Scratch Masters
I've used many other cartridges in my time as a DJ most of them either aren't loud enough or pop out of the groove when back cueing. On the popping out of the groove subject, I have friends that would say "just put more weight on the stylus" or "why don't you just turn the counterweight around backwards or glue a nickel to the headshell". Dumb, dumb, dumb. That's a great way to wear out your records. Man I've spent thousands on my records and have one off demos, I'm not going to ruin my records just because the needle won't stay put. After buying and then selling many brands and models of needles I found the Shure M44-7. These are LOUD! These are TOUGH! and These stay put. I use these cartridges with 1.5 g - 2 g and they never ever pop out of the groove even when scratching, and I have a really heavy hand when I scratch. I only recommend these cartridges, trust me I've used them all. I know that you sucker DJs swear by your non adjustable, popular brand, finger type cartridges (you know the brand that I'm talking about). How long are your records going to last? Mine still sound new and they're 20 years old.
Bottom line, get these!
