Looks good and installs easily

Don't follow the instructions!

So, this came as part of the free installation gear with the head unit I purchased for my Pontiac Sunfire. If I hadn't gotten these together, I probably would not have figured out these were supposed to go together!

The instructions were not very clear and the kit is designed to go with many different vehicles. It would say, "if you have this make and model of car, break off these tabs" and on other pages, it would show breaking off more tabs if you these other cars... it was quite confusing.

I ended up putting the pieces together, and doing a trial fit in my car, ignored all the instructions, and just broke off the tabs that looked like would get in the way of installing it. It wasn't difficult, just confusing if you follow the instructions!

If you don't get frustrated and break it to pieces, you can work through it, just don't follow the instructions... :)

Scosche In-Dash Installation Kit for 2008 Altima

Though this kit says it applies to Nissan Altima 2007 and up, it does fit my 4-door 2008 Nissan Altima. The kit has optional parts to fit a console with a standard or digital climate control. (The standard climate control has a rectangular faceplate. The top edge of the faceplate of the digital control has rounded edges that follow the control knobs.) The kit also has an option for a single or double DIN unit. With a single DIN, the bottom half of the opening is filled in with a little storage compartment.

My Altima has digital climate controls and I have a single DIN unit. The installation kit fits just like it was OEM. However, the kit has a smooth, black surface whereas the rest of the console has a cross-hatched textured surface. Though, the look is not too distracting.

Careful with the storage compartment. It has little holes in the back for some unknown reason. They are small holes, but be aware that you could lose small objects. *Admin: The holes are to run wires if you are using an ipod or AUX input*

The mounting brackets are of the same material as the faceplate, ABS plastic, and it is soft. Mounting the stereo securely with screws deforms the bracket. I also had some issue with squaring up the unit within the opening of the faceplate (probably from deforming the bracket), but managed to set it straight.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the Scosche installation kit. Considering what else is available on the market, I would recommend this installation kit.

I have a 2009 nissan altima coupe, this fit perfect but the finish does not match the textured finish that's in the car, it has a flat black plastic finish. Not a big deal but something to note.

This product is and excellent adapter for aftermarket Car Stereo for the Nissan 2008 Model I have. I used mine in conjunction with the BOSS BV9758BI and it looks sweet.

I used this on a 2007 Nissan Altima for a touchscreen head unit. Yes, it is all made of plastic. Metal would be better. But it is durable plastic. And it fits very well into the original location and looks factory. If you have a black interior, this matches very well. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Makes life alot easier so that you can put your car stereo in dash.

Fit and finish are pretty good. A bit fragile so install carefully. Better looking and cheaper than the Metra kit.

I had to make it fit

to get the head unit in I had to file down both sides, as well as cut the single din pocket. I had a standard single din pioneer. After more cutting than I was comfortable with I got the head unit in. Looks good as far as being flush with interior trim
