Awesome Bang for your Buck

This product is pretty simple. Me taking my time, no rush, and first time ever installing remote start it took me 5 hours. Everything works, keyless entry, remote start, the door sensor and shock sensor and trunk release. Still debating if i want the the hood pin installed. But the remote start feature, when you read the manual on how to program the system to remote time and long siren, the different branch modes thats adjustable. The system can learn the true RPM time so it can start the car everytime the first time. My car starts the first time even when it's extremley cold. The tru rpm tech mode allows it to do that which is great. The horn/siren is loud when it goes off. All 2 way pagers has a delayed reaction when the alarm goes off and you want to shut it off because it first sends the pager a signal on what cause the alarm to go off. But the single pager is instant. Oh, the 2 way pager can be programmed to automatically start your car at a program timed every day. That's a great feature. And it shows a timer for how long the car has been running. I tested this pager to remote start in the city to easily remote star at 1/4 mile measured distance. This alarm is loud. And an added feature is you can set from the antenna inside the car to turn of the alarm with a code if you need to get in the car without the keypad. The key is to make sure you learn how to enter the program branch mode so you can make the alarm learn the cars TACH. the tach/rpm wire is normally on if the wires plugged into the coil pack where your spark plugs are. The car learns the real time rpm in 1 second! So you don't have to worry about it killing your starter. It will start it better than you, trust me. Maybe i'll post a video review if someone wants to learn how to program the system to customize it. Install the shock sensor where it's easy to get to because you can dial in the sensitivity! that's all i can think of.

This alarm is great...not only is the price reasonable but the product is unbeatable. Hands down the best alarm on the market...

I recommend your product to my friends because it's very helpful. Two of my cars have your alarm with the option to start with my remote control. I live in Seattle where most early morning and night were cold. So before you get in to your car it's been warm and ready to roll.

Great Value

It works great, good distance. The install was a little challenging. The instructions were good for the unit, however, spent some time researching my vehicle's wiring diagrams. Will need to purchase relays, they don't mention that .

great price, excellent unit

Works great, have installed dozens of these in the past year, have not had any problems, very easy installation compared to other brands, the tachless mode works perfect every time. No need to waste time hunting for the tach wire. And excellent price.

Got the job done at the right price

My first install of a car alarm and starter. It worked great right out of the box. Easy to setup and get used to.

Only Con I found is that the two remote eats up batteries and the battery cover broke after the 2nd time of taking it off.

installed on 2000 honda Odyssey

This system works great. Only complaint is the life of the 2 way remote battery, 1 AAA seems to die often. using bypass module to simulate key in ignition. Installed myself but it can be tough to do.

easy install, work all the time never had any problem with anything from scytek. been an installer for ten years, also the range on their remote starts is flawless.

This Alarm is GOOD.

I hav been using these Scytek alarm systems for the past 6 years and has had no trouble of problems other than, I damaged the LCD on the remote by sitting on it.
I had 6 different modles installed in my vehicles and NEVER had a problem, other than the LCD damage on the remote.

I will like to let any body who has second thoughts of purchasing a ScyTek alarm system, to go BRAVE & BUY.

i bought a astra-4000, alarm system with remote start, and it works very well, i have no problems with it, i got it installed in my bmw, and i really like it, i'm going to buy 3 more one for each of my cars and truck...

A good alarm for a good price

I am an installer and i have installed this alarm on many cars and have found out it is a fairly easy alarm to install for a basic or even a advanced installer. Never have had one go bad or mess up. I would highly recomened this item to anyone looking to add remote start.

not good

i purchased the astra 4000 and 3 months after it got installed. the remote start stop working. i purchased it before the winter bc i wanted to use it when it gets cold outside. i am using the replacement remote that does not have the remote start because the remote start does not work. i am very disappointed with the remote, and does not advise anyone to buy it. i will recommend you to buy the viper.

ScyTek Astra Alarms are great auto security

I would like to let anyone who is thinking of buying one of these ScyTek auto alarm systems to know, always know what you need from an alarm system first and then go brave and buy, you will love these systems. I have been using these alarms for the past 5 years and Never had any problems more than damaged LCD's on the remote.

Best Bang for the Buck

Purchased this remote alarm for my Chevy Tahoe and was very pleased at its performance, I purchased another one. I have another vehicle with a Viper 5601 but it cost more and performs less than the Astra 4000. I work at a fleet service center and although there are several other makers of remote alarms in the same price range, I found the Astra to provide more than adequate features for anyone looking to outfit their vehicle with a safe and reliable remote start/alarm. The only flaw I experienced is the "two-way" fob battery cover tends to fall off. I hope the company will look into developing a more secured latch. I would highly recommend anyone on a budget looking for a quality alarm to look no further as this alarm has more features then the average person would need.

great alarm!

I bought this alarm for my honda accord and it has served it's purpose very well. It's two way pager feature is excellent for knowing my car is protected. I especially love the sensor delete feature which allows me to turn off the shock sensor when parking in certain areas and avoid false alarms. The remote start also allows me to start the car in the morning and have it warm and ready by the time I get inside. It has a long range remote which is useful since I live on the 4th floor of an apartment building and have underground parking. My only gripe is the battery life of the remote, but AAA batteries are cheap enough. Overall it is a great alarm which is easy to install.

my alarm

I've had this product for about six months and i installed it on my 08 magnum. It's really good from a good distance. The remote start is the best part of the alarm to me. if you have a magnum make sure you get a bypass transponder as well. It's the only way to install any starter kit on them.

A bargain

I am a professional back yard remote starter installer. This system has the features and function of a much higher priced system. This, by far, is the best bang from the buck. I've dealt with Compustar, Ultra Starters, and now Scytek. If you want a great system and don't want to spend a bunch of money, this is your kit.

excellent value

Great buy. Worked perfect and had some great features. Only complaint is that the 2-way remote only worked up to 1000ft I think. Still great buy.

The Astra 4000 is a good car alarm and the price is good also. The remote beeps when someone hits your car. I recommend this car alarm two anyone.

Great Product, Just what you will need.

I have been using this model alarm in all of my (6) six Japan vehicles for the past 4 years and never one day had a proplem with the system.

This alarm is a awesome alarm i seen the price sonic is offering for and im so mad, i paid $340 at a local store for this alarm, just shows you how much local economy is hurting, but yes i would recommend this alarm to anyone, great range great features..
