Does not work. No documentation. What does "Tip Only" mean?

I bought this product (Scosche MDAB) for a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon which had the original radio and antenna installed. I'm upgrading the stereo to an aftermarket JVC unit, and based on the product description and other customer comments I expected this product to simply plug in and interface between the JVC antenna connector and the original antenna connector. Not even close. It fit into the JVC connector just fine, but it was far too small for the Chevy antenna cable connector. What should I do? The female end of the connector looks like it can be used to connect to a bare (stripped) coax cable, however "no tools" are supposedly necessary for this product. Instead of tools, are people using their teeth to bite off and strip the original antenna cable? The product description also mentions that it is "Tip Only", despite the fact that it's supposed to be the only thing I need to do what I want to do. Is there another piece that should I buy? If so, what? I'm giving this product a 5 (highest) for quality because it looks like it's very good at doing whatever it's actually supposed to do, and a 1 (lowest) for documentation, with a combined total of 3. I will delete this review if I find something obvious that I'm missing. In the meantime, I'm going to try to cut and splice the original antenna cable to this product to see if this is what I have to do.
