For 1999 Nissan Maxima

I would recommend this product for owners with a factory Bose system. Easy to install. I think it has a better sound after the install.

Well Built and Easy to Use

I needed a compact line out converter with balanced inputs and outputs, along with DC blocking. The Scosche OEA4 fit those requirements. It uses electrolytic coupling capacitors to block DC and balanced resistive attenuation circuits to drop the signal level. I measured the minimum attenuation at 13.5dB. From that level, a pot on each channel allows you to drop the level progressively to zero. I needed 20dB of attenuation and that was easy to get by adjusting the pots. The input impedance is around 500 ohms. I did not measure frequency response, but found no degradation of sound.

The OEA4 was well built and about the size of a deck of cards (but twice as thick) making it small enough to fit where I needed it to go. The wire leads were pre-stripped and tinned, making soldering easier. The wire colors followed the standard speaker color code.

Fixed My Static Problem

My aftermarket HU and my factory amp were not getting along. Even with the engine off I could hear distortion (static) through the speakers and the volume on the HU was extremely loud even with the volume at 3. Installation was a snap once I stripped the factory soldered ends of this unit. Installed in about 40 minutes soldering it into the harness. Fired it up to the "sound of silence". A ground loop isolator did nothing for me but this did the trick right away. I fine tuned the gain to optimize the sound and the system sounds great now. Durability is a 4 because all I've done is install but I see no reason it would not hold up fine.

It allowed me to lower my head units output level to match my factory amp which gave better bass response at low volume from my sub.
