Excellent for cellar use
I recently tested this in a cellar where the weather radio signal was non-existent. I mounted the antenna on the metal door frame on the outside of the cellar (magnetic antenna base, yay!). There was enough gap between the door and the door frame to run the antenna coax down into the cellar with plenty of wire to reach to the weather radio. Reception accomplished! One negative against the antenna is that moving the wire around greatly affects the reception. Perhaps not enough shielding? Overall, however, this antenna is sturdy and even screws apart for easy transport. I feel safer already!
