Does NOT work with Elantra like the website says

I used this harness on an 08 Elantra with the Infinity system. However even though Sonic says you need this harness for this application, it will cause your sound to be really bad. My solution? Cut the black resister box off and wire it straight in and problem solved. You actually need the HY07B harness. It solved all problems and now I have a nice hitting speaker system in my gfs car.

Dash kit for Elantra 09

Used in an Elantra 2009 that had OEM single in-dash CD with 4 door mid-woofers and 2 pillar tweeters.

I installed the HY1614B with an Alpine CDE-143BT. I am very pleased with the overall result. I did NOT have to cut anything behind the radio as some sites have suggested. The kit color is black (very dark charcoal maybe) and it matches perfectly with the a/c vent color, so the overall stock theme feels intact. I did not have to use any of the trim rings that came with the Alpine because the Scosche was a perfect fit. Only minor thing is the Scosche sits very slightly to the right in the dask opening, leaving a wider gap on the left between the frame and dash vs. the right. It's a minor issue - thus the 4 out of 5. Also used a Metra wiring harness 70-1004 which had all the wires required to match the stock wiring. Very easy.

Disappointed

Don't buy this if you have a flip up radio with a screen larger than 7 inches. My ten inch screen CD player was way to wide for this.

It is ok had to be trimmed out alot and forced in but it works... I'd recommend it I does look good though.
