I bought these as a replacement for my blown stock speakers. I've had them about 6 months and sound quality is really starting to diminish. The mids sounded bad from day one, in fact have my stereo set to -4 bass just so they don't get that distortion. Ok to replace blown factory's, but by no means an upgrade.

I had the R1682 speakers as rear speakers for the last few years of the vehicle and got these for the front. I am extremely pleased with these. Once the speakers have broken in, the lows are noticeable and these crave for more power. Mids and Hi's are exceptional. These stand out from the Pioneers I had in the past.

Don't go without it

This really helps with overall sound quality, especially mid-bass in my experience. NVX offers excellent quality at better prices are than other popular sound deadening brands.

Great stock replacement speaker. Great sound and can get loud as heck on the head unit. Not recommended for those looking to boom. I have an RF P3D412 for that so I set my head units bass to 0 to prevent distortion at high volume. I have not amplified these speakers but do plan to do so. Rated a 4 on looks and design because unfortunately it doesn't come with a grill on this size but does on the 6x9 version which would have been useful because 2 days after I installed it my cousin kicked it in his sleep and scratched the cone pretty badly .. :(

Good but not great.

These speakers are what I was looking for (very loud and clear) but they lack some of the bass which is okay for my situation since the sub I ordered will compensate. I have them wired to a Boss head-unit that gives them 40 watts a piece and they sound very nice. Sometimes I get some odd sounds when it plays high notes but that may just be because its not the highest quality of music. Overall I would recommend these to someone that has a subwoofer to compensate for the bass they lack.

Sounds GREAT

Pushing 50 Watts RMS to these. They are Crystal clear all the way to Max volume. I thought they would have been louder honestly but they are more than loud enough. I have them on 90Hz high pass filter could with a subwoofer so I can't comment on their ability to play bass but they sound great in all the frequencies I throw at them. Little brother says the music sounds like a keyboard player is on the truck with him.
