nice lil speakers

Used these in a custom install in a convertible. Decent midbass and crisp highs. Didn't take too much power either.

I bought these to replace busted factory speakers...They sound good...I probably have to many watts going to them but they haven't busted yet.

Now I did blow the 6x9's RF's but these 6 1/2s are doing just fine loud-n-clear...

pros: they are cheap and quality. (RF's)

con: foam surround not as duraible as rubber

Good speakers for the price

Not bad speakers but my old Alpines that I had in my Jeep Wrangler sounded better. I replaced the stock door speakers in my Scion Tc with these because they were inexpensive. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them. On a side note, get the RF tweeters if you need some. They are amazing. I got a pair for some more treble and they are great.

For the price, these are very good value. Very clear mid range and good highs. The bass is good for a speaker this size.

Great Speakers!

I had these speakers for roughly 2 months and they still scream! These are some of the best speakers I have ever owned. Even without them being Amped, they scream. I put them on my Rockford Fosgate R-150.2 which powers my subs for a few months, and they sound so MUCH Clearer! Will never buy another brand again.

Ok, but not spectacular.

Definitely the "budget" line for RF. Not much bass and way too much treble. I ended up replacing them with 2-way Polk's instead. Spend a little bit more and get better quality speakers.

Unsure

I bought these along with a pair of MB Quarts... They seemed like the best bang for the buck replacement speakers for my girls 94 civic. Once I got the old ones out and was ready to install these. I realized both the Rockfords and MBs were too deep to fit in the stock locations and the speaker frames were even too large to easily slide into these same locations. So in the end my cheapest option was to trade them at the flea-market for some shallow mount Pioneers that fit just right with no modification but sound like a**!

All in all I wish I had read the size specs on these speakers and measured twice before ordering them without mounting rings or something. They would have really screamed nicely off my 4-chan... But whatevs, its my girls car and she cant tell the difference in sound either way :/

Excellent value

These speakers are inexpensive yet built very nicely. They produce great mids and highs which is what they should be used for. Not a ton of bass, but that isn't there purpose anyways. They sound great, just be aware that these are really 6 3/4 inch speakers and not 6 1/2 inchers. This may make them not fit into you're factory openings. I had to modify mine a bit to make them fit, kind of a pain, but it was worth it for the sound!

Rockford Fosgate R1653

I bought these 6 months ago and put them in boxes in my convertible along with a Soney 17 watt RMS.

They go louder than I do with no appreciable distortion.

I can hear the vocals now

I originally had stock two way speakers. once I received these new ones and installed them I could hear everything a lot better. Installing them was pretty fun though because it wasn't really the right size but a little modification can fix that. Overall a very nice buy.

Clean, Clear sound at a great price

Clean clear sound... these speakers have a low RMS and Peak power need which makes them play well wired directly to a decent deck..I love Fosgate always a good value for great performance.. I build custom systems and use Fosgate quite a bit.

great speakers

Brought 4 of these speakers to put in my SUV, and I have to tell you, they rock. I could not believe the sound and power (bass) that comes out of these speakers. I have recommended to all my friends, it makes my ride a lot more enjoyable. One more thing, you cannot beat the price.

Good speakers

I bought these to replace my blown factory speaker's. They sound really good on my kenwood kdc-x596 reciever. Bass is what you would expect from a 6 1/2 speaker. Only complaint I have is the tweeter is to high it should have been a half inch lower it hit's my door panel.

Krisp highs and no distortion

I only have these runnin off my cd player so I know they could probably use a couple more watts but they sound pretty damn good to me as is and these arn't my first aftermarket speakers. Gotta luv Rockford! Can't go wrong for the price.

great value for the money

Installed these in my 2001 Impala to replace the blown factory speakers. I have a HD Kenwood HD552u head unit pushing 22watts (rms) driving them. The tweets on these scream and the woofer can hold decent bass. Great replacement speaker to just run off of the head unit.

Good value for the sound

Rockford is a good brand, and these speakers are good for the money. They are clear, good mids, but don't expect bass with 50$ door speakers. The $50 range you can buy a lot of speakers, but with these you get Rockford reliably. I would recommend if your just getting rid of crappy factory speakers!!

Wow!

Moving from stock speakers on a 2008 Silverado to these is a stunning difference. The sound quality is there, the definition is there, and the classic Rockford Fosgate quality is there! Wired these speakers to an Alpine deck @18W RMS to each (no amp) and they are LOUD. I can turn them up less than halfway and it starts to hurt my ears. I can go up to 3/4 volume with no distortion. this is an awesome speaker

I would recommend this product because rockford fosgate are awesome speakers. They have everything you need with them and they are loud. Also if you check out the subwoofers they are awesoem never had any trouble with rockford on any speaker.

SONIC ROCKS....

I have bought several items from Sonic in the past, and if you are truly looking for a great deal and great customer service, look no further. I installed these in my 2001 Chevy Tahoe with my factory deck, and WOW, what a difference, granted, we all would like more bass, but for just 6.5" door speakers these things are the bee's knees. Thanks Sonic for once again exceeding my expectations.

Highly impressed

I Bought these speakers for the sole purpose of replacing my blown stock speakers in my truck, until I saved enough to buy "good" speakers. I had fairly new expectations for them, being the cheapest 6.5" speaker Rockford Produces... but after installing them i was blown away by there quality. Much better bass response, and the mids and highs are more detailed. For the money i couldn't be happier. excellent buy, great bang for buck.

Good Speakers

Easy way to upgrade your speakers. Improve sound quality without using much power. Overall the speakers perform well and I have had no problems installing them.

Decent

Sound very good. Downside is they are not amazingly efficient. Very very clear sound but if you are running them off your deck, there are other speakers that will be louder with the same amount of power. Good set of speakers if you have a moderate system with maybe a single sub. 4 of these couldn't keep up with 2 underpowered 12" L7s in a small sealed box. my 4" Polk Audio DB speakers are much louder and clearer(no bass though).

Overall very good speakers if you have no subs or small subs and running off the deck. Though I think they would respond well to being amp'd.

killer speakers

I only have one complaint I had to replace my other speakers as well because the sound and clarity of these speakers far surpassed what my pioneers were capable of after about six (6) month they still sound as great as when i first installed them. Many thanx for offering a great product at an even better price.

Great speakers for the price

I bought two pairs of these to replace the factory speakers in my wife's car. They are just powered by a JVC head unit, but they sound great for the price. If you are looking for a low-cost replacement for factory speakers with pretty good sound quality, these are the speakers for you.

Great Sound

These speakers sound great and were a great bargain. I installed them in a 2005 Chevy Cobalt (factory head unit) and they fit perfectly. They replaced the busted, worn out factories.

great value, better performance

great replacement speakers! Put them in the doors of my 97 gmc pickup, they were reasonably priced, and are a huge improvement over stock speakers! I'm very happy with these.

I needed round speakers for the door and these were rated highly by on-line reviewers. I like the full metal grille for protection in the door too. They sound super.

Nice sound, no lows

This is a great sounding speaker, but it has no low end at all. I have these and a sub in my car and it sounds fantastic. I can crank this up really loud and have no distortion.

good speakers

I have 4 6-1/2" RF's and a 10" sub running off of a 5 channel 1000 watt Crunch amp in sealed boxes in a boom box that I built for my daughters softball team and the combo sounds great even in open air settings and will handle the volume easily. Nice balanced sound.

These things sound awesome with a good deck and power. I had a cheaper deck hooked up to them and I wasnt real impressed. I put a good deck in, and I have 40 watts rms going to both of them through an amp and they sound very good. Definitely worth the 50 dollars if you want good speakers.

Bang for the Buck!!!

These Speakers are amazing!!! I replaced my infinity Kappa 6.5" and they sound better and for the price $200 for the infinity and only $40 for these Fosgate amazing.

Great speakers

I have these speakers in my work truck powered by an entry level Pioneer CD player and I have to say they sound awesome. Good highs and decent bass for 6.5's. A huge upgrade over factory speakers.

Last speakers u ever need

They are rockford fosgate, and that translates into they are great.
their priced the same as average speakers and they perform great.

i have some RF subs with these speakers, high and lowpass filters and im not sure i have ever heard a better setup.

Great sound quality

Just installed 2 pairs of these. They just sound great and I'm impressed for the price and quality. At first I thought 40rms wouldn't be enough, but they are. Best bang for the buck really.

Blew the tweets out with a stock in-dash. Blown = worthless waste of $ unless you have less then 30 watts.

Great replacements

Have a 10 yr. old Avalanche with factory head. Stock speakers were very tired. Bought these from Sonic at a great price. Read the reviews, but I will say for the money these have got to be some of the best on the market. The lows are better than factory ever was. The highs are bright with good control. I listened to many more expensive speakers in the box stores, these are just as good and far less money.

Good Value, nothing too special

I bought these speakers for to replace the factory front door speakers in my 4Runner, I wanted the 3 way to fill up my mid-high range. I have 2 RF p210's for low end. I am impressed by the highs but not by the low end. they have a rather small magnet for RF speakers and are built kinda cheesy. But with a HPF set at 50hz they do what i ask quite well. and for 35 bucks they are a steal.

Fosgate Fan

I'm a big fan of fosgate. The R1653 is a great speaker they have made an amazing improvement in the sound in my car.

I wasn't satisfied with the speakers. They were not working correctly and speakers were blown. I wouldn't refer any one for this reason.

Sound quality is great, no issues with crackling or popping when at higher volumes.

Rockford Fosgate R1653

Six months ago, I ordered the Rockford Fosgate R1653 from Sonic Electronix. They looked great and the sound is very clear except for one speaker does have a rattling noise to it which can be very distracting. Other then the rattling their very nice but do make sure your car model will fit them snugly as i needed to replace the speaker covers because the speakers fit with a little overlapping so i was unable to cover them with the cars speaker covers!

GOOD SOUND

These little things give nice clear and loud sound, I love them I just got a small Rockford Fosgate amp on them and they sound great would recommend to anyone.......
