The unit has a weak inside antenna consequently I can not get a lot of channels. the outdoor antenna is costly.

Works great

This boombox has a great sound and works great. Please note it only plays one CD, but that is not a problem for me.

Micro is just the size,but the sound is big and clear.Works well no matter the type of music you are hearing;jazz,rock or classical.Others stereos that cost twice or more does not stand against this SHARP. I highly recomended and by the way save money and deception...

Awesome Quality

This stereo shelf system went way beyond my expectations for a unit in this price range. The stereo is very well built and just looks and feels "Quality". The sound coming from the speakers did not disappoint. With the ability to play MP3 CDs, and an Ipod dock, what more could you ask for. It even includes a front usb port so you can plug in a flash drive and play even more music. In my opinion, this unit equals the sound quality of much more expensive component stereo systems. I highly recommend the stereo to anyone looking for a compact unit that puts out great sound.

This micro sound sysytem fulfills its purpose perfectly: decent, dependable music on a budget. as a matter of fact, it is played 6 days each week in a retail store, at least 8-10 hours each day. After nearly four months, I am looking to purchase a second unit for a bedroom. Thanks Sharp!

I had a great old JVC bookshelf stereo. It played old cassettes and had a CD tray for 1 CD. It had excellent reception and all the features worked well for years. It was tiny but powerful. Eventually the CD player conked out and the stereo repair shop I went to said the unit was too old and that JVC didn't make a replacement CD player any more for that model so I used it just as a tuner and to play cassettes or listen to the radio. The tape deck worked well and I have lots of cassettes so I was still happy with it for a long time. Then came the advent of the CD. Soon, I could no longer play new tapes. And I couldn't play CDs at all. I decided it was time to get with the program and get a replacement for the old JVC.

I looked for a replacement bookshelf stereo with a CD player that I could afford for over a year. Mostly I found great big scary looking bright silver boom-boxes. Yikes! Then I found some very expensive designer bookshelf stereos that were to be used by people with lots of money who wanted the very best. After a long time, I finally found this Sharp bookshelf stereo and it was just what I wanted. So I bought it.

Truth be known, I have had this stereo for several months and I haven't actually used it yet. I have just been too busy to sit down with the users' manual and learn it. HOWEVER, I had someone set it up for me on my bookcases and IT LOOKS GREAT!! On first look, the stereo seems to be very similar to the old JVC BS stereo. It is the same size and has many other features very much like my old JVC. But the Sharp has a CD player.

I am thrilled to have found a perfect replacement for my old JVC bookshelf stereo. It fits perfectly and really looks classy. Now I just need to use it for what it is meant to be used for and not just a beauty item on my bookshelf system.

Bought our first one for our cabin, liked how compact it was and that we could plug in our Sony wm which is a usb. Bought another for our garage then one for our house when our old one quit. good reliable stereo.

Excellent product

I am very happy with my new stereo. It works excellent. I can use it to play my iPod songs, or listen to the radio, or play a CD. The remote is extremely handy for changing channels, switching songs, etc. from across the room. It's also very nice looking and can be easily displayed on a shelf of bookcase.

Superior Deal

After reviewing all available online stereos, I found the Sharp XL-DH259P met all my requirements for features and cost. Having it now for over 6 months and using it constantly, I couldn't be more pleased with its performance. The sound is far superior to what I expected for the low price I paid and it certainly exceeded all my expectations.

Very good unit

This is a very good micro stereo; it has excellent sound and is easy to use. I appreciate the ease with which I can use my iPod and Sirius radio with the unit; one issue with the unit is the speaker wire length is extremely short if you intend to place them too far from the radio unit. I would recommend this stereo.
