you are looking to add some power to your component or coaxial speakers and not break the bank. I did quite a bit of research on amps and you just can’t do any better than this for under $60!

I purchased this amplifier to power a single 10 inch JBL sub that is in a ported tube. I used this setup to replace a defective factory sub in my BMW. It’s compact size mounded nicely I my trunk and has plenty of power to drive my single 10 with no problem. I’m Running it bridged at 4 ohms and it does not run hot nor have I had any issues. This amp is a great bang for the buck.
