On my second Amperior
I originally had the silver Amperior but I sold it, and now I miss it so I'm buying the blue one since it's cheaper. Here's what I said about the silver, they're exactly the same except color:
The headphone looks good, the metal is real metal and it feels solid. The whole HD25 series has a reputation for being indestructible. It comes with 2 cables, one has a 90deg plug and no mic/buttons, the other has a straight plug and mic/buttons. Both are good, the mic has a clip which is nice. The sound: very monitor/studio like. Bass is there but it doesn't extend to the lowest notes very well, unfortunately. The treble is bright. Midrange is not as good as the bass or treble, it's a bit V-shaped. If you get it on sale it's a good value.

Accurate and engaging.
Lively and entertaining sound with a strong, but not cartoonishly fat, bass presentation. Works well driven directly from iPod.
Not a good choice for someone who wants a spacious sound above all else, but wonderful choice if you want an involving sound that draws you into the music. Much more Naim-like than Quad-like, if you know what I mean.
