A Welcomed Gift

Purchased this radio as a Christmas gift for my sister and she is delighted with it. She lives in a rural area and has trouble receiving a good signal for some of the AM radio talk shows she listens to. She told me that the reception and sound quality of the Sangean PR-D15 is far more superior than any of her other portable radios. Since I helped her to set it up with some rechargeable batteries and went over the features with her, I was able to make my own assessment for the rating scales as well. The only thing I didn't like is that the batteries are a little hard to install.

Does the job nicely

It's a nice, fairly compact stereo FM radio. Looks nice (IMHO) - even the wife has come around to its slightly industrial look (previously had a Tivoli). The sound is perfectly adequate, without being hi-fi. The reception is excellent & the buttons, dials and options are nicely laid out. Would have been nice to have an option to keep the LCD backlight on, but it's no biggie. Recommended!

Just a quick note if you're planning on plugging this in to a 230-240V power supply - don't use the included adapter - it's not smart switching & will fry the unit.

Radio Guy

I listen everyday, needed a radio that will last and sound good. Like the features on this Sangean such as the battery gauge and digital tuning. Suggest getting chargeable batteries for this is the one drawback on this radio, it takes allot of juice to run.

Great little Radio

The features and build quality of the PR-D15 are all top shelf. I examined many other remarks/reviews before I purchased one and based on the performance alone it deserves an "Excellent Product Rating." My only negative experience is that I ordered a Black one and was shipped a GREY one.
